Reccomend a genuine battery please? - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

Hi guys, having some issues with my phone, it randomly turns off at times, sometimes it goes into a boot loop, when connecting it to the mains, it restarts fine. If anyone else had this issue, and has a solution, please suggest?
I took out the battery and it seems like it has swollen, by this i mean it feels a bit bloated in the middle and also a bit loose in the slot. Even though its not one of the bad battery batches Samsung has reported, its still giving me these problems.
I would appreciate, if someone who has already purchased a genuine s4 19505 battery with NFC could link me up to one on ebay or amazon, i am looking for a replacement and want to make sure its not a fake one. Thanks

Only way to ensure it is not fake is to buy directly from Samsung. If you register your phone first, they will send a 50% off coupon.

Phone heated and now won't turn on

So today I was sitting and I felt my pocket was hot. It was my phone, and it was ridiculously hot! I quickly shut it down via system, and let it cool down. I tried to turn it on but it won't. and I also tried charging it as well. I called HTC and they told me to re calibrate the battery, but that didn't do anything. the repair is $120 dollars and probably a few weeks without a phone. What should I do?

I see some batteries on Amazon that these guys seem to be using for about 20 bucks.
Don't know about the price of tools
I definitely wouldn't send it back in for $120, that's just me. I would buy a new phone.

I have no idea if it will turn on. Sorry. (my gut says probably)
I guess it depends on how hot the battery actually got and if it affected the other components.

I would repare it and buy a cheap Nokia-Phone for 20 bucks for the time you dont have your One S. I paid more than 160$ for a new display for my HTC Wildfire wich has actually the worst display on the market.
If you wont let it repair by HTC you can buy a battery but it maybe wont work out because there has to be sth. that made the battery getting so hot. Maybe it was the Mainboard that's a bit broken which let the battery getting so hot. Just my considerations.

[Q] Nexus 4 LG model battery replacement london service

Dear friends,
my nexus 4 is 1 1/2 years old now. while its a great phone the battery now dies too fast. its hardly few hours. always remembering charging is an issue. also the extra portable power has to be used so much frequently.
Its now out of warranty. as one year has passed. i cannot for sure change battery myself. Pls let me know is there any service repair center in your experience where i can get this battery replaced for nexus 4.
I am based out of london and if its in london the better.
kindly advice thank you
I have seen that you can replace the battery yourself if you are careful enough, there are tutorials with step-by-step pictures.. As for the battery, an Optimus G battery will also work, but you must make sure the battery is authentic; I have read that there are lots of counterfeit ones offered online.

hello
I replaced my n4 battery last week with a battery claiming to be genuine from ebay uk.
it was quite easy the tricky part is the adhesive holding the battery down its pretty strong stuff.
When I bought the battery I didn't know if it actually was genuine or not, but after fitting it it appears to work as I remember my n4 working when I first had it.
I would recommend you do it yourself one other thing if the phone has never been opened, the clips for the rear half of the case are difficult to undo, so take care when prying open the back.

Hi,
I live in Holland and I want to buy the original battery.
How is it holding up?
Are you getting more SOT than before?
Thanks in advance!
Hey guys, I ran into some issues after replacing my battery. I bought this one, it look identical to the original I think.
After replacing it, my phone gets the red LED light if I try to hold Power to turn it on. The only way to turn it on is by entering fastboot mode (Power + Vol Down).
The phone would not reboot itself on software commands (ie. rebooting from recovery menu or "fastboot reboot"), the only way is to enter fastboot mode when the phone is off. Secondly, the battery icon does have the lightning charging sign, however the status said it's "Not charging". There is no green charging light. Right now the battery percentage is decreasing as I use the phone.
I am able to transfer files to the phone if I connect it to the computer, I have to assume it is charging even though the phone doesn't update the battery info. I am running fully factory stock firmware, Android 5.0.1.
I wonder if this is an issue with the battery, or if I need to completely drain it or some extra step I need to perform? Thanks.
Nevermind, it was a faulty battery and I'm getting an exchange. I guess they stored it for a so long.

I don't think it's the official one..
you can buy the original one here: http://www.spareslg.com/bateria-lg-e960-nexus-4-lg-optimus-g-e975-eac61898601.html
My N4's battery was starting to expand. I noticed it when the Qi orb charger stopped working and the glass was lifting up on the front left side. I did the replacement myself and it was not too hard. I would suggest watching the YouTube videos a few times over. As for tools, I borrowed the screwdrivers from my office, guitar pics and a hair dryer from my wife. As for how long it took, it was about an hour. You will need a lot of patience with opening the phone and prying out the old one. As for the battery, I figured I would get what I paid for, so I avoided the $10 ones on Amazon and Ebay as there were too many bad reviews there. I was able to buy a brand new (non OEM) one from Radio Shack online and ship it too the store down the street.

My N4 works great, and he has 2 years old LOL.
Battery works great also :3

Before I waste any money - What do y'all think? Battery, or worse?.. YiKES !!

So, yesterday, I'm just lounging on the couch, readin' on my OG Nexus 5 (from 2013, mind you). &, BAM !! Just turns off (with about 40% battery). So, I'm thinkin', "Ok. I'll just force a reboot..." NOTHING !! So, I plug it in... NOTHING !! I'm talkin' NO LEDs, no charging indicator, no NOTHIN' !! Can't access recovery or bootloader. I believe it to be a hardware issue, whether battery or some board, idk. So, what do you all think? Replace the battery? And, If it is dead, I'm out of luck !! Because, I have a good amount of research that I hadn't backed up yet. Btw, I'm no slouch, so I've tried every button combo, etc. Neither, do I believe it to be an internal power button issue.
Running rooted stock 6.0.1 MMB29K, stock recovery, franco.Kernel r79, SuperSU 2.66-BETA
Thanks !!
Mod Edit: please don't bypass swear filters
I suggest charging the phone using the original cable and charger that came with the phone. Leave it on the charger for about an hour to see what happens.
Yes, it could be the battery but it could also be something else. I assume you don't have another Nexus 5 to test it with.
Try to disconnect and reconnect the battery's wire. I had a similar problem and it was solved by doing so .

I've tried this, and unresponsive. And, you have assumed correctly. lol Also, I've only used the OEM cable & charger (aside from the occasional alternatives out & about i.e. friend's charger, g/f's, etc.).

By this, do you mean the long L-shaped one? Or, the smaller connection at the top of the battery? Because, I had disconnected & reconnected the ribbon, but never removed the battery, as I lack that li'l blue tool in the iFixit video.
Well, the battery will be the cheapest unless you can quickly score a used N5 with a damaged screen and working internals.

The small connector not the long L shaped. I think the L shaped is for the speaker and some other components in the bottom of the phone and not related to the battery.
You don't need the blue tool to remove the battery. Just heat the battery with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive. Then, take a a flat blade and gently slide it between the battery and frame. Slide and gently pry the battery away from the frame. I have done this several times on N5s and never had a problem.

Ok. So, I had gone ahead and disconnected & reconnected the battery connector to no avail. :\ (Why do bad things happen to kinda sorta, in a way relatively good people like myself?.. smh) Any other advice?..
So, I'd decided to stop being a cheap BASTARD and ordered a "Genuine OEM Google Nexus 5 LG D820 D821 2300mAh Battery BL-T9 3.8V 8.74Wh" on amazon, sold by YDT Parts for $6.49 (Free Shipping from California) if anyone else is interested. I'll post results after installation, just-in-case anyway else finds themselves in my predicament...
That price is really good for a genuine oem battery compared to prices from etradesupply.

I KNOW, RIGHT !? Hopefully, all that I have is a dead battery. Guess I'll see soon enough. Now, if only there were a way to get a fingerprint reader on this device, I wouldn't update till the N5's no longer updated. (What's the official term for that, anyway? Not EoL, is it?..)
Let's hope it is genuine. I bought one from Aliexpress that looked just like an original but people said it is not an original because the temperature would not go above 29c. I don't know if it is original but it's works fine.
Well, got the battery and NOTHiNG !! So, idk, maybe my N5's just dead. But, the supplier might as well have been from China - Typos, terrible English, the whole 9... Also, my OEM battery's by Sony, but this one says Samsung, so who knows?.. :: shrugs:: I don't trust these companies anymore. Thanks for y'all's input, though.
So not LEDs, no vibration, nothing?
If you have access to a Windows computer, connect the phone to the computer. Does anything appear in device manager?

Nope. NOTHiNG !! Its fine, though. My g/f'd given me her VZW HTC One (M7). So, that'll haveta do till I get my next Nexus (which'll be either a 5X or Google's 2016 offering, if I like the direction the rumors go in...). So, now... OFF to the M7 boards !! Godspeed, everyone ! Godspeed. lol

VZ Note 5 painfully slow charging

I've bought a note 5 a couple weeks ago and it always take somewhere around 5 hours to charge to full from 1-8%. I got suspicious last night when I bought an anker qc3.0 car charger and a Samsung adaptive fast charger car charger and they didnt charge any faster. I've ran ampere and accubattery to see what the current was and it's not getting above 460mA no matter the charger. It's not the cable, I have a few good cables that all push 3A+ on other devices. I have deleted the cache partition and tried charging in safe mode and with the phone off but doesn't get any faster. Please someone help me figure this out. It's stock firmware on android 5.1.1. Thanks

Where did you buy the phone from? Are you sure you didn't purchase a fake phone? Can you go into settings then about phone and tell me what the baseband is? And if possible include a picture of the front of the phone while the screen is off.
Bought it from a guy that had upgraded his and his wife's phones. Baseband version is N920VVRU2A0J3.

The phone looks fine and it's real but with the way it's charging I suspect it needs a new internal battery.
You don't suspect the charging circuit? AccuBattery does say estimated capacity is only around 2700mAh. How hard is it to replace the battery in these?

It requires you to heat the back up with a heat gun and I've done it many times but I would say in all honesty I've broken the damn glass back a few times because I consider them fragile pos! But have you gone into settings and then battery and checked to see if "Fast cable charging" is ticked on?

I can give you a program called odin that's made to flash firmware updates to the phone but you have to download the firmware and the odin program and enable OEM unlock in developer options.. Click this link below and read my instructions . Just substitute the N920VVRU2AOJ3 firmware for the second link below.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve.../downgrade-to-lollipop-5-1-1-verizon-t3368250
And I would recommend that you try this firmware but do not go any higher or you will NEVER EVER be able to downgrade back to Lollipop.. The firmware version in this link below is for upgrading to Marshmallow 6.0 and you can downgrade back to lollipop if you don't like Marshmallow but don't flash nothing higher than this one or you will only be able to use Marshmallow or Nougat and nothing else... Link to the Marshmallow firmware below .. Make sure you extract it ONE time after you download it so you see .tar.md5 at the end of the file name and then you can put the phone in download mode and flash the firmware with odin.

Well you just figured out why it's not working right then.. Now you're definitely going to have to remove the back of the glass and replace the charging port I could do it but you'd have to send the phone otherwise you need to buy something to heat the back up but don't heat it so much that it burns it and destroys it! There's charging ports available to buy on Amazon and Ebay.. You need to be really careful with it because the ribbons will tear like they're wet paper that's how easy it is to break it!
It looks like this.

Also try using a magnifying glass to look at the pins inside your usb port and if they're bent try to straighten them.

I would recommend that you find a seller that sells brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 batteries and get the SAME 3000 mah simply because there's so many people selling fake batteries that are like 2000mah and only last for like 2 hours versus Samsungs 6 to 8 hours.. What the fake sellers do is put a piece of plastic inside with a 2000mah battery and then wrap it with a real Samsung battery logo so you think it's real but it's not you should watch this YouTube video and get the battery from this guy
YouTube video link Fake VS real Samsung battery

Paying a store around you to do it expect to pay anywhere between 175 to 250. If you can do it yourself it's less than 50.

mi4i bootlooping unless connected to charger

I am facing a weird problem where if I try to boot the device then it goes into bootloop just after the mi logo. I've tried using official rom as well as custom roms, but no luck. However, if I connect to charger it will boot with any rom. Even if it boots, if I disconnect from charger then the device will restart after some time of use and again bootloop.
I have checked the battery connector, but it is ok.
Help me please.

By the way, I replaced the battery in a phone service kiosk (unauthorized service center), I already checked with the authorized service center in Indonesia and they said they no longer got mi4i battery in stock, the production is stopped. Don't know if it's true but I'm too lazy to follow up and opted for the unauthorized one.
As for the price, the replacement in the unauthorized service center done in 15 minutes, so I'm happy with the price I paid. If you wanna go DIY and don't mind waiting, sure, just order on ebay. But if you wanna get it done quickly, I suggest you check locally. It's a popular phone, I believe the spare part is easy enough to find.
Good luck and please let us know if replacing the battery solve your problem too!

By the way again, by service fee I mean the labor cost for replacing the battery. The battery itself is around USD10 here.

Thanks for the advice. In India it is a bit difficult to find. Anyway, let me see where I can find it.
Replace the battery
Hello bro,
I too faced the same bootloop issue. So i took the risk and purchased new battery on ebay.in. and nowy my Mi4i is working fine without any worries. So buy a new battery on ebay.in go for it blindly its original. And you can replace battery on your own just google it how to replace. U need a screwdriver small one and need to just unplug 5-6 connections to replace a new batery thats all....
I too have done the same.
Hope you will get back your phone......
Suhail.....
