Hi, I have a unrooted HTC One S and was wondering if there is any way I can get Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, Snapchat etc notifications on my lockscreen? Not as little symbols on the top of your screen, but in the same way as the text message notifications work (I'm using the 'Productivity' lockscreen)
Thanks!

My One S is rooted, but I'm using a widget called 'Dashclock widget'. Check it out in the play store, might be what your looking for.

That would be what I'm looking for, but I don't have Android 4.2 so I cannot use widgets on the lock screen.

Booooo... time to root...
I prefer NiLS from Playstore, but here you also have to be on 4.2
There are two possibilities:
Use WidgetLocker from Playstore and NiLS (read description of NiLS).
Or you root your device and directly go to OS 4.4.2 KitKat where you can put widgets on your LS
Dashclock is great. You'll need to also get Dashnotifier app that goes with it. Its worth going through the process of rooting and getting custom ROM for the new features in Android 4.4.2. Take a look at Twistedkat ROM which is working great for me. Dashclock widget works a treat on this ROM. You can also add widgets to the lock screen on kitkat ROMs! Genius.

Is there any widget that shows what would be in your notification bar?? Particularly one that is customizable. I want to put it on the lock screen, like the new IOS 5 lockscreen.
Never live in the past but always learn from it.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think standard (non-root) apps are allowed to read/see all your notifications.
Well I am rooted.

i'd like this too, also rooted, something minimalist would do nicely

Thats what i'm using now
It works well and its fairly customisable but it only shows notifications for calls, texts and emails.
I think Tennis11 and me are both looking for a widget that shows all notifications e.g. facebook, calendar, app updates, IM etc
I want th eWeather / clock widget thats posted from the 2x I installed the apk file by downloading to the computer and adding to my phone then used appinstaller to install but it is not in my widgets. I do see it under my applications. Could someone please help me
It's in the Apps and themes section under LG apps or something like that. If you're not using a custom launcher like adw then then widget takes the entire screen. I am using MIUI Digital Weather, free on the market.

Right, I had this issue back on Froyo. I don't know why, but it only worked if I wasn't using a custom launcher. If you disable your launcher, it will work. I notice on 2.3.3 that LG calender widget doesn't appear on the widget menu.
I have the Stock LG camera on 2.3.3, zero lag.

Are you on 2.2.2 or 2.3.3?
Well, after pressing the button the camera has to adjust its focus and whatnot to take a good picture.

There is an almost identical one in the Market called 3D Digital Weather Clock. It will show up as a widget and works quite well.

That was the "almost identical" part of my comment. Sorry, I couldn't find an exact duplicate.
GO Weather is a similar widget and it's skinable to be flowery or several other things.

I'm looking for a lockscreen app that allows access to specific apps on my phone without actually unlocking my phone. For example, i want friends to be able to pickup my phone and call someone, select a new song, use the internet browser, but not actually unlock my phone. I tried a few different lockscreen apps and they all allow for the lockscreen shortcuts to specific apps, but if your phone is locked, u must unlock it before using the shortcuts. Ideally, the app im looking for would still have the same shortcuts as in widgetlocker, but wouldnt require lock, provide limited access to only the shortcut app, and then have the standard unlock screen as well. anything like this already out there? or is it possible to create something like this? Thanks!
I'm on droid bionic, gingerbread, rooted.
Don't know if this helps, but when I was on CyanogenMod 7.2, I enabled lockscreen gestures (can't remember exact menu steps). You can set up gestures like switch music tracks, open specified app, unlock, etc. This lockscreen is built into the ROM, though. Worked for me.

When you launched apps was the rest of the phone still locked? Most apps that have launch capabilities from the lock screen seem to lack security. after opening an app you can just use the home screen button or back button to get to the main menu.

Again, this app doesn't actually keep the phone locked. When u go to camera from the lock screen nothing stops you from simply clicking the homescreen button to unlock the phone entirely.

No, the phone is not secure after using lockscreen gestures to open an app. Sorry, I couldn't help. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Hi guys,
As the title says,
Is there any way to downgrade the Jelly Bean 4.1.3 Calendar App to the ICS 4.0.3 Calendar App?
I downloaded the Calendar.apk from somewhere that somebody submitted for ICS, but cannot implement it into JB.
Trying to work out how to strip out the JB Calendar App first though, so can anybody suggest, is this possible?
If so, or if it is possible to do or cannot do this, anysuggestions or info on how to go about this is much appreciated.
ps:
I am using Galaxy Tab 2 P5100 currently running JB v4.1.3

The JB calendar is a systemapp. You can downgrade, but it isn't recommended though. Downloadig/restoring a systemapp can caus your device to crash (had it myself once, alsu due a calendar systemapp).
PS: good alternative for the calendar is Business Calendar, which is way better than any other stock calendar.

Thanks for the advice Endie, I will check it out.
My other thought was, maybe I also asked the wrong question.
Question also should have been, is there also any way to actually make the calendar the full page size.
So when I flip pages, the calendar takes up the whole page type of thing?
Would have thought it was possible at least but so far, no cigar.
Cheers again~!

I do add the Calendar Widget yes. The largest size in the widgets panel is 6x4 and in the 10.1" screen, its still way to small.

Hold the widget for 2 secs so you can move it around, put it in the upper left corner and you should be able to enlarge the widget. :good:

As my note is running 4.1.2 I need to click the pen marker to edit anything on the page.
When I do that and hold for 2 seconds as you say, I can move the calendar widget.
But dragging it to the left corner only adds it to another page.
Or just holding it will not select or re-size the widget at all, so its like not editable in 4.1.2
Any other suggestions?
Are there some root apps or xposed modules who can put unread badges on apps like snapchat/instagram? Don`t want to use google play apps who uses a widget to get this solved.
You could try Xperia™ Unread.
It's paid, i've didn't tested yet

Notifyer Unread Count
ps : tested with snapchat
This might be helpful (in a way or another):

Also, This app does the job, but for a very limited number of launcher (it might help to find a similar one):
