I replaced mine a couple months ago but I had to replace the digitizer too. It cost ~$160 for a replacement but process was easy. It's been working great ever since. I don't know if it's possible to replace the glass without replacing the digitizer.

yep. I'm going to try just the glass and see. it's only $15 and there are plenty of u-tube vids to help. worst case I will upgrade. just can't decide between the SG4 or the HTC one.
I have a repair guide for this somewhere, I'll post when I find it.

somehow i cracked my touchscreen you can barely notice it but knowing its there bugs me. anyone know where i can buy just the digitizer everywhere i look its lcd+digitizer,
or is that not possible?
thanks
It usually comes as a unit can't buy just the digitizer as they are mounted together if I am not mistaken. That is how the Blackberry Torch was as well. They are not easy to replace.

I just picked up a JIG from Josh. Good stuff. I think you can also send him your device and he can replace it. Or you can purchase the digitizer from him and put it in your self I don't think the install is THAT bad. Just gotta be careful and pay attention.
Mine shattered today and I need to replace it. Just wondering if anyone has a suggestion on what site to use to get a new one and how easy/hard it is.
They are expensive I paid 50 for mine . Your best bet is ebay

I replaced mine, pretty easy. You can check out youtube for video tutorials, and yeah, the digitizer is pretty pricey. Just make sure you have some adhesive available and take your time.
I will be needing to replace mine. The part should arrive soon, this is what I ordered;
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005QXQXYI/ref=oh_o02_s00_i00_details
It comes with a new bezel attached and with power/volume buttons pre-assembled. Rather nifty if I do say so myself.

That's a very handy assembly. I spent probably 2 hours getting the tape in all the right places to put it together.
Digitizer
I had to repace one on the G2x I got off ebay awhile back. I would suggest that you check out the youtube video on disassembly. You have to be careful when you get to the part where you lift out the motherboard. You have to lift up the old digitizer cable connector as well as the lcd screen will be somewhat stuck to a gasket around the face. Once you get past that it should go fine. The best price for a digitizer is on ebay, just make sure you get the one with the frame. Good luck.
Eddie
Also make sure you buy one with adhesive on the frame cause mine didn't have it and its getting a hole bunch of dust specs

Send it to LG. Factory tech replacement with original part for around $70.00. If I had that option that is the route I would go.

It's very simple to return the phone to stock.

I just replaced my wife's digitizer. I got the white one from California on ebay. Simple if you are good with your hands. Take your time, I glued the new digitizer cause that's how lg did it. Works flawlessly.

I don't know their actual stance on this, but I don't think they should care/find out that it's rooted.
#1 if you are paying for their service, it's not a warranty issue.
#2 why would they even need to poke around in your phone to replace the screen?
Hi everyone. I'm wondering if anyone on here has broken there back glass and managed to get it replaced? I pulled my phone out of my pocket a couple days ago and when i looked at it the back cover was shattered. i have no idea what happened. I didn't drop my phone and i don't remember anything hitting my pocket but i figure somehow i must have bumped it. At any rate I purchased a spigen case to cover it up and it looks fine. I'd be able to live with it with the exception that i have a crack going over each of my camera lenses resulting in some distorted pictures. So anyway, short story long, I'm pretty sure that i'm just going to order a replacement back from ebay and attempt the replacement myself. I'm fairly confident from the video's that I've watched that i can handle it ok. If not then oh well I guess. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Has anyone else done this repair and have any information or advice that would be useful. Just curious and figure it's worth asking first. Thanks in advance
I am quite lucky to even after it several falls.carefully replace it good luck .
Only a few people I saw had their back glass shattered. And I think most of them had replaced it either in the service center or got a replacement unit.

Be careful before buying. If you buy any duplicate one, your camera won't be good.

I'll try to find a good one, unfortunately all of the replacements seem to be from China. That being said the camera is already dink'd up from the cracks so I'm not too worried about it. Thanks!

I will. I just ordered a back including the fingerprint sensor this morning. I'm not expected to have it until sometime around September 6th. I ordered from this ebay link, we'll see how it goes. Worse case I'm out $25.
That's okay. But I think Huawei also fixes the back with 100% guaranteed that everything will be fine.

Your best bet is to contact someone at you break we fix.
Going to get the display replaced sometime this week from ubreakifix.
Has anyone else cracked their 3a and had it repaired?
when you get your phone back, put one of these on it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RWM29DL/
just like with every phone, you should be using a tempered glass screen protector.
Sucks besides the temp glass protection, get a case.

I did, actually She did but I picked the tab, of course.
ubreakifix work was impeccable, no way to notice it's been replaced. $120 Canadian and 30 min. I'm pretty much sure they source displays from manufacturer.
Good to hear from someone who got theirs repaired there. I gave them a call and they said that for all Google products they get all parts direct from Google.
I would normally repair this myself but being my main phone and something I just bought a couple of months ago, I didn't want to mess with it.
I am definitely ordering a good screen protector immediately and not waiting.

The prices on Ebay were not much lower than ubreakifix quote and most ship from China, so it was no-brainer to me.

Is the replacement screen a samsung panel or a tianma panel?
dropped mine over laborday... ordered a replacement from Fixez.com... came quickly and is a samsung panel. replaced it myself, but they sticky they sent was cut wrong and too thick, so its not quite as flush as it was. might go by ubreak and see if they can help me out. works fine for now though
