Hi
i hope you can help me, i found nothing myself.
I recently got my OTA Update 4.2.2 and now im experiencing some bugs. First one, not so annoying but visible all the time, when i group more Apps into a folder on my Homescreen, the folder gets a black background, when it was see-trough before.
The bigger problem lays with connecting my htc to a pc. At first the USB-Connection works without flaws. I can browse the folders, connect to the internet, but after a minute the connection breaks up and only reconnecting resolves the issue. Thats pretty annoying if i want to copy some files that need more time. My question would be, how or even if there is a log file for the usb connection, where i can search why it disconnects.
Thanks!

Recently i started to use activesync to share internet connection over BT with my pc, it works fine, though i have two questions:
first one is the synchronisation wizard that pops up immediatly after my wizard connects. i've noticed that i need to close it for net link to be established. I'd like to disable it somehow, so that i don't need to get anywhere close to my PC to connect, it's quite annoying. I even tried to capture the AS window with my own software to close it, but was unable to recognize it properly. any chance to do it?
other thing is, when i use usb to sync with AS, i am able to acces lan resources with total commander. I was hoping i can do the same with BT connection, but so far i was unable to locate the proper solution for this idea... would be cool if i had it working, i used to do it over wifi, but i prefer using BT now, help anyone...
thanks in advance guys
Still nothing, i'm stuck with this problem, would be grateful for any solution
Life can be so cruel...
So just for your information guys, problem is solved. though im rather mad about it, as it happened an ugly way;]
so i;ve finally managed to create an application that captures proper Activesync windows and closes synchronisation wizard, so that my xda establishes connection without me even touching desktop pc. thats fine. i just couldn't remember where in registry to place my app so that it opens when i connect (i don't like the idea of my program just sitting in windows tray all the time), the idea is cool, it's almost finished, i go google. "activesync registry"
first result is this...
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/applications/undocumentedactivesync.htm
you can't imagine how angry i get... ;]
anyway, there's no need for my program to exist, i just change/add one registry value, thats it...
just why couldn't i find it for over a month, and i did right after i found another way to solve it??? life sucks ;]
Hello everyone!
I need some help/ideas DESPERATELY. I am running 2.2 on a Samsung Captivate, I just upgraded it from 2.1 today. I am also running it on Mac OS X, latest software upgrade version.
When I try to connect my Captivate to my Mac through Mass Storage option, it causes this 'massstoragecamera' to kick up in my Activity Monitor. In turn, this runs my CPU to 100% within 20 seconds of me connecting the Captivate to the Mac, causing my computer to freeze up completely and hang. I have tried to force quit/quit 'massstoragecamera' in Activity Monitor itself, but to no avail as even Activity Monitor freezes. When I try ejecting the phone through Finder, even Finder hangs! The only way to fix the problem is to force restart my Mac through holdign down the power button, the entire computer is useless once Captive is connected!
All I am really trying to do is to sync my music through DoubleTwist, this was NEVER a problem in 2.1 Any ideas? Please? I am SO disappointed as I have been looking forward to this update and I have no music player at all now!
Thanks for any help!
I'm having the exact same problem. I upgraded to Froyo a couple days ago and since I did, I cannot view anything whatsoever on my Mac. It's bugging out my Finder as well and the whole system hangs frequently.
Problem solved -- sorta:
Start up your Mac and make sure the Android is UNPLUGGED.
Open up Terminal
Plug in your SGS like normal
Once it mounts on the computer, type the following in Terminal: killall MassStorageCamera
After this the device should work like normal. I'm finally transferring my music back after formatting my drive in frustration, haha.
It's a temp solution but hopefully Samsung/Mac/someone will come up with a permanent solution soon.
I have HTC MOZART, NODO Build, unbranded in indonesia.
Now my question is, once every 2-3 weeks, I got his kind of error. Basically The internet connection is gone when this happens, and I cannot update anything, unless of course I connect to zune in my laptop and use usb for internet connection shared from the laptop.
The only way to fix this AFAIK is by restarting the device (or remove the battery, and put back in)... hold the on button until off and turn on again is suffice though....
I dont mind restarting the phone within that interval, it is just weird and I tried to google and looked it up everywhere, I have not got the right explanation. Restarting the phone WORKS every time btw.
Anybody knows what this error is?
UPDATE:
I see that many others experience this and still no answer

For the last several months, I can download and upload to my shared folders on my Windows 10 Pro PC, with no problems at all using FX Explorer, via SMB2. Never a glitz or slowdown, no problems whatso ever, no matter what ROM I happened to be running at the time.
The problem I am now having started yesterday, when I installed the new Windows 10 Pro x64 Fall Creators Update on my PC. I did a clean install, and set up the system from scratch. I did all my Network settings for sharing, just like before, and I set the Share permissions on 2 folders that I use for my OPO, just like before. Made sure that SMB2 protocol is enabled on the PC also.
I created a new LAN connection in FX Explorer to the new Windows OS, and tried to connect. Well, it sort of does connect, but mostly does not. When I try to access the shared folder on my PC, I can see the 2 folders in the Explorer list-view on my phone, but when I try to enter either one of the folders, all I get is a spinning circle for about a minute, and then get a report in big red letters that there was a "Network Error".
Well, that's a first on the OPO, for sure! To double check that I had set up the new Windows OS correctly, I connected to the shared folders using a laptop via WiFi, and it connects and reads the contents perfectly fine. I then gave it a go with a second PC in the house, and that PC also was able to read/write great to the shared folders.
OK.... so, the folders on the main PC are in fact, being shared, and other PCs can access them, but my OPO cannot, no matter what I try. Like I said, it sees the shared folders, but when I try to enter either one of them, it just craps out. I've tried 3 different file managers, all with the same results. I've tried anonymous connect, and password connect, both with the same result.
I even disabled the firewall on my PC to see if that was the problem (which I did not do for the 2 PCs that did connect) , and tried again with my OPO, but no joy, once again..
I am totally baffled. I have spent probably the better part of 6 hours on the net searching for solutions and answers, including this forum, but again, no joy, and then trying all things I could think of to do. Does anyone have any idea what can be causing this issue all the sudden? Any ideas at all as to why this is happening? You have no idea how much I would appreciate a solution to this problem. I even went so far as to restore a complete backup image I had made just before upgrading the PC, and with the old image installed on the PC, my OPO would once again connect to the shares perfect. So, not a hardware issue with my OPO either..
Thanks for reading this long post!!
Currently running stock rooted 8.0 with the most current updates. Searching the web turns up a number of references to this with no real solution, searching here found no references to it at all unless I suck at searching.
I've noticed I have a lot of trouble transferring files to my Pixel from my computer (Windows 8.1). My phone is recognized, but accessing it tends to be very slow, and if you copy anything to it, it tends to stall, often before it even begins to transfer (calculating space required, etc) even with small files. Even just creating a new folder has hung it up before. I've tried different cables, different ports, and no change. Disconnecting and reconnecting the phone will get it working again briefly, but it's not long before the problem returns.
On a whim, I booted in to TWRP, and tried copying files there. First try, everything is immediately recognized, and is transferring at full speed. I just finished a 7.5 GB file transfer with no issue, after transferring a 3.5 GB right before successfully. The good news is this seems to be a viable workaround for now, but it'd be nice to not have to boot into TWRP every time I want to transfer something. Anyone else having this problem or have a solution?
