ok guys THIS IS FOR XNOTE 7 ONLY.
for those that use group messaging know that it is not available in xnote 7. i have modded the secmms.apk to allow group messaging to be selected under Settings>mms as well as increased mms size and quality as well as have original time of message sent/received. there is ONE CATCH until i figure a fix.
1) download the apk from
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8nhaqhqv8vyvhcb/SecMms-resigned.apk
2) use a file explorer and go to root system directory. /
3) go to /system/app
4) find SecMms.apk and rename it to SecMms.apk.bak
5) find the downloaded APK and copy it to /system/app
6) rename the copied apk from SecMms-resigned.apk to SecMms.apk then change its permissions to match all the other apps in /system/app
7) reboot
8 NOW THIS IS A MUST!!!!!!! after the system reboots, YOU HAVE TO DO A QUICK REBOOT if not it will not work.
after the quick reboot finished, go into you messaging, go to settings>mms and voila group messaging option is available.
every time you do a full reboot, after it boots you have to do a quick reboot for it to work.
i will try to get it fixed and post an update but for now this will do.
sweet! thanks

I couldn't stand the stock gallery so i uninstalled it and now i can't change my lock screen? So i went to titanium backup to restore it and it can't because it has a check mark next to wich means it just backedup the data not the app so i long pressed it and selected search market and downloaded/installed it and its the same version and it even let me restore the data for it but i still cant change the lockscreen it just force closes when i got to settings/display/wallpaper/lockscreen/gallery. I also noticed its now a user app before it was a system app i think, would that matter? Any ideas let me know, thanks.

You have to copy the app into system/app then install...that worked for me for another apk I needed installed into system

Where does the market install the apps i cant find it? And do i just copy the apk and paste to system/apps?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Ok i tried putting the gallery. Apk file i got from google in the system/app folder then installing it but it just installs it to /data/app. I also tried copying the installed file in /data/app to system/app but it still force closes when i try to set a lockscreen wallpaper. Is there a way to install a user app as a system app? Maybe if i cant get this to work ill just re-odin i guess.

Try to push the. Apk you got into system/app folder the reboot don't install it.
If that doesn't work after reboot, then install it

Well it worked as far as just pushing the apk into system/app and now its installed as system app but it still force closes so im just going to reflash. Thanks for the help though.

Use Root Explorer. Name the old SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.bak just in case somemthing goes wrong(Pay attention to permissions). Paste the NEW SystemUI.apk into the System/App folder, set permissions and reboot.

Sure. Use your root file browser to get to the /system directory. Replace the system.ui file that is there with Bigfau's modded version.
Fyi: Next time just post inside the q&a thread that is already open so that the forum is more organized.
Whoops! I'm too slow
A lot of thanks. I'm newbies, noob to android. Thanks.

The status bar should disappear when you rename it. That is normal. After you paste the modded version in the /system directory, the status bar isn't going to come back until you reboot.
If you rebooted already, I would double check that the file is there.
I do it,happy too. Now I'm testing it.
As a further problem, the clock can not I select update, always GMT,the GMT +7 time I need, how to fix this?

Ok, i have modified my flies.apk using winrar and when i pasted in system/app it was not fine. There were two my files . It should have asked to overwrite...
Then i deleted the old one and copied the new one. Then i rebooted it
Nothing was there. My new modified my files was not there. It was in system/app but not shown in app drawer(it was not hidden). I restored my old one (Thanks to titanium backup) but now it is not shown in system/app.
Well i want to know is there a problem in modified apk?
I have also signed it
I have used this method
Opened my files with winrar
Changed things
Closed winrar
Signed it
Is this correct?

I didn't mean mounting /system R/W
I mean your modded apk file permission, use an app like Xplore or Root Explorer to give it 644 permission in order to see it in the app drawer.
Or just install it as user app and use Titanium Backup to convert it to system app.
But how do i do with titanium backup as its not installed
In titanium backup old my files is shown not new one

So hope u guys like it
Give it a try
Just replace "SecMyFiles" or "SecNoteMyFiles" in your system/app n replace it with the one here -》 http://www.mediafire.com/?dyv6x3k7k3hxdf0
Change permissions to rw-r--r--
X X -

Delete the browser. Now locate the browser.apk in the system> app folder of your ROM.zip. Push the .apk to system>app folder on your phone. Set correct permissions.
That should work!
Hope I helped,

Hmmmm. If you really can't live without the browser, flashing the ROM again may be an option. Otherwise go for Opera Mini or Dolphin Browser. Chrome is just too heavy.
Hope I helped.
