[Q] Conection troublem OMAP 4430 - LG Optimus 3D

Hi everyone,
My P920 is bricked into a bootloop buy I can't even try any tutorial because the conection between the computer and the mobile isn't stable. I installed a few times the drivers, there are correctly and Windows get the device as OMAP4430 in the Device Manager (so, it's ok). But never stop to appear and disappear, connecting and disconecting everytime.
I've been looking for a solution this days but I didn't find any help,
Any idea of what should I do?
Thanks,
R

You must be logged onto pc as admin to uninstall old drivers and install new. Antivirus/Defender off when unzipping/unraring to prevent these from deleting files without your knowledge.

Hi ,
Follow this simple steps and it will be okay :
1. Install TI OMAP 4430 driver:
Remove the SD card and SIM from your phone
Remove the battery from your phone
Open the device manager and plug the phone to your PC
In the device manager, you will see TI OMAP 4430 appearing and disappearing
Double click on it when it appears and click update driver
The select Scan my computer for drivers
Then click on “Let me slect from the device driver list”
Ckick next, and now click on “Have disk”
Show the driver from the Flash Pack you just have downloaded
Install the unsigned driver and you are good to go
1.5 -. Run start_fastboot from the omap4boot-for_optimus-v1.11 folder and choose option 2, enter
1.6. Remove the battery from the phone and start pressing the Vol+ button.
1.7. Now connect the phone to PC, Omap4boot will flash some files and will wait for 5 seconds for you to plug the battery back.
1.8. Immediately plug the battery back (better have the phone turned upside down and the battery in the back but not loaded into slot so that you can load it into the slot quickly)
1.9. Phone will boot into GREEN SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD mode
1.9-1. disconnect usb cable and remove battery for 5 sec and put battery again and immediately press volume up till you see download mode again and connect it again to pc via usb cable
1.10. Go to device manager and change the port “LGE CDMA USB SERIAL PORT” to “com41″.
1.11.Run LGFlashTool.
1.12.In DLL select file “LGP920_110622.dll”
1.13. In S/W select only *.bin file that you have downloaded
1.14. Choice (Check) “USB” and click OK.
1.15. Click on Port COM settings(COM plug icon)
1.16. Click start(The Port 1 window should appear READY).
1.17. Disconnects USB cable and wait 5 seconds.
1.18. Press and hold voll up button in LG Optimus 3D and connect USB cable.
1.19. The update process will begin automatically after that release the “vol up”.
1.20.When the progress bar reaches 100%, Power ON the LG Optimus 3D.

[Q] think i bricked it good and proper

ok i need help please , i had gbread on it and installed superoneclick to get root then tried to flash cwm with vipermod. message said out of storage space or something (dont have ext mem only internal)and now phone will not turn on.
have followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1244490 and phone was recognised by omapp but couldnt change the port in device manager and couldnt find a bin to download so i tried to flash a kdz v21a
clicked start on lgflasher but nothing happened so after about 5 mins i cancelled it thinking without the port change it was a waste of time.
now i cant even get omapp to flash up when i connect phone . device manager refreshes but i cant see anything change .
hope thats enough info for some kind person to help.
many thanks in advance
marty

Where did you get vipermod from? The Transformer Prime forums? That's meant for the TFP and would not have worked with the O3D since it flashes to mmcblk0p4 rather than mmcblk0p. You should have used the flasher here.
Download this, this and this. Extract smartflash.zip, install both driver packages. Then, run Windows Enabler, in the notifications bar, click it and make sure it is set to 'on'.
Now remove your phone's battery and sim card, press volume up and connect your phone to the computer. Hold volume up until it is detected by the computer. It should take no longer than 20 seconds.
Now run B_SmartFlashTool_Extern.exe, go to rom copy d/l, select LGP920_CP.fls for CP bin and LGP920_AP.bin for AP bin. Make sure under communications setup that your phone is connected (verify the com port in device manager) and then click start. If all goes well, you'll have a stock v21D phone again
Thanks for the help guys but i'm not getting a com port when i connect the phone so i don't think i can use any of those methods . or can i
i want to go back to the beginning and see if omapp will detect phone and install drivers but i can uninstall the installer but dont think that will remove the drivers , does anyone know how to do that.(cos i think i messed that bit up )
thanks again
marty
vipermod , i think i followed a link somewhere in the o3d forum where someone said u could use it to flash cwm
so , i uninstalled all lg drivers uninstalled omap installer searched registry for for any mention of omap and deleted (some wouldnt delete ) .
restarted computer (xp by the way )
then installed omap installer and lg drivers and connected phone holding vol up
and................. NOTHING whereas yesterday i had a little icon in the task bar and the opportunity to install omap drivers.
conclusion , phone is dead , i had an oppurtunity to fix it yesterday and i blew it
hope someone tells me i'm wrong but its not looking good
marty
take off battery and just put your usb cable and tell us if it shows omap in your device manager
dont press keys
if i connect phone without battery device manager just refreshes a couple of times but nothing changes with regards to ports doesn't matter if i have vol+ button in power button in or nothing
thanks anyway
marty
am i getting somewhere
update : ok so i'm on a clean install of xp and i connected the phone with vol+ and it wants to install omap4430 drivers. is that good news?
i installed omapinstaller , then the 2 lg drivers ca and ma , then reconnected the phone and went thro omap driver install but still don't have any ports in device manager
is there no way i can force it to flash without it having to think it is connected cause if its recognising it as omap4430 there must be something there
don't want to give up on it too easy , if only i put this much effort into it whilst it was working lol
marty
evening all . new update
tonight i've installed the lg support tool and drivers and found that if i leave my phone connected i occasionally get "TI sample boards" popping up in device manager for a couple of seconds without having to press buttons , unfortunately it doesn't stay on for any longer with buttons pressed.
i was wondering how to force install the "LG CDMA composite usb device " drivers cos its never asking for them as it should according to the tutorial
hope someone can help cos i've seen a few threads with same problem as me

[Q] How to install AT&T RUU 1.83 (wifi fix)

I suffer from the wifi problem so I want to install this fix. Is it simply a matter of downloading the RUU, plugging my phone into USB of my computer, and running the exe? Or do I also need to download the HTC windows drivers from the root thread?
Any advice appreciated. I just want to make sure I know what to expect before I do it.
Step by Step Guide (for Windows):
1. Download the latest RUU for ATT One X from here: http://briefmobile.com/download-att-one-x-update-with-wifi-fix
2. Once you download the entire file (550+ MB) you will notice that this is an .EXE file.
3. Click on the file and run the program. it will start the installation wizard
4. Follow the step - as its shows up on the program screen
5. Enjoy your newly updated HTC one x 1.83
6. If you want to re-root the phone go to here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644167. this still works even for new update
hope this helps,

Strangely, this isn't working. I plug my phone in to USB (it starts charging), I double click the RUU exe, click "Ok" a few times, then it gets to a "Verifying information on your phone window," sits there for a few seconds, and then says "Error[170]: USB Connection Error. The ROM Update Utility cannot connect to your Android phone. Please check that the USB cable isc connected properly between the PC and your Android phone. Check the following: 1. The Android phone is connected to the USB cable. The USB cable is connected to the PC."
The phone is connected to the PC... it is CHARGING. I even tried again with USB debugging mode enabled and it said the same thing. Phone is currently in "Charge only" mode. Do I need to change it to "Disk drive" mode or do something else?
do you have the htc-sync installed?

You need to download HTC Sync. Google it and download directly from HTC Site. Let the driver get install including the software it came with. After you finish installation it will ask you to restart the computer (even if it's not asking just restart) and wait.
Then go back to RUU file you downloaded. Click to execute it and follow the instructions.
I had same issue and doing what I just describe here fix it.

Noob here.....any guesses from pro's as to how long until this will come OTA?
Someone mentioned that att has an ota release planned for May 28th
So, this is only for the At&t, is there any leaked fix for rogers?
Dumb question, but I'm new to android phones. How do you do a complete backup on the One X?
Root then install titanium backup.
I recently got my phone, rooted, things started crapping out and said enough was enough and decided to go back to stock. So I downloaded this RUU and started installing it. It's on the part that says updating the rom image. It has been sitting there for the better part of an hour. Anyone know why by chance? This is HTC One X on AT&T USA just in case someone asks.

I previously had continuing connect-disconnect cycle. But I managed to install all the drivers and connect to my P920.
It's possible wrong drivers has been installed, try to uninstall them all and restart your PC.
Are you Using Windows 7? try XP.
Make sure that the battery is taken out and you press and hold Volume+ button for several seconds while plugging your USB.
If you open Device Manager you can see OMAP4430- device appearing and disappearing. Try to rightclick on it when it's appearing (takes some practice) and then select properties in popup menu. Then Uninstall device from properties and update drivers to factory LG and Texas Instrumental USB drivers.
If nothing works you might want to try USB JIG cable with 910K resistor.
Good luck!
Thank You ^^D

p920 hard dead. impossible resurrection

my p920 is dead after an update to ICS with lgflshtool. it is off and there is never started.
I completely lost all the boot. There is an alternative method to omap4boot or os_hacking? they do not work for me.
driver, cable, battery is ok.
the problem is that I can not have in any way the COM port and the LG logo on the display. fastboot stops and gives me errno: 121. no dowload mode in any way. appears only OMAP 4430 TI board.

I can not in any way to see : LGE CDMA USB Serial Port.
tried it on 5 different computers (XP-SEVEN)
Did you uninstall all things LG from programs and features? Did you reboot the PC? Did you run the omap installer? Did you install the LG Drivers? Did you reboot pc again after that? Did you connect, the phone with no battery and volume held up? Did you then force the omap driver to install? Then did you disconnect the phone and reconnect it again with volume held up and let the LG drivers install? Did you then change LG CDMA port to COM 41?
If you did all of that....
With fastboot did you take the battery out of the phone? Did you connect the phone by usb with volume held up, no battery? Then did you let go of the phone? Did you then insert battery when it says 'wait 5 seconds?'
You can do it on 1,000 computers 1,000,000 times but if it is not done correctly it will never work.

yes to everything, BUT NO APPEARS LG CDMA PORT.
I always unzip everything on my desktop. perhaps this could be a problem?
one question:
have you ever had the screen off and no vibration in any combination?
another question:
You write in point f4 unistal OMAP4430.
because you need to uninstall OMAP4430 if it appears in TI BOARDS? maybe that is my problem? seems to me always and only in TI BOARDS!
QUOTE:
f4)Look for "OMAP4430" blinking on and off in Device Manager with a yellow question mark under "Other Devices." (You can let go of the phone). If you do not see it, look for "TI Boards" blinking in device manager and quickly open the arrow. Then uninstall that OMAP4430 (right click, check box to uninstall device and driver, confirm), disconnect phone and reconnect with volume up. Then...
If it has been installed incorrectly in the past, the omap device may need to be uninstalled under TI boards. Then catch it under Other Devices and point it to the right file to reinstall it correctly.
This is only one way to do this that I wrote because it is what has worked for me.
The omap4430 utility Dr. Mario mentions probably helps to do the same thing, but I have not tried it.

I just can't install the OMAP4430 drivers as in your guide. I couldn't unbrick my phone either when it was broken. But when I brought my phone to a local service he did it pretty fast. I followed the guide step by step but whatever I do, the OMAP4430 keeps blinking under TI Boards and my windows tries to update the drivers after I install them manually and fails because the device keeps connecting and disconnecting.

Be sure all things LG are uninstalled before starting. Any leftover LG drivers from previous connections of phone to pc will cause driver installation problems. Reboot pc, turn off all antivirus, antispyware, etc. Those can cause files you need to become corrupt or not appear. Then begin again. Check all details carefully. You can also run the command Karim Kahale described to stop the blinking if you can't catch omap4430 when it appears.
Unsigned drivers are a pain to deal with. It's fiddly but once you have it right, you can leave it alone and you will be ready for Fastboot, LG Flash Tool, Smartflash, ADB, or whatever.

Unsigned drivers are a pain to deal with. It's fiddly but once you have it right, you can leave it alone and you will be ready for Fastboot, LG Flash Tool, Smartflash, ADB, or whatever.

One more thing, run all installers as administrator if your pc account is not set up that way.

I only got my user on PC, so it's administrator. I also ran all installers with administrator rights. I`m not missing and skipping anything and I DO restart everytime it says there. No luck.
Battery out of phone.
Run the command lines Karim mentioned. They must be entered exactly. The blinking will stop and you can proceed with installing omap driver. Then you must disconnect and reconnect again with vol up to let LG drivers take.
