First let me say that I'm kinda new to android flashing and I'm learning, so please be understanding.
A few days ago I got in my hands an i9003 and decided to root and unlock it, I thought I had made an /efs backup, but, as a matter of fact this backup turned out to be empty, as apparently I didn't backup with root permision. A day later decided to install CM11 and I followed this tutorial: bit.ly/J5d5UL When I tried to install the ROM it rebooted and it got stuck in recovery mode. I read extensively over what to do, so I decided to flash back to stock (UBKB1, as I'm from Argentina and this is the Latin american Froyo stock). I've had no luck with this: it is now stuck with the glowing Samsung logo right after the boot animation. I've read that the CF-Root used in the tutorial, amit.bagaria one, it's intended to work with Gingerbread, and I had Froyo installed when I started the tutorial, ¿can this be the cause of everything? ¿Is there something I can do? I've also read to flash to KPE first and then on to others, but I'm worried that, as I don't have my /efs backup, I could lose my 3g and/or IMEI.
Thanks in advance, and also I apologize any grammar errors I could have as English isn't my native language.

sometimes while installing rom the phone automatically reboots into recovery.. but tht is normal.. then u have to again flash the rom ... but for now .. try clearing dalvik cache in recovery mode... and reboot .. if tht doesnt work then using odin flash back to kpe .. here is a video link http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2crS2rZgUQc&desktop_uri=/watch?v=2crS2rZgUQc and u can loose ur internal data so backup...
hit thanks if i helped
Thanks for the reply.
Sorry I didn't specify further, when it was booting continuously into recovery I tried to install the ROM, but it threw an error (#7 if I recall correctly) and then it kept looping into recovery.
I'll try to flash CWM now (as I don't have it flashed after flashing stock) and do the wipes.
EDIT: I've flashed CWM for the firm I had installed, wiped everything, reflashed and it still doesn't work, I'd like to avoid KPE until I'm sure I can recover the /efs folder as I don't want lo lose connectivity of any sort. Update: during wiping CWM said it can't mount /datadata
Thanks anyway
Last Update:I've got a KPE for my region so I've flashed it, I've also flashed amit.bagaria's universal CWM, it kept looping, so I tried to install the rom, unsuccessfully, it reboots on a different version of CWM, and if I try to install it again it says:

leave amit bagaria zip aside... flash this on kpe using odin link:- http://www.mediafire.com/download/vh701fh312la2v9/ZHKPE-CFROOT-25-05-2012.tar . after odin detects your device. go to PDA option and select this zip file from your computer and flash.. this will root your device and add a cwm recovery. and let me know what happened.. and even iam not a professional. but i were u i would have tried all possible ways.. have fun.. we ill get a way out of it..
hit thanx if i helped
Excuse me but, ¿PIT? ¿isn't it PDA? Also, that CWM isn't for the firm of the region I have, ¿wouldn't I have problems flashing that one?
I've been reading that it could be that the internal memory is corrupted, ¿is there a way to check this?

sorry bro ! its pda .. i havent used odin for months so.... and iam not sure region would cause any problem ! it will be better to consult a professional.... and even ill read about it and post if i get something..
Ok, so I kept reading about it and it doesn't seem to be a corrupted memory, there are some errors that should appear and they don't.
I've been recomended to flash to XXKB3 as it doesn't modify the IMEI file, and then if that doesn't work flash XXKPE; I'm having a hard time finding it though, as all hotfile links are dead.
Ok! I've flashed XXKP3 and finally it booted. I'll see to take other problems I might have somewhere else.

Just a quick question to double check.. I rooted my atrix 2 and installed CWM and took backup of my phone thru it. So two questions:
1.} Now to install custom rom, what should i do? directly now download and install thru cwm or need to flash any other thing?
2.} I accedently changed my stock battery icon thru rom toolbox pro and when i restore my stock rom thru cwm it says md5 check failed.. What should i do?
To install a Custom Rom only need access to CWM Recovery, and follow the installation steps of the Rom you choose, as there are two forms, one is restored and the other is flashing, so you should read the instructions.
thanks buddy!
I did not use rsd or did not flash fast bootfiles, are these necessary for installing custom rom? I guess not i am trying custom roms now..
And what abt the second question?

No rsd and fastboot files are for flashing back to stock in the case of u messing up your phone (soft brick or bootloop)

for restoring. do a few things. first, make a backup right now and try to restore it right away. If that works, something went wrong with your old one. you can open up the nandroid.md5 file within the backup folder and delete everything, that will make it restore, but it could cause some issues if it really was broken. Or it could not even boot, but that is what the fxz is for.
If it also fails, most likely there is something wrong with your sdcard. that happened to me. try formatting it WITH THE PHONE (backup anything that you need to since it will be wiped). if it fails both times the backups are most likely fine, so just delete everything in the nandroid.md5 file and do it. Keep in mind it may still have issues so be familiar with the stock restoring process just in case.
As always, i don't take responsibility for anything that happens.
What's going on guys,I've got a problem here that I need your help with.
After flashing a new 2.3.6 ROM my phone just won't boot up, here's how it went down.
I flashed the new ROM and it worked great for about 1 month and suddenly it stopped booting up, since then I've tried flashing a huge load of ROMs trying to get it to work but so far nothing has worked.
I've tried flashing with the MMC in, without it and I've also tried flashing with and without the latona.pit file, as I said above nothing has worked.
After the flashing here's what I see in the Android System Recovery Menu:

I can get the phone to download mode, and it shows the Samsung animation but without sound, and it keeps bootlooping.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ok, so you were running a custom rom for a month, and for that month there were no problems. then, all of a sudden, with no further modifications and no alterations of any settings, it quit working? was it having any sort of problems, like difficulty booting or coming out of sleep, etc., or was it really with no warning at all? there was no overheating at all either?
what were your governor settings?
you say that flashing pit, along with the roms listed above, didn't work, but what was the message you got after running it in odin?

It wasn't a custom ROM that I installed, it was an official one that was posted on XDA.
No errors were shown in ODIN, the only errors are the ones on the phone which I posted above.
Yeah, it stopped working without me doing any modifications.
I flashed a one file rom and it worked great for about a month then it stopped working and I downgraded to a 3-file rom, flashing the 3-file rom WITHOUT the External SD gave the same error I've posted above, I flashed it WITH the External SD and it worked great for a few months but when I removed the SD card while the phone was on, it would just hang and I would have to restart the phone again with the SD card in which made me believe the OS was installed on the SD card. But this stopped working after another month and here I'm.
The problem right now is, I get the error despite whether the SD card is in or out.
I've done some research on this and I see that this problem MAYBE caused by partitioning issues that could be fixed with "dbdata.rfs" IN GALAXY S, (the same error has been fixed on the Galaxy S with the "dbdata.rfs" file) but I haven't been able to find the "dbdata.rfs" file in any of the roms for i9003.
did u unmount ur sd card before removing it?anyway,u can continue trying to flash other rom available since u can still enter download mode.do try flashing with rom that got bootloader(4files rom) on odin.
anyway, this thread actually belongs to general section man.do explore xda properly before u start posting a thread..
in addition to what rarap said, switching your sd cards with the swap is one thing that causes problems. I'm sure you know the purpose of the swap, but in most cases (or all, can't say for sure), these swaps don't fix the commands for ejecting sd cards, so even though you do the "eject" command, it will still give you the warning that you removed a card without stopping it, hence the hang when you removed it.
do a full five file flash. backup first, then reset all data, then flash pit, then 4 files of kpe and then whichever GB you were using (PDA ONLY!) and do not make any mods. then see if you have issues.

It doesn't vibrate on boot but it does when I tab onscreen buttons on the UC kernel.

then flash KPU.. phon will still not boot
then install this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1021032&d=1335208703

btw you must be using a cooked rom this is a known problem i also had this prob in the past..

Lil troll. Lol
Try this bro
Flash phone with CWM use this one
Clockworkmod Touch 5.8.1.3 Odin tar http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1566613
Then wipe data/factory reset, format- system, data and cache, and clear the partition and dalvik caches, do that to all of them 3 times each, using touch cwm.
Then odin ICS download it from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/
(make sure only Auto Reboot is checked nothing else)
Once the phone loads go through the setup then leave it alone, let it sit for about 20min then flash back the CWM. Then download Superuser from here and put it on the root of your SD card then flash it in CWM if it fails just keep doing it until it works, it worked the second time for me.
Once superuser is installed install busybox from the market and everything will work.
This method worked perfect for me. The key is to wait about 20min after you flashed ICS before you do anything else.
Hope this helps you.
I have a problem. I really need my phone this evening so I really want help. My phone has a bootloop with every rom. Today I found out that it could have something in common with a error in the recovery screen which says it can't mount /data. CWM and the stock recovery both have this problem. Can please anyone help me? I'm really confused, because I have tried everything.
I've tried to flash many stock roms using odin, it also failed.
Thanks in advance
I think u r making mistake somewhere!
Try another one package firmware with different baseband bcoz sometimes basebands aren't compatible..

So one day i decided to root and eventually backup everything. So i went directly to this guide but didn't install the pernament cwm thru odin like the guide said.
I decided i didnt need root, and rather not have it on my tab and not knowing how to remove i decide just to flash back to stock HC the update
to ICS thru kies like i did before. so it just sat there in a endless boot loop for 30 mins going thru the samsung animation. so i figured i would
wipe cache and do a factory reset.
Now its locked at the samsung logo, flashed back to stock HC, same thing stuck, only download mode available wont go into recovery,
flash to leaked ICS that was in the guide above still stuck but i got the recovery 3e screen.
So i figured i just bricked it thru the EMMC bug when i reset/wiped thru the stock recovery.....
i went to this EMMC fix guide and from the recovery 3e i ran cwm.zip that was in the
root guide and ran emmc_find_brick_start.zip it scanned and never stopped just came back to cwm screen.
what next? ive been flashing different pit file, going back to hc and ics etc.........
i dont want to sound like a tool, although i feel like one ATM i really need my tablet. I'm on dialysis right now waiting

you made your life harder than it should have, to unroot, just install SuperSU, and use its "Full Unroot" function. Don't forget to uninstall Superuser. Note that for next time.
Have you tried flashing to any ICS stock rom through Odin/Heimdall? If you did, which one did you use? If not, you could try flashing this one from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777303 first and see how it goes.

sorry i had to edit my links, not enough post count to enable outside links.....
i tried to odin stock hc from the gt6210 root guide and on reboot i got errors, see the HC pic attachment
couldn't get the stock recovery, so i flashed cwm 6.0.1.9 and no matter how many
tries or button pushes i couldn't get in the recovery screen (battery symbol flicker for a sec)
Am i flashing incorrectly? i load up the files under PDA.
i then tried flashing GT_P6210_ICS_Latest_Leak_Odin_Package.zip from the same root guide.
and got more errors see "ics reboot"attachment
i popped the cwm.zip file (temporary CWM as described in the root guide)
cwm temp pic
i ran the 120824-151927-emmc_find_brick_start.zip thru this twice and it finished its
scan and came back to the menu.
i found a another version on cwm that can be installed by sdcard
now only then under ics and this version of cwm can i use the vol+ and power to get into recovery.
ran the brick start file here as well same thing ran thru then came back to the menu.
i'm rereading the EMMC guide again since i don't feel out of wack like the last couple of days
****update, i figure i'd flash ics and cwm 6.0.1.9 again and it finally let me get into the menu, now running the EMMC start
if you can successfully flash stock ICS (just flash it and NOT the CWM first) and it boots. , Then you don't have EMMC bug issues. Otherwise it would fail.

If I use Odin to flash stock HC or ICS it always says successful, on reboot that's when I get errors like in the attachment in my last post. eMMC files (start and end) they scan everything then says completed. It never froze at all.
If its not the bug what is it that gives those errors? Those stock files are from the gt6210 root guide and have used before.
So am I not flash correctly on Odin?

I still don;t understand what error you are getting.?
If you flash the stock rom in odin and nothing else, what happens?
IF you flash only the stock rom in ODIN and you still see what you show on the pictures when it boots, you have a corrupt update file on your SD card. Remove the SD card
