CM7 APN problem FIXED!!! (hopefully)

Hey guys, I've tried everything to get the cm7 APN problem fixed. No data connection sucks. Anyways, this is what I did-
1. Turn on WiFi and make sure you're connected.
2. Go into the Market, search "APN Backup".
3. Download the program called "APNsBU (ROOT)"
4. Open the program and click on the "Backup APNs" button.
5. After that's done, click on the "Restore APNs" button. It will prompt you to reboot your phone.
6. After the reboot, open the APNsBU program, click on the menu button on your phone and click "View APNs".
7. You should be able to see "Simple" and "T-Mobile US." Turn off your WiFi and you should be good to go!
This worked for me.
Doesn't look like it worked for me.
Thanks!! Worked for me I was getting super frustrated.
This worked for me as well, with the CyanogenMod-7-061420111 Nightly build. Thanks!
Hi, I had the same problem last night after I installed CM7. The APN disappeared and I could not connect through my data plan. What I did was I just pulled the battery out and put it back in and re-boot the phone. I just pulled the battery out when the phone was still on. I went back in APN and voila, I saw "Simple" and "T-Mobile US" again. After that I did a few more re-boot to my phone due to I flashed new Gapps, the APN problem didn't come back.
Great G2x APN CM7 Fix
Yes, this worked for me!! Thanks a lot for allyour help
I can't say that I've tried this, but every time my APNs go missing, going into ROM Manager and running Fix Permissions and then rebooting makes them come back. Maybe that trick will work for others too.
Hard reboot does the trick for me. Every time. Vol up + power.
Tried:
Hard Reset and battery pull, No success
APN backup trick, can't see any APNs
Rom Manager fix permissions.
Nothing works, APNs are gone for good, no data connection and can't add an APN, blank screen nothing happens.
:O Searched everyone on google and these forums i can't seem to find a fix :O
EDIT:
Had to wipe everything, reinstall latest nightly cm7, which worked but when i restored everything with titantium backup the problem came back so must have been some settings that were wrong. Only restored the apps i trusted with data, and everything is good now. What a pain

Thanks, very much! ... works fine for me.
Not tested with Cyanogen, but almost the same thing as you did.
Easy step by step instructions on how to fix the APN issue on the G2X.
No Root or even Flashing required . . .

its a known issue in ALL android 4.0.4 ROM's across ALL Phones.
Its a bug somewhere in google's code that is causing the apn loss and data drops in all ICS Roms.
(most of this thread was about a separate problem in CM7)

Flashed the newest Slimbean ROM on a NS4G and I can't seem to get MMS to work

So I fully wiped; Data, & Cache. Formatted System and wiped Dalvik Cache. Flashed the ROM and the appropriate gapps everything is running smoothly so far, but I'm having issues receiving MMS messages and I've tried sending from two different devices but still no luck. It brings up the message with the file info and saying downloading in a gray box on the right, but there is no way to view or access it conventionally from what I can see. Anybody out there going through the same thing? SOS
Thanks in advance
might try a bigmem kernal
works with air voodoo bigmem...
even w my krap signal at the house

First try a different kernel like the previous person mentioned or try Handcent SMS / MMS application from the market. It always saves me when a new ROM has MMS issues.
Good luck
Vs Nexus S4G using tapatalk2
Any suggestions for a particular kernel?
GNex BlackBean AOKP
Uncheck Auto retrieve from message settings. Then turn your data on and go to that mms you want to see. Then click download. That works for me.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2
one thing people always over looked: some telecom has a separate MMS APN, so if you are using their service, you have to set it up separately from the data one. hope this helps.

Deleted AT&T APNs But Cant Add Another

Sorry, but I've been searching everywhere to try and fix this but ive hit a wall. I have an AT&T MB865 and could not seem to change the APN settings or add any new APNs. The AT&T stock loaded APNs have been locked and uneditable. There was and still is NO OPTION to add a new APN.
I had trouble rooting this phone but just managed yesterday after doing a factory reset and used the one click root. I've installed root explorer, titanium back up, apn backup and restor, busy box along with super user and can get to the directories well enough.
i tried using APN back up & restore, but couldn't seem to add an APN or delete and APN even after using super user to give it system application status. I still get the error message stating that Android 4.0+ does not allow 3rd party applications to access APN settings.
In any case, i thought i would try to manually delete the existing APNs and managed to get into data > data> com.android.providers.telephony > databases and deleted all of the files in there per another thread. The APNs disappeared but there is STILL NO OPTION to add a new APN.
I am trying to load Straight Talk APNs in order to get data access. I can make calls, send regular texts, but cannot use data or send MMS.
Any help in getting proper APNs added and data working would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] AOSP unfortunately not stopped working error

I flashed my atrix 2 with Pacman JB 4.3 (official, august 2013 RC1). But I'm getting an error "AOSP unfortunately stopped working" for every few seconds. I tried removing the cache for AOSP under Settings->App. Still no use. I tried flashing the rom again, still the error persists.
And the settings menu is very small ( the list will be on the left and when i click an option, the relevant settings appears on the right ) ( Its more like two frames in one page ). How to change this too ?
gapps installed : gapps-jb-20130813
rom : pac_edison-milestone.1.RC1
Thanks..
Sounds like wrong gapps. But is correct tho. Try again. From start. Format system in bmm. And different gapps. To disable dual pane in setting, open hybrid engine and select 1.6 layout (if I'm not mistaken).
Edit:
You flashed 4.2 jb of pacman. That was why you got such error. Use 4.2 gapps.
Thank you so much. Works Great.. One more query, My atrix 2 is Indian Version. And when I flash with latest JB 4.3 based pacman nightly version, I'm not able to add APN (gprs) settings. When i click add and save the settings, its not getting saved. Its just blank.
I tried re flashing, erasing the cache, etc.
Even when i contacted the customer service ( carrier ), to send me the APN configuration SMS. My phone couldnt receive it. But as soon as i put my sim in another phone, all the config sms got received.
Thanks..
Idk. Mine was working great. Perhap you wanna give APN backup & restore a shot. Available on playstore. Be sure to read instructions there. It works for me major time.

Cannot get Mobile Data to work after installing LineageOS Custom Rom

Hi, I installed the Custom ROM LineageOS on my Samsung S5 phone. I have also added the GAPPS. The Wifi works but cannot get the data to work. I created a new APN and entered the settings carefully but didn’t work. I have tried restarting, removing the battery, removing and re-installing the simm card, deleting the cache from TWRP recovery, but nothing works.
There is a preferred network type and its set to LDE/WCDMA by default so not sure if this needs changing. Someone in a video also suggested changing Bearer inside the APN to include LTE and keep unspecified ticked too. But no luck.
I don’t want to have to go back to the Stock ROM as its slow and sluggish and full of bloatware. The phone runs like lightning using the custom ROM.
There was another thread that suggested downloading the GiffGaff App and let the App download and configure the APN settings automatically. I downloaded the app but can’t see any option for this.
Any ideas?
I had this problem before on other ROMs, usually removing and putting the SIM back in worked for me
edit: sorry- I didn't read the part where you said you removed and put back the SIM
