Had the phone for 3 days noticed a small blue dot on camera app and other defects the first is a screenshot of the stock camera app, the second is a photo on HDR I noticed some red and white dots on this. Was wondering what the issue is.

The red and white dots are iso noises overlapping themselfes which lead to significant distractions like they are in your case. Usually it's after 2 years (like it was with my Canon) so it isn't that normal. But if this problem doesn't appear in bright conditions it isn't that bad.
I'd be interested in photos in daylight. If the problem appears there, you should change your phone.

Is it just me or is the camera for this phone terrible in the dark with no flash? While taking a picture the screen starts to get all blue in the corner. Is this just an effect with the new 2.3.3 colors?

Heh that's the result of high ISO with a small image sensor. Most cell phone cameras will perform poorly in dark situations so they have to crank up the ISO to get a picture. Unfortunately this results in a ton of noise. Even dedicated compact cameras are crappy in low light... for real photography I always use my dSLR =\
Edit: Just saw this post below http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004661
Is this what you're getting? If it is, that's a bug in CM7 apparently. I'm running CM7 with netarchy 1.3.0 but I don't get thsi problem.

exactly what dinan said
with special emphasis even on normal point & shoot dedicated non-pro cameras
even the top of the line still sucks at night shots without enough ambient lights, or poor Flash flood
unfortunately dSLR cameras are too freaking chunky, heavy, and always uses special battery packs (which i hate)
I have this problem

Noticed something strange the other night. I was in a dark room and had Waze (GPS/Nav app) open. I noticed a slight red glow coming from the leftmost circle on the top front of the phone. Almost as if it was a camera filming with night vision. When I closed Waze the red glow went away.
Just curious what those two circles to the left of the front-facing camera are. Anyone know?
Can be easily Google searched.
One is a proximity sensor (proximity to your face to turn the screen off for example ), the other an ambient light censor, to determine how bright/dim the display should be

Thanks for the info.
Wonder why the left one was glowing red. Guess it does it's best in the dark to "sense" whatever it's designed to sense.
I've got problems with my nexus 5 camera. See the picture and video below with explanations.
Okay my camera started to show these lines on friday when i was at school.

hi, am I the only one to have all these "hot pixels" in the photos?
they are especially noticeable when low ISO and high values of shutter speed are set.
the first photos is taken by covering the sensor (so it should be alla black)
the second photo is a zoom of the first, the white points can be clearly seen
i can't shot photos in low light condition...and i have the same problem with my htc 10.
i think i will send the phone to a repair service
thanks
This is a dng photo of my dark room.
Iso 100/ ss 16 s
It's full of rgb dots.

Had a go and have similar results, getting worse towards the edges of the image, so I think it's probably not a fault per se, just noise. Smartphone cameras can't match up to professional cameras anyway but this is a bit disappointing to be honest. Unless mine is broken as well :silly:
i think it's normal to have some of this dots but not so many...with other smartphone like samsung or honor and the same setting there are no problem.
other htc users in the same conditions have no problem
i think it's a problem of the sensor. i will send the phone for a repair.

Cause those companies are a smudge feast and smudging just takes care of erasing a lot of those dots.

Has anyone of you observed? The camera has this major flaw.
The camera doesn't capture Red objects in real pure red color at all.
Instead camera captures Red stuff as Orange or Pinkish tints but not pure red.
This should has got fixed long time ago as many users facing this issue. And its a major flaw else images appear unreal.
I tried GCam and other apps but all capturing incorrect red color.
Any solutions?

Yes in early virsions of miui i tried in camera settings that increasing saturation and contrast a lil bit were solves the problem but now mi removes saturation and contrast option from camera settings ?.
