I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro+ which I have been using with my old Galaxy S running Cyanogenmod, and it worked pretty much as described in the user guide for the headset.
Call/Answer button - one touch to answer, one touch to (voice) call, double press to redial last number.
Vol up/down press both to mute, press both again to unmute.
Well, with my Nexus 5 pretty much nothing works.
Call/Answer button seems to be ignored.
Vol up/down simultaneous press starts music, press both again and music stops.
So is there *any* support for bluetooth call control in 4.4.2/Nexus 5?
Any suggestions how to be able to at least able to answer initiate a call via the bluetooth buttons?
It works fine with my LG HBS730 headset and the Sync system I am testing in a rental car.
Under Settings -> Bluetooth -> Paired Devices, have you checked the Profiles for your headset? Both Phone audio and Media audio are checked on mine. I did not do anything special when I paired the devices.

So you say yours works ... you can answer an incoming call by clicking a headset button? You can initiate a call by pressing a button to get the voice dialer activated, select your number by voice and have it initiate the call? No touching the Nexus at all?
And yes, both phone and media boxes are checked.
Hmmm... deleted the device, re-paired, and it now works ????
Thanks for the feedback, without knowing that it was possible to get it going, I probably would never have tried that.

Hi!
I have this problem; when I have an incoming call and I press the button of bluetooth hands free the call is rejected instead of being accepted!
Do you know how I can change this? Perhaps with a registry hack?
i bet you have a plantronics headset, i also have the same problem, though only with plantronics and not with other manufactured headsets. seems to be compatibility issue with wm6?
Hi,
No, I have a Philips HHB-600.
I have found a partial workaround for this that partially solves the problem.
By default, sound is redirected to the device when you press the device button to accept the call and to headset if you press the headset button to accept the call.
Set (or add if completely missing) the ConnectScoInAlways=1
under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway. This will cause the device to redirect voice always to the headset. Still accepting the call from the headset will not work but a least you will be able to use your headset to speak/listen and end to the call.
I'm sure you've heard of this issue before but I was unable to find a fix!
I have been using VC1.6 through strictly the device mic / speaker and it has worked great except for some reason it does not announce incoming calls.
Currently using ATT TILT with WM6
Using 520 Plantronics BT Headset
I downloaded "Bluetooth Voice Command Configuration" from XCSdM but it doesn't seem to do anything to help!
When I press the talk/end button on the Headset it enables the bluetooth static but it does not give the VC prompt.
I'd also like it to be able to announce incoming calls through the bluetooth!
Anyone?!
Well, I got the incoming calls to announce!!! Now all I need to do is find out how to get the VC1.6 and my bluetooth synced so that when I press my bluetooth headset button it activates the VC...
Please? LOL
Does your bluetooth headset support the handsfree profile? Not all headsets support the handsfree profile (even if you can use it to pick up and answer calls). I've got VC 1.6 and voice command working just fine with my Tilt and Jabra 8010.
edit: seems your plantronics does support the HFP. Did you ensure you "checked" the box for Hands Free Service when you paired it?
Yes, it's completely paired and the handsfree is checked :-\
I'm stumped. I get incoming call notifications, I get announcement reminders, etc.... but when I push the button on the headset it tries to initiate (or answer) a call.... If I hold it down, it powers off the headset. If I double click it, it calls the last person I talked to.
Maybe I just don't know how to function my headset to get it to prompt for VC?
I followed the "RandyRants" Tip to get everything working and it did activate the announcement of incoming calls, etc... just can't make commands yet.
I'm also using the BT VC Config enabled @ 30 duration.
I'm 1/2 way there!! Now I just need to cross the finish line...
Here's the link yo RandyRants that I followed: http://www.randyrants.com/2007/05/wm6_tip_voice_c.html
Any advice?
I just got a Bluetooth headphone/headset (with mic) to use with my GT7+ (GT-P6210 wi-fi only) and my semi-smart phone. The headset (Motorola MOTOROKR S305) has three different pairing modes: music only, phone only, and both.
When I pair it with my little phone, it automatically pairs as both. It works fine as a phone headset (mic and earphones), and it works fine as a stereo headphone with the phone's music player.
When I pair it with my GT7+, it automatically pairs as music-only. There is no microphone function. With Bluetooth off, I can make calls using the GT7+ built-in mic and speaker and the GrooVe IP app. No problems. But with the Bluetooth headset paired, I just don't get the mic function. I can hear the phone audio in the earpieces, but the mic is dead.
Is there any workaround? Is there a way to get the GT7+ to identify itself as a phone-capable as well as music-capable device for the purpose of Bluetooth pairing? (That's what I think must be missing.)
TIA.
I can't speak for that particular headset but I successfully use a jabra (phone headset only) and GV with my tab plus. However, before I had a A100 tab and I had similar mic problems with the same jabra headset...so the whole compatibilty thing seems to be hit or miss.
I assume you checked settings to confirm there are no options to adjust mic? Also, you might see what happens if you pair and use GV right after boot.

I did check settings and I didn't find anything relevant. I also tried pairing while GrooVe IP was running and logged into GV. I'll try that again right after boot. Thanks.
I've been setting up voice commands recently for use in my car. I have an HTC One M8, but I don't think my issue is device specific (this isn't really an issue per say, but a tweak that I think should be possible).
What currently happens is my phone connects to the stereo using A2DP bluetooth. It plays music and takes phone calls as it should. When I initiate a voice command, the music is paused, the stereo displays "voice ctrl", and the command is heard through the stereo microphone. The issue with this, is the stereo does not return to playing music after the command. I have to press the call button on the stereo to return to the music.
What I would like to have happen is when a voice command is initiated, the media volume is reduced (using Tasker), and the phone microphone is used without triggering the stereo.
I've searched a fair amount, but haven't found any solution for defaulting to the phone mic when bluetooth is connected. I'm convinced there has to be a way to do it, what am I missing?
Solved it once
I have a Htc Desire 600, and my way of solving it is at the call menu there are small icons while on call, there's a bluetooh option, phone option and a handsfree option, i kept the phone option on default, hope that helps
Cheers!
Both my wife and I have the Pixel 2 (non-XL) and both have LG Tone bluetooth headsets. I have the 810 model and she has the 820.
After receiving the 8.1 update, both of us can pause whatever audio is playing over the headsets using the headsets play/pause controls but both cannot unpause the audio from the headset.
This is pretty frustrating for both of us as we both tend to listen to a lot of audio books and it is a very common thing to do throughout a day to pause the audio then unpause.
What's interesting though is in my car (Honda Accord) I can pause and unpause without issue from the controls and in my wife's vehicle (Nissan Rouge) it works as well.
This would point to something specific with the LG's or they type of headsets or perhaps using a combo play/pause is the issue? In my car I have a separate button to play and to pause. In my wife's Rouge, it's on-screen touch controls, not a physical button.
Has anyone else run into this issue after receiving 8.1? Has anyone found any solutions to make it work again?
I have fully removed the headset and re-added it. I did a factory reset on my headset. Rebooted the phones a number of times. It will never unpause only but will pause the audio without issue.
Edit: I tried doing a "Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth" just to see if that helped and it did not reset any of my Bluetooth settings! I rebooted and tried again and it resets my Wi-Fi saved networks but my Bluetooth devices that have been or are paired persist. Has anyone else run into this?
I made a post over at Reddit about this as well.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixe...t_network_settings_pixel_2_nonxl_81_does_not/
Edit: I did a full factory image reinstall from the downloaded image via fastboot/adb and still have the same result.
I seem to be getting further by trying different combinations in the developer menu for the bluetooth settings. Now if the last used audio app is closed and I push play on the headset it will reopen that app. Prior to 8.1 it would do that and also start playing the audio from the last used app. It's a step in the right direction. I did find a workaround for my most used audio app which is Smart Audiobook Player under the troubleshooting settings to force pause/unpause which seems to work for just that app at least. I still cannot unpause music from the Play Music app or the Audible app though.
