This one is easiest and safest and reliable way to root with locked bootloader. And you know what it works with unlocked bootloader too.
Follow each step very carefully.

No I don't think so. I think it'll just reboot after you've rooted.

Just restart explorer will do rather than restart your pc..its something to do with the explorer and those scripts that make we're getting an error..

And yeah strictly follow these settings:
1.Security > Unknown Sources(tick) and Verify Apps(untick)
2.USB debugging (tick)
Because when unkown sources is not ticked the SuperSU app is not pushed through ADB

Install SuperSU from play store. SU binaries are probably installed, the apk's not.

Backup needed?
I'm pretty new to this matter, so excuse me if I ask stupid questions... Do you recommend a backup before running the app or is it not necessary? also, do I need a program to do a proper backup or do I just copy-paste card and phone memory into my pc and then copy-paste it back? Can a rooted device be connected to a pc or will this crash the phone?
Also when I tried to download framaroot I was asked to complete a survey - yes the kind of surveys that charge you an amount of money per week - is there any way to get past it? I don't want an untrusted source to get my phone number. Although they say you can cancel any time, I don't trust this kind of activities...
However, older versions, 1.9.0 and below are available w/o survey (idk if they ask for one when you run it). Should I opt for an older version? Is this ok?

Just Google for the latest version of the Framaroot, it's every where on the net, you don't have to get it from the web asking to complete the surveys.
Rooting by Framaroot is very safe. Backup isn't necessary as far as I did. My device status in still OFFICIAL upon rooted by it.

Hi folks , lost your root access after a Android backup ???
No need to root again and again ...
If you are using Superuser app just flash the below package for regaining root permissions.
Recommended for Samsung devices . Aldo works with other devices .
This package only upgrade your su binary and reinstall superuser app .
Code:
1 . Reboot into any custom rcovery like cwm .
2 . Flash the below package .
3 . [COLOR="Green"]Reboot and enjoy with root access. [/COLOR]
4 . Click thanks button or rate this thread .
What are you waiting for ? Do this and save your time

Hi!
I'm new on this forum and may on the wrong place but I ask your help rooting my Xperia C1505 single card phone.
Last year I could root it untill I updated the OS from the Sony site and since then I can't
do the rooting. I've tried a lot of ways what I found in the internet (EMMA, One click
rooting, etc,), all the Framaroot from the earliest to the latest too, but non of them was succesful.
The Framaroot says "Error #7". My phone has: Android 4.1.1, Kernel 3.4.0-perf, Build 113.A.2.23
I hope someone has the solution.

Here is the new way to disable powersaver icon without using xposed as now we r s-off unlocked on All sense Lollipop builds.
Download Android terminal emulator in play store
Open terminal
Type su to grant super user
Next type the command below
pm disable com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver
Make sure to use capital letters where I did
Also I did it with powersaver turned off then after I disabled it I turned on powersaver. Icon will be gone.
If this helped you please hit the thanks button.

I dont think it matters. Does it?
Flash TWRP From here
Flash Chainfire's SuperSu updater from here
If you don't want to flash the recovery, then you can do these commands instead
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery.img
This will preserve the original recovery, and root your system
Would this unlock the bootloader?

ohai hecatae
and yes this is for rooting. you need an unlocked bootloader to do this. I thought that would be clear..
Old root method
This is purely for historical records
Note: This method is long winded, and could result in no more booting if done incorrectly
This method will be replaced with a cleaner, faster method, and is only here as a reference for people who can't wait, or to see how it was initially done
Note:
I am not supplying any links to the tools I used (excluding make_ext4fs). This is because this is not a guide for the faint hearted, and if you don't know how to locate the tools yourself, you shouldn't be here.
This is only for Linux.
required:
The Phone
A USB Cable for the Phone
ADB
Fastboot
make_ext4fs (remove .zip off the end)
SuperSU update pack
make a working directory
Code:
WORK_DIR="~/moto_e_hacking"
cd $WORK_DIR
Fetch the system contents from the phone
Code:
adb pull /system system/
apply the SuperSU pack to the fetched system
for reference, follow the update-binary contents
You need to apply all the permissions the same way the update binary does as well
create a system.img
Code:
./make_ext4fs -a system system.img system/ -l 800M
flash the system image
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
sudo fastboot flash system system.img
This should take a few minutes. Ignore the sparse warning.
once this is done, reboot the phone. You should now have root
I'm currently building a recovery, so once that is done, we can just flash the update package.
Successfully Rooted! No issues at all.
Just take a backup of stock ROM

If you first unlock your bootloader, then flash the TWRP recovery image in the original post of this thread, and then flash the SuperSU.zip included in the original post, in that order then you will have root access. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
