I've just noticed that my SIM Tray isn't flush with the device, it dips in slightly where the the pin hole is, and I can feel a ridge if I run my finger over it.
Is this normal? Does yours do this?
I'm not sure if I'd bother RMAing it for something like this, but small imperfections annoy me!

My SIM tray dips in as well. It is a tiny bit recessed into the phone, I have no problem with it.

My SIM Tray is fully flush. I do have to note that I ordered my nexus on October 31st.
Mine goes the opposite way, slightly protrudes out. Doesn't bother me though wouldn't dream of RMA'ing over it

Luckily on my N5 the tray is flush.
If it weren't, I would complain only if it protrudes.
Sub-flush, is OK.

Has anyone felt any empty spots on the back of their device?
When I'm holding the device in my left hand my thumb is on the front and fingers on the back. My forefinger hits this spot right above and a little further back than the card slot, and the case indents then if I shift the weight of the device at all it pops back out making a clicking sound. When this happens I feel the edge of the back piece move under my thumb as well.
It is a terribly minor issue but it's also annoying. As I'm reading the back of the device is popping in and out just a tiny bit and clicking.
Has anyone felt anything similar on their device? Should I just get a case and forget about it? I would hate to exchange something for this tiny little issue but it is very distracting (to me).

yes mine does it 2 its a lump of crap. i hate it with a passion that's why im selling it on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170811319...LX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_964wt_1344 and now im buying a galaxy nexus haha now that's quality. also it will be getting the new android 5.0 jellybean this year. our tab is good but not for what i what. i can not use it with out a case as it will scratch to bits. its almost like Samsung made it form a melted down coke bottle
hmm ive always heard these tiny click-like noises when i hold my tab without a case. annoyed me like crazy. i was thinking is was somehow the sd card slot cover. i'll check it out...
Well 10 minutes after posting, the Poetic case I ordered from Amazon arrived. Problem solved.
Primarily I wanted to know if the flexibility of the back cover was unusual. It seems to be so that greatly reduces the chances of exchanging it for one that doesn't have this issue.
Thanks for the help.

I guess I'm lucky I don't have that problem. (knocks on wood)

I personally haven't noticed it, but that's also because I have a folio case for it. No big woop, it works for me I'm happy.
I use my GT-P6210 naked, with nothing but a screen protector, and I haven't noticed anything like this. I've tried some gentle probing to look for soft spots. Nothing. Feels solid.

I don't have that problem either. And I've even dropped it a couple of times.

My screen is a bit elevated close of sim card slot, they pass of the border of bezel, it's 'normal'?
I can feel the glass in this corner, different from all others corners.
Ty.
Glue, was the glue!
Heat and press the screen.
Tyvm ldriod!
I noticed this for the first time on mine yesterday.

I noticed this also...I have another P6800 and it wasn't as pronounced.
I applied some pressure to that side and it seemed to make some difference...

I applied too but they didn't lowered...and I don't have a Sim card inside...
The border is good to put they face down and don't scratch the screen, but with this protuberance this isn't good.
I thought mine was with issue.
Ty all!

Would you say this is a screen separation issue like with the nexus 7?
I've heard people try the clamping method where they clamp the elevated side then left some movie or app playing that heats up the unit so that the glue can re-flow...might try that.
Its near flat on my other unit, so this makes me wonder if this issue is on all units?

Wow it's true! Was the glue!!
I leave they inside the case and running NFSMW, they gone to 42c, I pressed the screen many times, while hot, and they gone down!!
When I pressed screen before heat, the screen make litle crack sounds, plastic sound, every time, now after head, they don't make sounds and the screen is perfect.
Tyvm!
Awesome!

Awesome, hopefully this works for others aswell, I have to try myself now lol.
Thanks for the thank you
anyone else have one like this that when you grab a certain way at the top, it actually feels like the entire body is shifting? like as if something is loose?
on many of teh GS3's i've noticed this. both of mine have it, but my boss's doesn't. I checked one in stock, it doesn't either.
the reason?
the battery compartment. on some GS3's (majority of what i've seen, actually) the battery compartment is like, a hair too big for the battery. therefore, when you grab the phone a certain way, the battery is actually popping out and moving a bit! this causes a weird body-shift.
some GS3's battery compartments are perfect size, and they're nice and snug on the battery (like my boss's) and there's no body shift.
so i took just a tiny piece of paper, not even folded, and i put one piece between the battery and the side on the left towards the top, and then on the top. no more body shifting!
Do not have this issue on mine.
I know other people who have them, will be checking as I come across them.
Thanks!

Jayochs, glad to see you. I had the issue with my last gs3. Is there any way you can film any type of movement and be able to send to me? Compiling a list of issues with refurbished phones to send to an executive.

hey man, go to settings >display> and untick"smart rotation" or go to settings>system> turn off "Motion" see if that solves your problem

Samsung does seem to make" plasticy" flimsy devices but they seem to be getting better. I was reluctant to buy my s3 because of that fact but now that I have it I couldn't be happier with it. Best phone I have ever had by far.

I've had the same issue with other non "plasticy" phones. The problem is the poor refurbishing of the phones.

mines brand new, and so is my blue one.
i can't film it because it's literally like a milimeter shift of the body..when you "twist" the body ever so slightly, you can see the battery start to pop out in the top left corner. if you hold it, you can feel this shift..but the "twist" is how you can accurately re-create it every time. put your thumb on like the top left back corner and your other hand on the bottom and just somewhat twist it to see.
just using it like normal use, i would notice the shift as well. my Nexus 7 does the EXACT same thing, but the nexus 7 causes pressure on the screen, which makes the blacks look whiter because the screen seems to be pushing against the glass, or the back or something. my N7 shifts pretty badly lol so that's how i started noticing it on my S3.
mines still shifting even though I'm putting pieces of paper to try to settle the battery in. If you twist the frame slightly with the back cover off you can see the upper left corner of the battery pop out and you can push it back in.. so the frame is moving the battery around meaning the battery compartment just isn't a good fit with this body design on some phones.
which unfortunately created creaking and popping noises like mine has... kind of annoying now but at least it's not as bad as the battery door creaking on the rezound.

OK guys, I'm writing to see if this is normal, but, if you lightly shake your phone side to side do you hear anything slightly moving about up top? Also pop out your Sim and Sim tray and shake again, does it get much louder and sound more loose?
I'm trying to figure out if this is normal and if its just the tray mechanism, or if there is something actually not right with my new phone.
Sent from my LG-D801
Can someone try the above? I suspect it's my Sim card mechanism and Sim card itself. It fits very loosely into the tray.
Sent from my LG-D801
I also hear this. Don't know what it is. Maybe it can multitask as a baby rattle.
Seriously it's probably what you said, but it doesn't affect the functionality. I'm not concerned in the least.

If you remove the sim tray you can slide your finger nail between the front and back of phone on the sides to pop the back cover off or use an opening tool like on this video. It will give you a better look to see what's going on with the back off.

I never ad any issues with my phone. working at it's best.
That's nice as I've never either, but in the event one feels they might have something loose this is a way they could open the phone to look for themself.

Just got Note 5 and the stylus is not quite flush with bottom of device. It protrudes just a bit and it's a little bit annoying but was wondering if anyone else has same issue.

I bought 3 and the pens are not flushed with any of them. It doesn't bother me; the top of the pen is not curved to match the contour of the corner.
The one I demoed in the store was actually flush.
It's very slight but I just assumed it was to make it easier to push in to release it.
I can feel it slightly also. This could be by design to make it easier to "feel" for the pen. If it was 100% flush with the phone it would be more difficult to feel without being able to see it (for example, during the night in bed)...
I think they are all like this, so it's not a defect with your particular phone.
My s pen was flush in the beginning. Now it's not. I am a heavy s pen user. I'm wondering if the spring inside was too compressed and now it has loosen. Not happy. ?

If you run naked it would be annoying, but if you use a case it really wouldn't matter at all.
