Is there a (kernel) dev who tried to make a 3.9 kernel. Because the new kernel have some improvements.

A dude from the Note 2 forums did it. So i think there is somebody who can do it for the Nexus 5.

I'm not sure if I am posting in the right section or if I should be posting in Development. But anyway.
I'm away from all my build machines for the next week or so, but could someone build me a kernel for a NS4G?
Stock kernel based off 4.0.4 source, with BLD, Blue-Colors, Lazy and Smartassv2 governers (plus stock and whatever else you wish to put in). And if possible BLX with 100% or the 100% cosmetic fix?
Bump... anyone?

Hello, i have downloaded and flashed my I9001 with [ROM][ICS][IMM76L] CyanogenMod 9 by ivendor - beta 2. I have a question about that rom. Can other kernels be installed using that Rom so that it can be overclocked and thus resulting in more performance. Im asking that because that Rom is quite perfect( ignoring the camera problem which after 5 pic gets jammed!). It would be nice if other kernels could be used. Im looking foward to know about it. Thanks in advance and cheers
Hi.!! 4.0.4 roms with aokp or cm9 sources used Vitality kernel before cm9 build 5 and Arco's new kernel.. So try if u can flash and use Vitality kernel
* sorry for my English

You shouldn't use that kernel, it's very outdated. The only ICS kernel that is updated frequently is the CastagnaIT Kernel. I would recommend to use that one if you want OC/UV support
Hi guys
I am a new user for Nexus 5 which is also my first Android device.
Can anyone tell me what is the source of Mahdi-Rom?
Can I flash Franco kernel for this ROM? I noticed the the Franco kernel is not compatible with CM sources. So I want to confirm the source of Mahdi-Rom in case it is from CM source.
Pls help :banghead:

I believe it's ASOP base but has some CM aspects.
Either way if you check the 5th post of the Franco kernel FAQ thread it lists Mahdi-rom as supported

Hey back from playing with the note 3 the past few months. Running cm11 on my red nexus right now but I've fallen off the kernel game. Any recommendations? I remember running Mahdi ROM with a experimental x kernel. Looking to oc this a little bit
Just look for the features you want. Find the features because otherwise, they're all good.

and its cm, so it has to be a cm compatible or CAF kernel. aosp kernels will not work on cm.
Just flashed cm caf experimental express and all is well. Thanks guys
Come on dude.. At least say the name correctly.. It's ElementalX

Was just wandering why google didn't update the kernel on nexus 5?
Nexus 9 and 6 has 3.10 kernel so why not us too?

Wich are the updates on it?
The N5 wouldn't benefit from a kernel update at all. So a better question would be "why bother updating the kernel for nothing?"
Google doesn't bump kernel versions, the N7 is using 3.1 on L
@Rusty! The only time they did it was on nexus s from gb to ics
Tickless kernel can for sure improve battery life. Not sure why Google didn't give us 3.10

At least any one know if any dev is working on bringing us linux kernel 3.10?
I remember someone saying on the nexus 4 forum that qualcomm has official support on hardware from 800 and up for linux kernel 3.10!
Any one has some more info on that?
Its not going to happen. There is no point.
The only difference to a user would be a higher visual version number (which apparently makes all the difference to them lol..).
