[Q] Hang Up with power button - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the Moto G. I have enabled the hang up with power button which I find quite useful. However if I am using speakerphone I have no way of unlocking the phone to turn it off or use the phone at all without hanging up, apart from disabling the feature is there any fix? Thanks

I have the same problem!
I also use the power button to end up the calls and then I cannot unlock the phone during the call.
Anyone has a solution? Does this also happens in kitkat version?
Thks

How can phone recognize that you want unlock device instead of end call? It's impossible...

[Q]How to prevent black screen during calls

I'm running all stock on my Nexus 5 with 4.4.2. If I talk on the phone with it next to my ear the screen turns on and off as it should, so I know that the proximity sensor works. If I use the speaker phone and have the phone away from me, the screen goes black after a minute (which is what I have the screen timeout set to). The only way I can get it to wake up is to hit the power button. This is not a big deal except if I want the power button to end calls. Is there a way to wake the screen after it times out without using the power button? Or, is there a way to tell the phone not to shut off the screen during calls?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Disable Force Shutdown/Power Off From Long-press Power Key

Hi all, wanting to make my phone completely thief-proof here, and one of the things I'm wanting to disable is the ability to force-shutdown the phone by pressing and holding the power button.
Is there an Xposed or anything that can negate this? or is it, as I fear, just a hardware configuration that cannot be stopped? If this is the case, can a tasker task that disables the power button when my phone disconnects from my Smartwatch be a solution? I use a OnePlus One so not having the power button functioning when I don't have my Smartwatch is not an issue because I can double-tap the screen to wake it.
Anyways, simply want to disable someone from being able to power off the phone if they take it and don't know my passcode (I already have a fake power-off popup when the phone is locked, so all that is left is to make it so that a thief can't force the phone off).
OR, failing this, worst case scenario, can I put a password on TWRP recovery so that my phone can't be reset if it is powered off?
Thanks,
Michael

Custom button mapping?

Hey guy !
I am not quite sure I am in the right forum, so sorry if I am wrong in choosing this one.
I have an issue with my Nexus 5 where my power button does not work anymore. I have opened and tried to replace the button, with no real success... I was able to power it on by hand and I am wondering if there is any way to map the button (the one that are still working...) of my nexus 5 to custom actions.
Right now I have downloaded an Apps that let me use the volume down to wake up the phone. I have also changed the mapping in the keylayout file to wake the phone. But I am pretty sure if my phone dies or if I turn it off, I will not be able to turn it on. I was wondering if there is any way to map the volume button permanently to the power button, so that I can close and turn on the phone. (mimic the exact behavior of the power button) I am not yet familiar with custom roms (cyanogenmod and stuff), but I have heard that my solution might be somewhere in those custom roms. I have done quite bit of research, but only found solution to wake up the phone, not turn it on or off.
I really need your help with this one.
Thanks a lot in advance !!
No.
Remapping keys requires software
Phone off = no software running = no key remapping.
Mmh ok,
I thought there would be a way to modify something at a lower level than the OS that would allow me to do it.
Another idea then... Is it possible to send a boot message by USB to the phone ? There must be some kind of software running because when it is pugged, an image is shown with the battery charging, so is there any command I could send to boot it up ?
Thanks again !
EDIT : I found a kind of solution to my problem. It does not map the power button to the volume button, but I guess it is the same thing as sending a boot message by USB. By setting the variable oem off-mode-charge to 0 with fastboot, if the phone is powered off, it will boot it up if connected by USB. In case anyone stumble on this post...

Honor 6x Microphone Muted in Bluetooth phone call

I love my Honor 6x, except I have this problem:
When I am in my car and my car's bluetooth is connected, and a phone call comes in, the car's bluetooth speaker rings the bell, and when I pickup (using the button on my car), I can hear the other party, but they can't hear me.
The bluetooth volume is at max. The car's bluetooth mute is unmuted.
This happens in all my cars so it is not the car's problem.
When this happens, switching back to earpiece or phone's speaker doesn't make any difference. The other party continues to not hear me.
Is there any place in the phone where I can mute/unmute bluetooth?
No, the bluetooth mute on the phone application does not have mute on. The calls work fine as long as I am not on bluetooth.
I have been trying to boot into Safe Mode to see if any app is causing it, but so far I haven't had any luck. I have tried the volume down method to no avail. The Honor 6x does not give any options when pressing Restart or Power Off to choose to boot in Safe Mode in next cycle.
Any help will be appreciated.
I have the same issue without any solution for the moment. Anybody have an Idea ? Thanks

Hi liko,
I was able to figure out my issue. It was an app.
I was able to boot it into SAFE MODE. In SAFE MODE the phone doesn't load the 3rd party apps, so you can find out if it is an app causing it or something wrong with your phone. Here are the instructions.
WARNING: all the icons will be shuffled around when you will come out of the SAFE MODE.
1. Power Off
2. Press the power button to turn ON.
3. Wait for honor logo to vanish.
4. As soon as it vanishes, press and hold the volume down button.
5. It should boot up in Safe Mode. You should see SAFE MODE written at the bottom left corner.
The key is to press and hold the volume down button AFTER the honor logo vanishes.
To come out of SAFE MODE simply restart your phone.
Thanks a lot for your answer shah123 but I will have the same issue un safe mod. I have a galaxy Gear s3 and the other can hear me when I use my Watch... And other phones work perfectly un my car... It's a real problem for me

I have the same problem with 6X. It resumed mic service after update on 27 Nov 2018. But after working for 24 hours , the fault has now reappeared. Any solution?
