Tap to Pay Option? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just went back to Stock 4.4.2 from Cataclysm ROM on my Nexus 5 via this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507861
Now, I've noticed this before back when I was stock ROM and now, I noticed this yet again. The "Tap to Pay" option in settings is not present. Has this happened to anyone else? And if so, is there a way to fix this?

Do you have NFC turned on? It wont show unless that's on.

still get greyed out bars????

I tried no bars and it works but crashes the phone if left in airplane too long and i still have to toggle data or reboot.
Could this be a hardware problem? Ive tried all differant roms and they all do it. I set the carrier menu a bunch of times, but everytime i go into it it still sets itself back to GSM/CDMA auto. Im not sure if its actually setting itself back or just thats what its on whenever you go into the menu.
Its really annoying because i get crap service at my desk and if left alone and not in the perfect corner of my desk it will grey out completely and i get so data or phone until i toggle.
pissing me off.
anyone know what could POSSIBLY be doing this?
Any suggestions on a good rom that might fix this. Im using one of the stock rooted right now.
just a lame-o bump

Nexus 5 keeps crashing/rebooting

Hey guys,
I just picked up my Nexus 5 and I noticed especially on cameras my camera stops responding and I can't even click "OK" or "Cancel" it's just frozen and i have to reboot it. THis happened to me 10 times in the last hour now... any ideas?
did you do anything to the phone?
root anything.
everything is stock?
Mine does the same thing. It was doing this from day one and now it keeps doing it after I rooted..
Not sure what the issue is, but I probably have to restart my phone about once every three days.
Oh btw, I use face unlock so its really annoying when the camera stops working
I would suggest using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513937
or this toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517778
restore to stock completely, break the root and see what happens.
edit: this one as well I think it will be easiest and then try again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525026
need more information if you are loading a custom rom/ kernel etc. I know you probably are not but we cannot assume anything.
My Nexus 5 does this even after a full refresh mainly when not touching it. I updated to 4.4.1 and still no luck. Did you resolve yours?

My Nexus 5 is constantly rebooting itself every 5 seconds. There's no time to try any recovery option while it is turning on because it turns off immediately. Do you have any possible solution for this issue as well?
THANKS!

Possible bricked - help

Ok, so I wanted to return my phone to stock, so I attempted the procedure posted in this thread.
However, now it won't turn on or anything. No backlight, no button lights, no anything.
Is there any way to fix this? I tried plugging it in to my computer, but it doesn't appear to show up.
I get no indication that the phone is even turning on. I think the issue is I might have accidentally flashed the wrong model but I'm sure I didn't.
I have the AT&T Nexus S which according to Google is GT-I9020T. Which is what that thread says it's for.
Any ideas? Luckily I have a backup phone, but it's not a smartphone....
Edit: I came from the CM11 nightlies, and yes, I did wipe data and cache before rebooting.
The way you say it, seems it is time to say good-bye...

WiFi is showing as on even when off

I looked at my batter stats, and it shows my WiFi as always being on even if it is off. Is anyone else seeing this? If so, is it just a glitch? Does anti e know how to stop it?

'Feature' of android 4.4
Go into WiFi settings and turn off 'scanning always available' (or something like that)

Thank you for this! I also noticed this and had no idea! Maybe after turning this feature off will help save some more battery life as well? Guess phones these days aren't so simple anymore, you would think when you turn wifi off that it is OFF! No, only off to some degree, lol. Damn phones these days always cheatin on us usin backdoors to get their way, haha!
Posted this on another thread. Maybe relevant to you here.
I seen this same issue, and I'm using nova.
I found a solution, that worked for me.
It seems there are two different WiFi setting pages, depending on how you get to them.
One way is settings > WiFi
The other is via quick settings swipe down > touch "Wi-Fi" below the icon.
I've seen the first way show WiFi as off while the second shows it on at the same time.
What I've found is that the only way to truly ensure it is off is via quick settings drop-down.
Hope that helps others.

[Q] Connection Optimizer randomly crashing. Anyone else?

So today, the Sprint Connection Optimizer (which I dont use) has randomly started to crash, especially when I turn on my phone. I switched to ART runtime yesterday but saw no problems all day, just started this morning (I suppose it could be due to ART). Anyone else having this issue? Perhaps I turned off something I shouldnt have in the application manager but I really havent touched the phone this morning.
Same here. I'm still on Dalvik and it didn't happen until I actually connected and saved a WiFi AP. Anyone else having this problem since CF-Root + Xposed?

For me, it seems to happen when it grabs a new connection. If I join a new wifi network, itll crash a few times. If I jump back to LTE, same. Back on my home wifi, crashes. Get a phone call where it goes back to LTE then back to wifi, crashes.
Pissing me off b/c I have it disabled but I cant freeze the damn app.

It is ART. I had the same problem. I switched back and turned the all the animations to off and it seems way faster than with ART on. No more connection failures.
Same. I switched back today. No more errors.
