Two minor issues with Chrome and charging. - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone!
Still very happy with my Moto, but I noticed two small issues and I'm curious if anyone else has them.
First of all, some times Chrome is flickering when I'm selecting one of my open tabs. It doesn't happen all the time and it only happens on the tab selection screen. No other apps are flickering. Chrome is updated to the latest version.
Also, I have a small but kind of annoying issue with charging the phone via USB. If my PC is on it's charging just fine. Charging from a power outlet works as well. I also have no issues with the battery at all, I am very happy with the battery time I'm getting so far.
However, I can't charge it through my PC over night. The cable is hooked up to a USB hub which is itself hooked up to a power socket. So even when my PC is switched off it still has power. I charged my LG Optimus 2X that way without any issues at all but it's not working with the Moto G. It stops charging when the PC is turned off. Is there a way to change that? I have a habit of just hooking my phone up to my PC when I go to bed so this is kind of annoying ^^
Thanks in advance for your answers!

Has HTC fixed the charging problem while the phone is ON

Hi All,
I've got a P4000 (Titan), and battery performance is awful when I run a program called Konoma to listen to internet radio stations.
With a fully charged battery (I have three that I rotate), I can barely get an hour our of it.
What really drives me insane is that while I'm driving, with the phone plugged in and charging, via USB, the battery STILL continues to drain. I'll get more than an hour, but eventually the battery dies.
I read that this is a problem inherent with the design of the P4000; it can't charge, via USB, while the phone is ON.
I was looking at upgrading to the TouchPro 2, but read that it also has this problem.
I like HTC products, and I love this site as it has allowed me to have fun with the phone, flashing, etc.
Does anyone know if all HTC phones have this problem? If not, which ones have fixed it? I'm hoping to get a fully-featured phone like the TP2, as long as it'll charge while ON and plugged into a usb charging port.
Thanks for your help,
Craig
I have a Touch Pro and it works fine plugged into a USB port charging while on in my car (that's what I use for GPS on long distance trips)

[Q] Optimus 3D not charging and freezing

Hi to all!
I have this phone about 4 months now, and the phone sometimes wont charge when I plug it in. Also, sometimes when fully charged, it freezes and I need to pull the battery out and restart it. I could not charge it last night and when I turned the phone off and re-inserted the charger plug it charged normally (apart from phone being off).
I have taken it to the dealership service since it could not connect to the wifi and drained battery really fast after that and they changed the usb socket and reinstalled the software. The phone passed all their tests, and it connects to the wifi flawless now, but this charging issue is really bugging me. I almost overslept one day not knowing that the darn thing has frozen.
The phone has all the stock firmware and the OS is 2.3.5.
Any help appreciated..

It's your cable mate i had the same problem the cable LG gave us is cheap you need to buy a good usb cable. I use my Htc desires cable not only does it fit it is stably connected and doesnt move about in the socket i use the lg plug of course but the htc desire cable... Sorted..
Before i used my htc cable my charging always got stuck and i would have to pull the battery now i don't have to do that.. Also the lg cable damages the usb socket on your phone quickly i suggest get a cable if it does that then have it fixed and never use the LG cable again...
Really?!
That is really good news than!
My wife has Galaxy Ace and I did use her charger several times in the past and I had partial success with it, sometimes it would charge, sometimes not, but I never tried it after servicing the phone.
I will try it, thanks for the reply...

Charging issue

I've motorola quench phone, i noticed something weird. on various occasions when I plugin the charger or usb cable connected to computer the phone doesn't pickup the connection. It just doesn't detect the connection. the battery doesn't charge and the charging led doesn't turn on. But when i restart the phone, the phone gets detected or starts charging. I've tried multiple cables and multiple roms (even stock rom). Has any seen this issue with any android phone? Looks like a software issue to me.
Any help is really appreciated.

Slowest Battery Charging

Alright, so here is a fun issue to deal with. My notepro has always been a little slow to charge, but most of them are. However, its gotten very bad.
I have had issues with screen flicker and a little heat issues and some other small things off an on. So, fed up with it, a few days ago I rooted the tablet. It worked fine. Then I tried to install a new kernel and rom that was getting good reviews. However, when i did this, I couldnt get past the boot screen. Several reinstalls of stock and customer kernels later, my tablet started flashing and eventually died. When it was plugged in, it would show the battery icon with a circle in the middle but then die. Several tries to fix only seemed to solidify the tablet's fate.
However, yesterday I gave it another shot. I assumes the tablet had heated up and made the solder loose, so after a while it was solid again. It started charging, and after reinstalling stock rooted rom and stock kernel repeatedly, it was working again. I then installed the rom and kernel I was trying to before (I had to have a custome kernel to be able to control voltage for the screen flickering issue).
Now it is actually working. All functions are working, and oddly enough I am not seeing any screen flickering.
Only one real problem remains. Battery charging. The battery is charging so slowly that when the tablet is turned on, it doesnt charge at all, it creates a stalemate between charging and draining. It also drains pretty quick. The power drops about 5% in about 5-10 minutes of full screen brightness use (I was testing it this way to try and see if it would flicker again.
Its been charging for about an hour now, and only gone up 5%.
I have tried a couple cords and different bricks, but to no avail.
There are some thoughts, I am wondering if the tablet is only drawing power as if charging from usb, so only around 0.5a instead of 2.4a or so . I am also wondering if there is still a hardware issue.
I do not think it is the rom or the kernel, as this issue was happening as well after I got the tablet working again on stock but before I tried isntalling the rom/kernel again.
Any suggestions? I would be very appreciative.
I had simular problem with very slow charging, reboots and bluescreen. I opend my note to check battery plugg for broken soldering, but I found no problem with it. But to check turely i unplugged battery from main bord and replugged it again. After that I had no problem at all, now its charging normal, no reboots.. stil working perfect after averyday use for about 8 mounts......
If you are using usb cord not usb3 cord it will charge very little when using tablet . Mine will charge when off and below 25% to full in 7 or 8 hrs overnight.

Could be a bad charging port dock/flex cable. These are actually pretty easy to replace and can be found on Amazon. I had to replace one on mine. Try searching for a usb charging port dock flex cable for samsung galaxy note pro. That will cause the issues you are seeing. However the screen flickering sounds like a voltage issue caused by a cracked solder pin from the battery connection to the board. Which is very common on these and hard to see without an electronics magnafication glass. You could try taking the back off and pressing the battery connection firmly while plugging in your tablet and powering it one to see what happens. Either way sounds like a hardware issue.

Ok Guys, had the same problem with my 12.2 samsung tab pro, changed usb chargers, cables etc.
Found that the connector on the tablet itself (female) did not made good contack with the male usb.
So i simply , very careful, with a pair o pliers closed both tips on the usb conector, so the cable enters more tight. And voila, the usb amp meter i had showed a rate of charge from .33 amp , jumped to 1.73 witch is more than enough to charge and use tablet at the same time.
You need to do this at the end of the cable that plugs on the tablet, that is kind of double, maybe a e.0 usb or something like that. Make sure to close both tips. You want a tight connection

Charging problem/USB not recognized

Hi all,
Anybody experiencing slow charging from time to time? I noticed when I plug in the phone to the outlet it doesn't recognize the cable instantly and the phone vibrates three times then the charging indicator turns on! I tried to plug in the phone to my PC and it was not recognized by it.
Two days later the problem disappeared and everything was back to normal, charging fast and able to connect it to the PC.
Now a day after that it's back to the old problem!
I am not sure if that is a software issue or a hardware defect!
Any ideas?
PS. I tried two different cables and another AC adapter

Good day,
I am having the same problem. Any updates, solution or ideas regarding to this?
Hope for a reply soon.
Thank you.
I'm using XC but am having similar issues lately. This problem has also disturbed BatteryCare because it thinks the phone was plugged and unplugged repeatedly.
