1. Download MTK6577 Drivers.zip and unzip/extract on your Windows PC, just run InstallDriver.exe to install drivers.
2. Download CWM Recovery v6.0.1.5 + scatter.zip and SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1220.02_FOR_S101A.zip , unzip/extract them.
3. Now open extracted SP Flash Tool folder and run Flash_tool.exe
4. Click on "Scatter-loading" button which is on the right side below Downloading Agent. A new window will open. Browse to the extracted CWM Recovery v6.0.1.5 + scatter folder and select MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt file.
5. Flash tool will populate the Map file on the application window. You will see multiple entries. Uncheck all entries except for RECOVERY.
6. Now click on "Download". Warning message will occur, but ignore that and click Yes.
7. You will see in the status bar below "Searching", now connect your phone (with battery inserted + Press and Hold Volume Up Key) via the USB cable.
8. Wait for the process to finish and then you will get a window showing green circle.
Very Easy & safe way to FLASH CWM RECOVERY in any Android Device
steps:->
1. Downlaod CWM recovery.img
2: download recovery manager from HERE now Copy CWM recovery.img in SD card, now install the recovery manager.apk normally
3. Now open the recovery manager app you recently installed.
4. Click on recovery in app menu.
5. There click on install recovery
6. Then click on the recovery image name of ‘recovery.img’
7. Let the app install the recovery. after it done a message will show.
current recovery : unrecognized…. just ignore it.
That’s all now you have installed your recovery

Congrats You have flashed CWMR !
Note: If you get any error in SP Flash Tool, then recheck your MTK drivers installation or manually install them through device manager.
Booting into CWM recovery is the same as in the stock recovery. Switch on the phone with "Volume Up" and "Power" button Pressed. The Phone will boot into CWM!

For Installing Driver just Run that exe file if you are in Win 8 then try this
Right Click on file and Run As Administer then finish instillation and Reboot PC then connect your device.....

Dude, that just means that drivers aren't compatible with Win8, just use your friends pc or other pc with xp/7, you can install TWRP which is touch friendly (same as cwm) here

its not working in xp ............
and can u specify the time required for process to complete .....
The progression bar is not showing atleast 1% after the 10 min.......
can u make tke video of it.......

U should know that the s/w that u recommended is not working in MICROMAX A 89 i.e (mobile uncle tools)

yes u r right m. Uncle tools not working for me in my A89 /A90 and my A90S.... thats why i recommended sp flash tool methods its working fine without any problems......

[GUIDE][ROOT]All In One Root And Drivers Guide For Ubislate Tabs(Aakash)

Please Note: Whatever you are doing here is at your own risk.. Having said that, if you still blame me for spoiling the broth, well, I am not the COOK then.. So read properly and stop being noob..​
So, we start.....
This Guide is for Windows.. Follow each step properly before asking questions..​
Step 1: Setting up Drivers for Ubislate:
1. You need to install Android sdk from here and JAVA from here. Without java, sdk might show errors. So install JAVA and then SDK. I won't tell you how to install these.. Search..
2. This step onwards the real game starts.. once you install sdk, open sdk manager and install the necessary tools like sdk platform tools..Most important of it is installing google usb drivers from the list of options.. You will see this type of list :

Choose sdk tools, sdk platform tools and google usb drivers from the list and click on Install Packages..
3. Once that is done, go to sdk folder and then to platform tools. Keep pressing the shift key and right click and select 'Open command window here'. Type 'adb' in small. If you see a list of options coming, you are good to go and sdk is installed.
4. Go to sdk folder again and in that go to extras/google/usb_driver. Replace the android_winusb file with the one provided below of this post. Just copy paste and replace.
5. Connect your Ubislate tab to pc and go to Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Device and Printers/Device Manager.Go to other devices in the list and You will see an exclamation mark on your device named Android.
6. Right click on it and click on Update driver software.
7. Select Browse my computer for update driver and then click on Let me pick up from a list of device drivers.
8. From Common hardware types select Android Device and then click on Have Disk
9. An Install from disk dialog box appears. Click on browse and go to sdk folder where you have copied the android_winusb file i.e extras/google/usb_driver. Select android_winsub and click on OPEN. A list of drivers will now open
10. Click on Android ADB Interface and then click on next. Done!! You now have ADB access for your Aakash tab. To check, go to sdk folder/platform-tools and open command window and type adb devices. You will see your device in List of devices attached with some number and device written besides it.
Please Note: The drivers will not get installed on Windows 8 untill you disable DIGITAL DEVICES DRIVER ENFORCEMENT.. Search on google on how to disable it.. Its damm easy..

Step2:Installing CWM Recovery and Rooting:
1. I have made a fully working recovery for Ubislate tabs which works very well without any problems and detects the internal sd card without issues. Follow this guide here and install recovery on your aakash tab.
2. To reboot to recovery, press and hold VOL + key and Power key till the tablet boots into recovery or else there is a bat file in the zip file provided in the above link, run it and your tab will automatically boot into recovery.
3. Download Superuser.zip provided below and copy it to your internal sd card.
4. Boot to recovery and click on Install zip from sd card>choose zip from internal sd card. Navigate to the folder where you have placed the Superuser.zip and install it.
5. Reboot and you are finally done.. You now have a rooted Aakash tab with a CWM Recovery installed and proper ADB Drivers
I recommend all users to make a NANDROID BACKUP before making any changes into system as I Haven't found any Perfectly working ROM for AAKASH TAB.. Go Ahead and Enjoy​

ADB Driver
Does anyone have an ADB driver that works for this tablet (UbiSlate 7ci)? I've downloaded the one from Android SDK numerous times as well as a few others. None have worked so far.
I'm not a total noob as I've rooted my S3, two Nexus 7's, a Droid 4, a Droid 2, a DINC as well as a KFHD.

Update:
Problem solved... I used this http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach..._AOSP_Rk29sdk_Android_4.0.3-7inch-Tablet.pdf; specifically step 11 &19 to get ADB working.
Now I just need to root this device. The box shows that it's an A9 chip so hopefully this still works, also it was delivered running Android 4.2.2

I'm wondering if you can help me.
I followed your guide for my Ubislate 7Ci. I used the Recovery install guide from here and rebooted into Recovery using the batch file included in the zip. Now I'm stuck in Recovery and can't do anything. I get an error message saying
E: Can't mount .....(insert ~4 file paths here)

when CMW boots or if I try to manually mount something. If I choose "Reboot system now" I end up back in CMW.
Any ideas as to what I can do?

U have flashed recovery img in place of boot.img. you need to flash boot.img again from stock rom

Keep in mind, no matter what, you always have to take backup before doing anything with your phone if you aren't sure about what will happen. And this becomes must when playing with devices which don't have many stuff available related to it.. Next time do consider this. because being an owner of such a great Tab( sarcasm intended), you need to be sure about alllll this.

HOW TO INSTALL CMW RECOVERY IN MICROMAX CANVAS FUN A74 AND A76.
1. FIRST ROOT YOUR MOBILE.
2.INSTALL BUSYBOX ON MOBILE.
2.INSTALL MTK DRIVERS ON YOUR WINDOWS PC.
3.DOWNLOAD MTK DROID TOOLS.
4. EXTRAT MKT DROID TOOL.ZIP AND INSIDE FOLDER YOU FIND MTKdroidTools.ini. OPEN THIS FILE IN NOTEPAD++.
5.YOU FIND THIS LINE MTKsocs = ^MT65(16|73|75|77|89) IN THE MTKdroidTools.ini.
6.REPLACE THE 73 TO 72 LIKE THIS MTKsocs = ^MT65(16|72|75|77|89) AND SAVE THE FILE.
7.RUN MTK DROID TOOL.EXE AS ADMIN.
8.GO TO SETTINGS>ABOUT AND TOUCH 1 TO 5 TIMES ON BULID NUMBER. AND YOU CAN SEE DEVELEPOR OPTIONS APPER ON SETTINGS AND TICK ON USB DEBUGGING.
FOLLOW THIS STEPS:
1.Connect your switched on rooted mtk device to your computer and open MTKDroid tool, the tool will recognise your device and connect to it, if the colour indicator in the bottom left corner is green, you already have root shell,and can go on to the next step, if it is yellow, click on the root button at the bottom, and wait for the progress bar, if the indicator stays yellow, or you get an error message, this probably means you do not have Busybox installed, you can install it from the google play store. When the indicator turns to green you have root shell which is necessary for this operation.
2.Next click on the tab 'root,backup,recovery' and select 'to use boot from phone' then click on 'recovery and boot' and shortly after a dialogue box will appear asking if you want to 'make cwm recovery automatically' click yes
3.The tool will then create the recovery and another dialogue box will appear asking to 'install created recovery to phone', click yes.
4.And finally the tool will ask to reboot into recovery mode, click yes and the device will reboot into CWM recovery so you can check the installation was successful.

Funny, I am using A76 and when I copied the stock rom zip file in sdcard and try to enter into recovery mode by pressing Volume Up and Power button simultaneously, it starts to erase previous version and installs the copied zip automatically.

Is a74, a76 and a63 roms same?

Hey Folks i already installed CWM Recovery in my Friends A74, i dint edit anything..
soon uploading CWM Recovery here as well as boot.img which have fully unsecure if u guys need it.

EDIT :- Now Add Modified and Unsecure Boot.img and CWM Recovery for Micromax A74 here with MT6572_EMMC_Scatter.txt, so user can flash throw Mobile Uncle Tools and also with Sp Flash Tool too if any third party apps give error to installing recovery.

1. If you use any third party apps like mobile uncle tools or recovery manager to installing cwm recovery then your device must need to be rooted.

Hello.
Managed to install Carliv Touch Recovery with the CTR for MTK port tool.
Here is the tool : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471479
You must have ADB drivers I think, a rooted device (Framaroot works great for it) and you launch the tools as Admin (Win7 x64 for me) and you choose "Auto" (Yes button at launch) and you wait for popup to close and then... it is ok

One Click Method For Rooting Micromax A74, You Don't Even Need A PC To Root Your Device, Just Download The FRAMAROOT Application And Follow The Steps Below.
1. Download & Install Framaroot.apk and open it.
2. Choose Install SuperSu, as SuperUser didn't work for me.
3. Then Click on "Boromir".
4. It Will Display A Root Confirmation Message, Click On "OK" And Then "REBOOT" Your Device.

XOLO Q3000 KITKAT 4.4.2 update​
Kitkatify our beloved Q3000 before the official release.
Android kitkat 4.4.2 for MTK6589 devices is released.
This is a tutorial for all to install kitkat 4.4.2.
NOTICE
I Will Not Be Responsible For Any Brick or Any Problem.....
So Flash At Your Own Risk.
This ROM flashes every partition and DOES change anything.
SO chances of brick are ther but still, please keep nandroid Backup ready which will be used if you find issues in the process so that you can revert back to your old system.
Pr-requisites ​
Kitkat flash files from hadiyalkishan
SP flash tools
Mtk tools
MTK drivers
vcom drivers
scatter file
working computer or laptop with usb cable.
our beloved XOLO Q3000 with android JB off course.
little patience courage and slight brain.
So lets get started
1. Driver installation
install android usb drivers and vcom drivers.
Plug in ur mobile with usb cable when switch on. let windows recognize it and install drivers.
Plug in ur mobile with usb cable when switch off. let windows recognize it and install drivers.
Plug in ur mobile with usb cable when switch off, after connection press power button once. let windows recognize it and install drivers.
You can skip above part if you already know what this all about.
2. Taking backups
Backup all ur apps, data installed.
Save all files from ur internal storage.
internal storage going to get formatted.
also backup ur nvram in mtktools (just in case for safty)
3. Preparation
Extract kitkat files in a separate folder.
shut down ur phone.
start SP Flash Tool v5.1352.01
load the scatter file from the folder.
If you using version 5.13 it will look like this

4. Flashing
start flashing procedure by pressing download button.
plug in ur powered off xolo Q3000.
There will green colored logo at the end off process.
if everything goes well its ok your done.
Just take out the phone.
remove battery once.
place it again
restart.
5. Trouble shooting
If at all there is any error in process please follow these steps
most common error that i faced was pmt changed error as shown below
or in 3.13
dont panic everything is under control
Now close spf tools
browse to the kitkat file folder
rename MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt to MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt.bak
copy here the downloaded scatter file.
follow the flash procedure as mentioned above.
U will see a green coloured logo.:good:
congratulations.
You have kitkat now on your mobile.
5. Trouble shooting before restarting
Now pull out battery.
dont restart
put battery in
keep vol up button pressed and then press power button till xolo logo appers
release both button and
dont panic
just press power button once
You will go into stock android recovery
recovery option will come
just use vol down button for scrolling
select factory reset
press vol up button for execution
then select restart.
Your done.
6. Further Trouble shooting after restarting
Suppose accidentally in hurry u restarted mobile.
u will see nice boot animation and suddenly
Dont panic again
just press reset phone.
phone will restart
IF it wont go further press rest phone twice thrice
pull out battery and put in again and restart.
NOW enjoy ur kitkat 4.4.2 on xolo Q3000.
Goto settings-storage
You can clearly notice
The size of internal storage is around 4gb.
Thats why we need to backup internal storage as its get formatted in process.
If you browse apps you can see there is already super user app
It means it is prerooted.
6. Further Trouble shooting in kitkat
If at all superuser not working use root genius to root your phone.
Next most imp thing is sd card permissions.
its disabled in kitkat by defalut.
so u just use this app or manually put platform.xml in system/etc/permission ( u will get this anywhere just google)
another alternatives
1. KitKat SD Card Full Access.
2. HandleExternalStorage.
NOW ENJOY KITKAT FULLY.​

U cant flash it from cwm.
u have to use sp flash tools as everything has tobe changed.

avi,
i assume, this reverts any existing custom recovery back to xolo kk stock recovery. would sptool flashing custom recovery (ctr, twrp preferably) work? have you tried this?

Yeah u can install custom recovery in kk.
Just see below in my signature - recovery collection.

sir ,i have error in installing;; "pmt change " again and again ,i change as your ...rename MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt to MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt.bak " but error still stay. {my scatter image showing as -"MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt.bak.txt "are they correct?]

u just delete the scatter present in the folder (better way to move it in other folder)
then place the attached scatter in original folder.
start flash tools
select scatter and try.

Have u installed vcom drivers correctly?
Try using another version of flash tool.

Hi
Just follow these simple steps and you will be done.
1. Take out "scatter file" from main folder (File to Flash) and place where you can easily access that.
2. Run SP Flash tool
3. Select same “scatter file” which you have taken out from main folder
4. Once we take out the scatter file out from mail folder we break link between two files so Now select each file i.e. Preloader or Uboot in SP Flash tool manually to set their link back to normal.
5. Once all file given correct path click download
6. Connect your phone with or without batter (For me WITH battery)
7. If everything goes well after few seconds red line will appear that will turn in purple followed by yellow.
8. Once green circle appears that mean BINGO you are done.

If still facing issue then copy content of scatter file given in link and replace the content in downloaded file and do the whole process again.

But another problem "root asses goan" .there is superuser app. In my system ,but not working .unrooted phone-exSD card not mounted, can I root my divice by RootGenios?(but ex SD partition is mounted)

hi avisir,
i install root genios and try 2/3 time but my phone not rooted [ error -root failed root manually]
what can i do for this? when i install kitkat, that time i saw super user then i update Vroot,...then unfortunetlly super user goan.
i tried framroot /mtkdroid tool but no effect....

Root doesn't seem to be persistent. I uninstalled the superuser app immediately after installing the ROM. After this, I flashed ctr custom recovery using sp flash tool, downloaded and flashed SuperSU from recovery.

U shuoldnt had done it?
U should install supersu app first and then reboot and uninstall the original superuser.
try using vroot, eroot or root geniuos.

Avi, well it just worked for me.. I currently have a working SuperSU install following the procedure I'd mentioned
Just so we are clear, the problem here is that, once kk ROM is installed, the superuser app will show that the phone is rooted. After some time, opening the app will show that the phone is unroofed.. I'm sure this is not an issue with the super user app but something else.. But flashing SuperSU as I said in my last post fixes root which is what I wanted..
If you know the actual root cause, I want to know about it..

Here is a guide to root Micromax A093
Here's a 100% working method of rooting Micromax Canvas A093. I bought this phone today and after a few hit & trials found out that this is the only method to root this amazing device. Framaroot, Binary Tools and SRS Root did not work. This method is not as quick as Framaroot and it requires a PC but it's quite simple.
First of all you will need These So download one by one...
1-Boot And Recovery
2-Mediatek Usb Vcom Drivers
3-SP Flash tool
4-Super Su 1.9.4
5-Scatter File
Installing CWM​
Once you have downloaded the entire above listed files to your PC, copy SuperSU file to the Root of your device’s SD card or internal storage. Just make sure to not to copy inside any folder.
Power off Micromax Canvas Fire A093, and while it is turned off connect it to PC via OEM USB Data cable.
Extract the contents of SP Flash tool, to a folder and run Flash_Tool.exe administrator.
Now the SP Flash Tool opens, just click on Scatter-loading and load the scatter file which you have downloaded from the above links. It is named as “MT6582_Android_scatter_emmc.txt”.
Now you will see series of check boxes in the region below in the SP Flash Tool.
Among them Check BOOTIMG and RECOVERY, now click on respective names and choose the boot.img and recovery.img files from the package you downloaded.
Click on Download button at the Top or press F9 to start flashing CWM Recovery on Micromax Canvas Fire A093.

Procedure to Root Micromax Canvas Fire A093​Download the SuperSU package from the above links and copy it to the Root of your device’s SD card or your device’s internal storage.
Make sure to not to copy inside any folder.
Power off Micromax Canvas Canvas Fire A093.
Enter into CWM Recovery or Recovery Mode. To do so press and hold Volume up + Volume Down + Power button simultaneously, now select the recovery mode.
Once you are in CWM Recovery select the option to install zip from SD card and choose the SuperSU zip file and install or flash it.
Once done, ++++Go Back++++ and select reboot system now, this will boot your device into normal mode.
Once the device boots up you are ready to enjoy the Root access on your Micromax Canvas Fire A093.
Look for SuperSU app in app drawer.
If you want to confirm whether your device is successfully Rooted or not, then you can make use of Root Checker App.

dude just tell me did you test this method?? i tried same method like this on 093 which was made for fire104 n my devices was bricked..so just tell me you tried it or you just copy paste old post?

First Install Vcom driver.
Then do not connect phone to pc first.
Do as mention and then click Download botton. Now connect ur phone ( switched off) to pc and flashing will start in a few seconds.

its saying incorrect scater file n also now scater file download link is not working.any suggestions???

Problem in deive connecting
hello i have downloaded all software and i have installed driver but when i switch off my mobile and then connect cable than connecting sound heard twice that means device connected than disconnected please tell me how to connect device properly

I try same but when i click on download and connect mobile in switch off button nothing will happen....
Pls help me to root my mobile

Here's a 100% working method of rooting Micromax Canvas A093. I bought this phone today and after a few hit & trials found out that this is the only method to root this amazing device. Framaroot, Binary Tools and SRS Root did not work. This method is not as quick as Framaroot and it requires a PC but it's quite simple.
First of all you will need These So download one by one...
1-Boot And Recovery
2-Mediatek Usb Vcom Drivers

Installing CWM​
Once you have downloaded the entire above listed files to your PC, copy SuperSU file to the Root of your device’s SD card or internal storage. Just make sure to not to copy inside any folder.
Power off Micromax Canvas Fire A093, and while it is turned off connect it to PC via OEM USB Data cable.
Extract the contents of SP Flash tool, to a folder and run Flash_Tool.exe administrator.
Now the SP Flash Tool opens, just click on Scatter-loading and load the scatter file which you have downloaded from the above links. It is named as “MT6582_Android_scatter_emmc.txt”.
Now you will see series of check boxes in the region below in the SP Flash Tool.
Among them Check BOOTIMG and RECOVERY, now click on respective names and choose the boot.img and recovery.img files from the package you downloaded.
Click on Download button at the Top or press F9 to start flashing CWM Recovery on Micromax Canvas Fire A093.
Procedure to Root Micromax Canvas Fire A093​Download the SuperSU package from the above links and copy it to the Root of your device’s SD card or your device’s internal storage.
Make sure to not to copy inside any folder.
Power off Micromax Canvas Canvas Fire A093.
Enter into CWM Recovery or Recovery Mode. To do so press and hold Volume up + Volume Down + Power button simultaneously, now select the recovery mode.
Once you are in CWM Recovery select the option to install zip from SD card and choose the SuperSU zip file and install or flash it.
Once done, ++++Go Back++++ and select reboot system now, this will boot your device into normal mode.
Once the device boots up you are ready to enjoy the Root access on your Micromax Canvas Fire A093.
Look for SuperSU app in app drawer.
If you want to confirm whether your device is successfully Rooted or not, then you can make use of Root Checker App.

Can't install cwm
i have installed the driver, the device is recognized as mediatec com port 6 under ports. after selecting the files pressing download most times i get errors and the other times the bar is stuck at 100%. plus every second the phone connects and disconnects. tried formatting, tried pressing up/down/both volume buttons while connecting the phone to pc after pressing download. first time rooting a micromax phone need some help

I also got the same error.
