Quick Settings

Pretty stupid question,
i'm using stock rom, I would like to know if it's possible to get quick settings in the notification bar, the one that you pull down from the top of the screen ? in replacement of the stock settings that you have? eg to have brightness settings etc ?
Thanks to all
i'm sorry if the question has already been asked i haven't see that.

did you S-off your device... or did you temp-root it ???
you have to be S-off anyway to be able to install a custom Recovery to then, be able to install any zip file from it..
And it's the theme and apps section , you should of post your thread or " ask your question in the general section or FAQ topic..

You can do that, only if your stock ROM is deodexed.

If you're running a deodexed rom, just download the extended quick setting from the insertcoin rom thread and flash it through cwm recovery then restart your phone.

Flash cyanogemod 9 for ns4g then look for a zip that enables the softkey buttons on ns4g (link below) . Finally, flash speedy7 kernel and use bld (via nstools app avaliable in market). If you have any questions just send me a private message.

[Q] Switching between themes

So, being a total n00b (I only rooted my first phone 5 days ago), I wondered what would be the easiest way to switch between different themes to try them out? I have MOAR rom (which is awesome) and I picked Wasabi's CobaltOnyx theme during install. I want to try out some of the other themes in that packet. Do I need to return to rooted stock and then reinstall MOAR and pick a different theme? Or can I just switch between themes like I did with Go Launcher before I rooted? Thanks for the help!
No need to return to stock, just reflash the ROM and pick another theme.

Okay, thanks. I can do that. I was just hoping that I wouldn't have to go through the whole setting up my phone again just to change a theme.

You don't have to there is a run morphology option so you can just change the theme.

Thanks for the info! Gonna guess I just reboot into recovery and run the MOAR rom from sd card and pick the morphology option and pick another theme?
On a side note, could I as well download icon packs from the play store to use with one of the OMG themes?
You apply the icon packs on launchers.

[Q] PA GAPPS on stock rom

Hello
I'm pretty sure it will work just fine, but i just want someone to confirm.
Is it okay to flash PA GAPPS on top of the stock nexus ROM?
Thanks
I would think it would be fine, however, your one to test on that one matey. There shouldn't be a reason why it wouldn't work though.
Why would you?

No need too.

My reason for doing so would be booting with the newest Google apps so I wouldn't have to download them from the play store

If you are on WiFi it really isn't a problem but whatever floats your boat. Like it'll take less than 3 minutes.
But it won't hurt anything and if it does well you can tell the rest of us not to do it.

[Q] Do you have to install a ROM to get xposed?

Do I need to get a ROM with xposed on it or can I install it myself without one? This is my first nexus device so I'm new to this territory! Sorry for the newbie question
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Xposed isn't nexus specific so the same rules apply to any Android device.
The point of Xposed is to be able to apply custom features without having to change rom or edit your existing rom, so nope - you can use whatever rom is there now

Your device does, however, have to be rooted.

Okay thank you - so don't HAVE to have a ROM right? I am on Vomers stock ATM so in theory I can just flash xposed on and done?
Just confusing because all the other phones I've had its just always been a part of the Roms I've used and I don't see one in the nexus specific Roms!

Xposed is an apk that you install. Then from there, you install frameworks. I've never seen it included in any rom.

It's included in a few ROMs which are just small modifications of the stock ROM lol.. And they usually come with GravityBox which is kind of pointless and you might as well use a full AOSP/CAF custom ROM.

Ah the sorts of ROMs I stay away from then
To be honest, if you're including it with a ROM, it means you either cannot be bothered to or do not have the skill to add teh functions to a rom, in either case - perhaps you shouldn't release a "rom" hahah
