So I just came from stock (rooted with faux), and flashed Cataclysm properly and everything is working fine except for some of my pictures! I went to the camera and took a new one, and when swiping right, I didn't see it. I then went to gallery to sort by dates, and a bunch of random pictures (about 50) always come up first because they are dated for the year 2023. When I go to they're properties, however, they have the right date. Does anyone know how to fix this? Its rather annoying to have to see those pictures come up first in my gallery for the next 10 years!

I don't set my expectations too high. I know that this is a new phone, and it is not without it's bugs, but it is an awesome phone and from reading others who were having issues, I wanted to get a Nexus S working right for me!
I purchased my first Nexus S at a local Best Buy.
Everything about the phone was fine, the battery life seemed good, it ran quickly, did not notice any lag or any other major problems. However, I did begin to notice the back-button being unresponsive, as many others have stated experiencing. From reading threads on XDA, the jury is still out on whether this is a software or hardware issue, but that some people were able to get a phone without the issue by returning it for a replacement.
So I did...
I exchanged for my second Nexus S at a local Best Buy.
This one was kind of odd. Took a little while the for the 'important system updates' notice to come up, so I had already synced with my gmail and had also manually updated google maps and a few other apps.
When I finally did install the system update and the phone booted, I got a systemcore process FC error off the bat. Not good news. Later on, all seemed well, but I noticed a lot of lag with using the GB keyboard (unresponsive at times), and also having difficulty with the end-call button to end a call in progress (again, unresponsive so I had to press it a bunch of times before it would respond). Also, the battery life did not seem to be nearly as good as the first Nexus S.
So... I turned it back to Best Buy, but they did not have another replacement. So I turned it in for a refund.
I called Best Buy toll-free number, told them about the trouble that I was having, and they waived the overnight shipping fee, took my order for a new Nexus S, and I got it via UPS the next day (just at the 24 hour mark)
With this phone, I booted the phone and chose skip to login/create a gmail account. Phone loaded up completely, and I was just signing into my gmail account when I got the 'important system updates' message.
I updated immediately. Everything went smoothly.
I have not noticed any problems so far. The phone runs smoothly. It had no FC upon first boot after the system update. The back button works as it should. I don't notice any lag with the keyboard. I pulled up engadget.com full site and did not notice any lag out of the norm, apart from it being slow to load as I'm working with the crappy Edge network here (who cares if there are 4G phones out when my area doesn't even have 3G yet and that is where I am mostly). I have also tested the ringtones. I moved some music to my SD Card. I downloaded/installed Ringdroid. I created a ringtone. I set the ringtone. I have rebooted my phone three times and my ringtone still works. I mounted and unmounted my SD card (even moved some files to it), and I still have my ringtone.
So, what was it? Was it three times the charm? Was it there was a bad batch at the local Best Buy? Was it that because of the volume of Best Buy over phone and online sales, you'll get a newer and better Nexus S going through that route? Was it because I installed the system update before doing anything else, including syncing my gmail? I'm not sure...
But I do know that I love this phone, and *knock on wood* it continues to work the way that it should, I'll be happy with it for a long time to come.
My advice for those who are experiencing the issues that I had with my first two Nexus S to try try again. I know it's disappointing that a customer would have to do that in the first place as it is time consuming and stressful, but in the end, there might be a happy ending with you and your Nexus S.
Glad everything is working out for ya. Luckily my first nexus s has been great from day one.

I have my second phone and it feels like the screen is less sensitive as on my first one. Unfortunately I cannot say if this is a problem with 2.3.1 because my first phone never got the 2.3.1 update and got stuck with 2.3. I have the feeling that 2.3 was much faster and less laggy than 2.3.1. I probably will return the phone again to see if this is a phone problem or if this was introduced with 2.3.1.

Just took a picture... it works. But I haven't tried video calling with Tango yet

it force closes if i use it in the default app.
it's just black if I use it in Tango.

Is anyone else having a problem with auto orientation taking a dump every once in a while? It's happened 2 if 3 times since I got the phone on Wednesday...

it will stop rotating, and when porgrams like browser, or reader, are opened they are rotated the wrong way, and will not change.
But once rebooted all is normal again.
Weird, happened to me a few days ago too. I couldn't get anything to
rotate...music, browser etc. After reboot it's been fine.
Mine has done it 3 times so far. A reboot fixes it, but it's still lame.
Nope hasn't happened yet. Had a Bluetooth bug where it wouldn't turn on but reboot fixed that.
Update happened to me now. Many software cause it dosn't happen in all software at the same time.

Happened to me the first day I purchased it...the browser was stuck on landscape and pictures I took were wrong orientation...I was freaking out a little bit but a reboot fixed it.Happy now Hasn't happened since.

No, I'm running complete stock at the moment(waiting till my trial period ends before I root and start playing; coming from the vibrant on unlimited data t-mobile.... love the phone so far but not loving the whole 2gig thing)
My auto rotate has died almost once every day... but when it does it still worksin the browser. Strange. Certainly software.

Some of what I am seeing reminds me of times I had a bad flash.
Just did a factory reset, and if that does not work will try reflash using the RUU.
It's done it to me twice in the week since I got it - still using stock OS. Restart seems to fix it. It's a little aggravating, but nowhere as bad as all the crashes I had with the Atrix before I traded it back for the Inspire.
It seems to be in the kernel. When I made my custom kernel it did that all the time, has something to do with the Auto-rotation configs. I believe a kernel compiled from our newest sorce fixes this, at least I'm pretty sure.
It happens to me every time I have a LWP enabled that use the accelerometer, like galaxy core and metal rain. Selecting another LWP or disapbling the feature in the LWP solves the problem for me. I saw this behavoiur in the stock rom, tpc's rom and ar 3.2rom.
Happened to me a little after flashing coredroid when all the roms started coming in. Reboot fixed it of course. I remember frantically toggling the auto rotate and fearing a dead orientation sensor.

It's happened to me in the past too. I did notice that the problem stopped when I stopped using the "reddit is fun" application though, and it hasn't happened ever since. Maybe the problem lies within certain applications? Could just be a coincidence. Might try using the app again later to see if it happens again.

Don't know, it happened to me 2 times when bone stock not even rooted, didn't happen at all on my rom/kernel until last night with my kernel which is latest source, unless there was some new source posted in the last few days, but I don't think there has been since there's been no update.
Maybe it is hardware.

I just bought a Triumph and today I noticed two green lines running horizontally through the screen of the camera. The lines do not appear anywhere else (such as the home screen) and when the picture is taken it does not show up in the final photo. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I return it? Ill try and upload a picture later on...
I've seen this before, but only on a modified phone running an incomplete port of CyanogenMod. In other words, those lines shouldn't be there, whether they mess up your pictures or not. Return.

Okay, so a few weeks back I rooted my Atrix. All went fine. After a while i started having some major issues. I couldn't get a lot of apps, because my devise was not supported on the markets. I started getting dead spots in my screen, and it just started just glitching out all the time. Also, some apps that I KNEW were supposed to be on the market I couldn't find on my phone.
Today I decided to factory reset. I backed up my contacts and photos to the sd card (for some reason it still deleted my photo's). I reset my phone. Now, I have a whole lot more problems.
Most of the dead spots are gone, I still have one, so that I will say is a non issue. I cannot update my phone. There is an update waiting for me to install, but when my phone goes to do it, it installs about 2/3rds of the way and then rolls back. No clue why, it just says the update cannot be installed.
Firefox and facebook (and others, these are just the ones I use the most) are non existent on the market place. I know they exist, but i cannot find them. I really am not sure why, but this is annoying. Apps are force closing all over the place.
I know there are other things wrong with it, I just can't think of anything else without bursting a vessel.
My phone has basically become useless. I am really tempted to see how many pieces I can get my lawnmower to turn it into. Any help at all will be very appreciated!

not sure what happened.
installed latest euroskank nightly this morning. everything was running perfect.
my battery life got down to about 25% and a white line down the middle of the screen appeared
its only there when theres color other then black it seems? like the app drawer when its open, no white line, but if i go into recovery, anything highlighted in blue, (NOT BLUE TEXT) but the actually highlighted tab has the line
it almost looks like a screen crack but im not sure how that could be possible. my phones been on my desk all day. ive been watching season 4 of breaking bad lol

Hurry up, they just started season 5! ahem. Anyway, have you checked the thread for the rom yet to see if its not an isolated issue? To me, at least, that would be the best place to start. Or roll back to a previous version and see if the problem persists, but since you said you can see it in recovery, sounds like it could possibly be hardware related

this had happened on my Epic 4G a long time ago it passed over i thought it was probably the kernel/rom
i hope mine does the same.... it happened randomly today.... i just got this thing back new abt a month ago lol. went from AOKP to Skankwich and abt an hour or so later the line appeared smh
