I have noticed a really annoying problem with my N5
On the bottom front side, there is this nasty gap between the screen glass and the housing (marked in red in the picture).

It has a diameter of about a third of a milimeter and is diligently collecting dust and dirt. To make things worse, it is nearly not possible to get the dirt out of it again, since it is to small for the fingernails. I always have to use the edge of a paper to clean it up
Does anybody else have this gap?
If not, I'll contact Google to get a replacement.
I don't
stag
Now that you mention it, I believe the "lower" seems a bit wider than the others.
However no dust-collecting at all - at least not more the the other gaps.
Also I never experience much dust-collecting in contrast to many other users. (May be due to using ALWAYS a sleeve when I put it in my pocket.)
Mine is like that to. It's a pain to clean it out.
Mine has the gap on the bottom too... I use a thin needle to remove the parts of dust from there.
I hope LG will assembly the cover better, with no gap, in the future revisions...
I contacted Google Play support and indicated the problem, because I also have the gap at the bottom. I need to use a piece of paper to remove the dust.
I had to send them photos, and now they say that they will replace the phone. Two friends of mine (one got the white 32gb, and one got the black 32gb) dont have the gap, but myself and another friend who ordered the black 32gb on the very first day have the gap. So may be it is a production defect that possibly may be fixed now?
Just contacted Google... replacement unit is on its way
The Google Play replacement service is really great! This is a better service than you could expect from a local store.

The following will show you how to open the case.
I did it becasue one of the switches was bad.
Take off the battery cover and battery, remove the SIM and SD cards.
notice I did not remove the Sd, did not care.
Remove the flip cover that covers two screw plate holes.

Look to the 4 phillips head screws and remove. Now comes the delicate part.
there are 3 snap ledges on each side of the phone. Use a very small flat head screw driver to pop or pry the cover off the chrome edge. Be carefule not to scratch the chrome. It pops off just like any other wedged case.
If you want to seperate the LCD from the circuit board, there are 3 sticky pads holding them together.
Notice the LCD connector and the small connector for the touch panel.
Enjoy.
Pictures taken with my Android G1.
Interesting. Quite a bit different from my M88. And I thought all of the T32, Daxians, and M88 phones were almost the same!
M88 has the same 4 screws / pry up the chrome bezel dissassembly but the board layout is different and overall the desig different,.
Whats so strange, I offered to XDA-Developers a Daxian x999+ to disect, to see if they can gain access to the ROM for reading and writing. This was done a month ago, no one has come forward from XDA to say we are interested.
Does anybody know where is possible to buy cover plates for daxian x999?
I had 1 tiny fibre under my screen protector and was going to put on a new one.
So I had some fun!

I don't know if you can see it. But I have full strands of hair in there.
EDIT: Oh my, is there some way for me to scale it down for th forum?
you are too free my fren.... =.="
Doesn't look good...
Try an environment with little dust, eg the bathroom after a shower (humidity helps),
Use sellotape to remove fibres, specks of dust from screen or protector,
Make sure the protector is the right way round (yes, there is a top and bottom for the DHD which are subtly different, as I found to my cost - I think your protector is on upside down, looking at the bottom left corner).
I have never has success reapplying protectors (apart from "during" the first application), whatever the manufacturers say. Easier to buy a new one. A lot come in packs of 2 these days
Yeah I know all this.
When I got my mobile the girl at the shop offered to put on my screen protector and I thought why not! Bad choice... She put it on upsidedown...
So I put on my 2nd one. Then the 1 tiny fiber annoyed me so I took it off and put on ANOTHER one.
But this one was super cheap and didn't fit so I got annoyed and scrunched up the protector, chucked it in the bin but then had an idea to pull some hairs out and be stupid and take a picture.
Time to go buy a quality screen protector!
I've actually been inspecting my device. I've noticed how this device is "suppose" to be curved, while it is at the bottom, it's not at the top? is this normal?
It's a AUO panel from China.

There have been some cases where a few people said they have straight glass instead of curved. supposed to be the new ones that are straight. Mine is absolutely curved on all sides. Can you take some detailed angled pictures of the top of the glass by the speaker, the sides and the curved bottom? the others that mentioned it seem to have poor cameras and it cant be seen definitively. No one has mentioned flat at the top and curved at the bottom. Maybe a 3rd screen type? what is the manufacture date and 1st 4 of the serial number please?
Well I dont have a camera to take pictures of it however, it feels like as i trace my fingers a long the side of the phone that the curver runs deeper(from top to bottom), almost as if the battery panel is exact with the top(however the bottom is curved)
Manufacturer date is 6/5/2011 and the first of the Serial is SH16
This is a few pics from the other thread. This is the curved version. Does your glass look like these? If you set a sd card on the edge of the glass do you get the gap like in the picture? Thanks. If you do have the flat version, some pics or video would be awesome. I am hoping the flat version fixes all the touchscreen issues many are having. So far nobody has been able to supply any credible pics for some reason

Here is the link to the other thread. OP got mad and left because people were saying he was lying about having a flat glass. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150174
Hi guys
I am really having some trouble loving my S10e. The phone would be great - if it wasn't for the screen. The glass is simply glued on the front and thus sticks out by 0.75mm. The corners are not rounded but quite sharp. When I put the phone to my ear, the sharp end scratches my ear and it feels uncomfortable. On top of that, with the glass being exposed like that, it obviously lead to it cracking within the first 3 weeks (see

).
Is this the same for all S10e? I have searched the Internet for any reviews or complaints mentioning this issue, to no avail. I simply can't believe that this is normal (I have never seen a phone with the glass glued on like that).
Cheers,
Will
This sounds like a faulty handset to me. You'll need to see if you can get it replaced under warranty.
Unfortunately as with all Android phones, this will mean sending your current handset off somewhere and waiting up to 2 weeks to have it inspected, repaired or replaced. You'll need to make sure you have a spare handset lying around. This is one of the things I hate about Androids compared to iPhones. Maybe try putting on a case to see if it helps?
If you had an iPhone, you'll have been able to book an appointment and have your iPhone replaced the same day.
Hey Wutang, thanks a lot for your reply! And all along I thought the glass being glued on like that was (a little silly but) normal for the S10e. I have contacted Samsung again, so I guess we will see.
Hi everyone
So i just bought brand new purple poco f2 pro 2 days ago and today i realized there is bunch of dust and particles under the edge of back glass specially in the left side amd bottom of the back glass then i realized i can push the edge of wrapping plastic through that gap so easy for maybe 1mm or so then it stops by inner glues of back glass and it is possible to move those particles under glass but i can't pull them out. This is happens just in left and bottom side of the back glass .... Is that a common problem should i do something ? The purple back glass show those particles on the edges in the some lighting condition i don't know about other colors . But my main concern is it possible for this dusts and particles penetrate more inside the phone and reach to camera lenses ?
this picture should explain what i mean this wrapping plastic did not pushed inside by any hard force the gap is just larger than the plastic wrap ......

Hello,
I have purple too and i dont have this issue, The rear window is perfectly adjusted and leaves no space
Sorry but i think its a good solution to call the After sales service ?
It certainly is a quality control issue. However, the device doesn't have IP certification so this is kind of expected.
