No dice. Just downloaded the goo manager app from the play store and tried to update the openrecovery script using that app. I got a "403 forbidden" error.

you can download it from twrp site, then use the flashify app to flash it via your phone instead of using fastboot. btw 2.6.3.4 is the latest.

Download twrp manager from the play store. Under advanced, I believe, there's a option to install twrp recovery. The app will do everything for you

HELP!!

OK so I'm new to XDA flashing roms, etc (aka a newb). I'm attempting to flash a custom rom on my rooted Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 using TWRP recovery. I keep getting a failed message when attempting to flash. Any advice on how to proceed would be HIGHLY appreciated!!
Download the file again on your computer. Transfer file to SD card via card reader/writer

It is. I keep getting a "no MD5 file not found" message
Make sure you're on the latest version of TWRP. I believe it ends in ".1".
Otherwise just use CWM instead. You can install that with a free app called Flashify very easily.

Easiest way is to restore with odin
then using Casual All in one
Root, Flash Insecure aboot
go to google play download Rom manager then install CWM
or try just download rom manager then install CWM replace TWRP
Problem is I'm still in TWRP recovery, as I've been unsuccessful with flashing any ROM (so far). Do I need to have an operating system installed in order to install CWM?

Need Recovery flashable latest TWRP

Hi guys,
First of all I apologize if this has already been asked or is not allowed.
Anyhow, do you any of you know where I can get a recovery (older twrp) flashable zip file of the latest TWRP?? Goo Manager won't download and my phone just doesn't work with Odin anymore, I can't even plug it in to a PC and have it detect as a USB device. So I'm stuck with uploading/downloading files to my phone to Airdroid and just flashing through TWRP.
Thanks!

Download the img off the TWRP site and use an app such as Flashify or EZ Recovery to find the img on your phone and flash. Start here and search for our device.

You will just get a .img file. Just download "flashify" from the playstore. It will download/install twrp.
So first I should download the .IMG file then download flashify and using this app I can flash twrp

Use 2.8.1.0
Fastboot.
Fastboot with a PC, flashify directly on device, zip file in recovery, terminal emulator+IMG file...pick one.
#stayparanoid
You can also use the TWRP app from the Play Store, which is probably the easiest way.
So how can i flash my updated version? I downloaded the version on my phone its in my downloads. I boot into recovery go to flash and it does not recognize the img.

You need a zip file to flash in recovery. Use the flahify app if you want to flash the.img file or flash it in fastboot

Why don't you just boot into a recovery and flash SuperSU. I'd recommend twrp
fastboot boot twrp.img
Then flash SuperSU in it.
It won't install twrp on you device

Thanks, I know that.
I need to perform root "on the fly" .Without PC
That's why I am looking for application solution.
Thanks!
mind pulling me through the process... I got stock 5.1 with adb loaded & ready.

If you don't have TWRP installed, the apk is on Google Play here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu
Or, if you do have TWRP, DL the zip on your phone from here and do as @jd1639 suggested.

Best of luck

You probably should not be linking to SuperSU zip directly.
