You will just get a .img file. Just download "flashify" from the playstore. It will download/install twrp.
So first I should download the .IMG file then download flashify and using this app I can flash twrp

Just download flashify, there is a built-in download funtion You also could download .img manually and then flash it via flashify.

No dice. Just downloaded the goo manager app from the play store and tried to update the openrecovery script using that app. I got a "403 forbidden" error.

you can download it from twrp site, then use the flashify app to flash it via your phone instead of using fastboot. btw 2.6.3.4 is the latest.

Download twrp manager from the play store. Under advanced, I believe, there's a option to install twrp recovery. The app will do everything for you

Hi just a quick question it says in the instruction that I shouldn't use .zip file link to the instruction: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773659, how can I install this recovery-skyrocket-6037.zip?
Here is the link for the tut that I follow: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1759541&highlight=how+to
You can only flash the zip in a custom recovery. If you don't have a custom recovery you need to install it with Odin. You'll need a .tar.md5 recovery file to flash in Odin.

The instruction says to use this version of recovery-skyrocket-6037.zip the only problem is that it is in .zip format, does this recovery has a version of .tar.md5? Or an alternative recovery file that I can install using Odin to install the kikat custom rom? Thanks for the reply and help.

Use this in odin ] This will install twrp custom recovery. Once installed then flash (install) your recovery zip in it.
The recovery.tar.zip needs to be extracted with 7-zip.
EDIT, I edit this post to remove the the dev host link. DO NOT use the dev host file. Use the.tar.zip

Thank you so much
TWRP Manager (ROOT)
I used an app to replace CWM with TWRP
The app can also be used to prepare a flash and then make it execute with a reboot.
It is called TWRP Manager (ROOT)

Why don't you just boot into a recovery and flash SuperSU. I'd recommend twrp
fastboot boot twrp.img
Then flash SuperSU in it.
It won't install twrp on you device
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks, I know that.
I need to perform root "on the fly" .Without PC
That's why I am looking for application solution.
Thanks!
mind pulling me through the process... I got stock 5.1 with adb loaded & ready.

If you don't have TWRP installed, the apk is on Google Play here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu
Or, if you do have TWRP, DL the zip on your phone from here and do as @jd1639 suggested.
http://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/
Best of luck

Well, you have to use some Samsung tool (Odin?) because it is probably a recovery incomapible format.
