Recovery mode: 'no command' - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I reboot into recovery, all I have is an android robot with a red triangle and ! and the words "no command".
Totally stock, not unlocked or rooted. KRT16M.
How do I get a working recovery mode without losing any data or settings?
EDIT: finally figured it out - click +volume in the 'no command' screen

[Q] All attempts to boot into recovery mode lead to Red Exclamation triangle, why?

i searched for this issue and found no answer
I have a TF101 B70 and rooted my device. I ran Recovery Installer and i guess it allegedly flashed (no confirmation box or anything). Then I do the Volume down + power button and then I hit volume up when given the option...Picture of Android robot powering up and then leads to the exclamation mark. It stays on that for 3-5 minutes and finally reboots normally.
My main goal is to just get recovery mode so I can flash cerberus. Why is it not letting me get to it?
P.S. I've also tried reboot2recovery and it doesn't boot me into recovery.

seems like the recovery didnt install, search for PERI tool in the forums and use it.
Agreed, the dead Android is stock recovery.
Try PERI with USB Debugging enabled, or use EasyFlasher to flash a recovery in APX mode.

[Q] Failed to go into Recovery

I just upgraded my XT925 from 4.1.2 (JBBL) to 4.4.2 (KKBL) via OTA. Bootloader was already unlocked. I then flashed in philz-touch 6.58.7 recovery. Flashing completed without error. However, when I booted the phone into recovery mode via pressing buttons or adb command, I always got "No command" and a dead green android with exclamation mark.
How can I get back into recovery (stock or phil-touch) ? Do I need to root the phone first before flashing recovery ?
Thanks.

Found the answer from another thread. All I had do was that:
1) unplug USB cable right after recovery was flashed
2) tap the power button
3) immediately hold down power and up-vol buttons to boot
4) select recovery (down-vol) and the up-vol to boot into phil-touch recovery.

How are you entering recovery? What steps? Do you have custom recovery TWRP installed or are you talking about stock recovery?

Im talking about stock recovery...
Googled it and found the steps.
1. Volume down + Power key.
2. Then with volume key select Recovery mode.
3. It shows 'no command' with red exclamation Android logo.
Now comes the steps I was missing...
4. Press & hold the power key, then press the volume up button once holding the power key & then release the power button.
5. It boots to the stock recovery.
Are these steps correct or is there any other way ?

- Enter recovery.
- When you see the "no command" with the android red exclamation, hold power button and press volume+
-Hold both for a second then release power.
- You should see the recovery menu now.

Bricked. Can't access fastboor or recovery

Hi guys,
my Mate 9 is stuck at the black screen after the Huawei logo screen with the "Your device is booting now..." text. I can't get into recovery mode or fastboot mode. Is there any way to get out of this situation?
Here is what has happened:
I wanted to root my Mate 9 so I first unlocked the bootloader and flashed the TWRP recovery.
But after flashing the recovery I couldn't get into the recovery. When I pressed the button combination the phone was always stuck at the screen with the "Your device is booting now..." text. But when I booted the phone normally without pressing any button it would boot just fine past the screen.
So I thought I should try to relock and unlock the bootloader and install the recovery again.
When relocking and rebooting the phone it went to the Huawei Updater mode or eRecovery mode, I don't know which one. It wanted to reinstall the firmware or something. But that failed so I thought maybe I should flash the stock recovery so that it can install the stock firmware.
Then I unlocked the bootloader again and the phone reboots automatically and wants to factory reset the system but it gets stuck at the black screen with the "booting now" text.
Now I can't do anything. It doesn't boot normally, can't get into fastboot or recovery mode. Can't do anything, basically.
Is there a way to save it or am I game over now?

Booting to recovery (TWRP) using power + volume up with USB plugged in goes to eRecovery.
Power + volume down is fastboot, regardless if you have USB plugged in.
This mode should always work.
Power + volume up and down goes to the auto update screen.

Wow, I just wanted to say that no combination works but somehow it went into bootloader mode.
I tried the power + vol down or vol down + plug in usb but that didn't work. Now I pressed vol down + power and plugged in and plugged out the usb cable repeatedly. Maybe it worked because the battery was empty, i don't know.
I had a root Huawei and have now managed to have gotten it exchanged and will not be rooting this device for a while. While I miss out on rooted apps the speed and performance of this device for me outweighs having root access.

Soft bricked Galaxy s3 sch-i535 can't flash bootloader

I have searched everywhere for answers and am getting more confused the further down the rabbit hole I go.
My phone says "Device memory damaged. Data partition is corrupt, must factory reset"
Reset button does nothing.
Boot into recovery mode: Screen shows "Recovery booting..." then nothing. Screen flashed to dead android with red triangle, no menu visible.
Boot into download/odin mode: Attempt to flash, returns these errors (depending on the file):
"sw rev check fail :fused 2 >binary 0";
"secure check fail : recovery";
"secure check fail: system"
I'm lost, please help
