[Q] Where TuneIn Radio Pro saves records - General Questions and Answers

Hello, recently there was an update on TuneIn Radio Pro
Before this update, TuneIn Radio Pro records kept the files in the "TuneIn Radio" folder on the sdcard.
Now, apparently changed the location. Inside the TuneIn Radio Pro app, I see the recordings usually, however not against using the default file manager or Root Explorer.
Anyone know where TuneIn Radio Pro app is storing latest files with the recordings?

I'm working on this, and only know at this point it's NOT on the extSDCard.
They are pi**-ants aren't they?
Gawd I hate people who answer like I just did ...
I meant to mention that I know this as my extSDCard wasn't recognized just now and so I thought I'd see if the recording that actually worked last night would play - it did, but interestingly the icon for the station wasn't there. Remounted the card and played the recording and this time the icon WAS there.

Found them I think

On an asus tf101 I tthink they are located in system root/data/data/radiotime.player/cache then each recording is in a sperate folder with the extension tir
Now if someone cleverer than me can work out if they can be transferred and played in a non-rooted device that would be fantastic! But hey at least they can be backed up now!
.

Hi,
I've just installed tunein radio pro to a new device and no files are showing up in the tuneinradio folder, they did on my previous phone . Is this because the tunein radio "pro" mandatory save folder has been changed or because my latest phone is not rooted ?

Hello, try this:
system root/data/data/radiotime.player/cache then each recording is in a sperate folder with the extension .tir

Hello!
I have unrooted nexus 7 (2013) and folders /root and /data are empty. It's situation really confuse me. Maybe somebody have any idea, where tunein can store my records? And an important note: after reboot, my recordings disappear. It's really important for me, because i'm now in place, with very poor 3G connection and i can listen only recordings.
Thanks

Location of recordings in TuneIn Pro v12.5 android
Where are the files located in TuneIn Pro v12.5 android, they are not in Tunein folder. The files don't seem to be hidden either.

Hi, So is there anyone who find recordings location?
regards

Figured it out
On the old phone locate TIR recorded folder & zip the recorded folders into zip file, and the move it onto extSd & unzip in same default location of Tune in radio on new phone

[TUT] Custom songs in radio for GTA3 Android

Hello everyone.
So if you got your GTA3 on your Android and would like your own custom songs played in car radio stations, here is an easy way to do it.
All radio stations are actually 1 recording, which includes commercials, songs, etc. So for each radio station there is 1 audio file.
What you can do is either replace the radio station with 1 song, edit the existing radio station or combine more songs into 1 file and use that.
Here is how you do it.
1) Getting the files
Connect your phone via USB, navigate to this path:
sdcard/Android/data/com.rockstar.gta3/files/GTA3/audio
***note: the path could be a little different, check both internal and external cards and look inside Android/data or just data/ or data/data folder - you are looking for com.rockstar.gta folder, should be over 400MB size***
When you find the folder, copy the following files to your computer:
HEAD.nfx
CLASS.nfx
KJAH.nfx
RISE.nfx
LIPS.nfx
GAME.nfx
MSX.nfx
FLASH.nfx
CHAT.nfx
Each of these files represents one radio station, here is the chart:
head radio = HEAD.nfx
double cleff fm = CLASS.nfx
jah radio = KJAH.nfx
rise fm = RISE.nfx
lips 106 = LIPS.nfx
game fm = GAME.nfx
msx fm = MSX.nfx
flashback 95.6 = FLASH.nfx
chatterbox 109 = CHAT.nfx
2) Back up!
Once you have those 9 files on your computer just copy them in a folder for backup.
That way, if you screw something up OR wish the original radio stations back you can.
3) Customizing radio stations
Replace 1 radio station with 1 song
Let's say you don't like game fm and would rather listen to your song coolsong.mp3
Make a copy of your mp3 song
Rename coolsong.mp3 to GAME.nfx
Replace your newly created GAME.nfx file with the original GAME.nfx file on your phone (overwrite)
Done. In game, select game fm radio station to listen to your coolsong!
Replace 1 radio station with multiple songs
Similar to replacing 1 song. Only here, you use some audio joining software to merge multiple songs in 1 file.
Let's say you don't like game fm and would rather listen to X other songs
Merge/join your songs with audio editing software (google for help)
Let's say you merged X songs in a file named mergedsongs.mp3
Rename mergedsongs.mp3 to GAME.nfx
Replace your newly created GAME.nfx file with the original GAME.nfx file on your phone (overwrite)
Done. In game, select game fm radio station to listen to your mergedsongs!
Edit existing radio stations
You can also edit (cut out, add, etc) the existing radio stations.
Let's say you wish to edit radio station game fm
Rename GAME.nfx to GAME.mp3 --> now you have 1 mp3 file you can play on your PC or edit
Use any audio editing software to add/remove/etc parts of the GAME.mp3
When done, rename GAME.mp3 back to GAME.nfx
Replace your newly created GAME.nfx file with the original GAME.nfx file on your phone (overwrite)
Done. In game, select game fm radio station to listen to your creation!
4) Tips
If you wish to have the original radio stations back, just copy your files from backup folder on your pc to your phone in the /com.rockstar.gta3/files/GTA3/audio folder and overwrite
You can edit only some radio stations, none or all - depends if you only want your custom music to play or only wish to replace certain stations
If you can't see the file extensions (for example only see GAME and not GAME.nfx) on your pc, go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View and uncheck "hide extensions for known file types"
Questions?
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Enjoy listening to your favorite music in your GTA3 game on android.
Nicely done!

Thanks Too bad that it lags so much on Galaxy S.. I hope they fix it in future updates or that someone figures out how to disable replay recordings or something to improve playability.
Great tutorial!
The file renaming and moving is also possible within your phone using a file manager!
I tried it a few times and it worked great but i may have messed up somewhere as each time i enter a vehicle it seems to crash im assuming this is to do with the audio anyways....
Playing on Galaxy SII
Glad you like it Yeah no reason why it shouldn't work on phone, glad you find it useful.
Working well on Galaxy S2..Thank you!

I don't like the radio in gta iii. E.g.: Commercials where they talking about cute kittens that you get over night blaaaaa.
Can I link your thread in my Modding thread? That would be great!
Ofcourse man go ahead
cool tut for those wondering how-to
can the changed filesize be as big as i want?
Yes filesize shouldn't matter. For example original file sizes were atleast twice smaller than my new files, so it shouldn't matter.
Im just preparing them and my files are like 40-50mb. Ill let you know if it works, but I think it will.
EDIT:
works all fine. thanks so much!!!

Hi, unfortunly it doesn't works for me, i've done all you've said, but each time i try it ingame and select the chosen radio, there is no music playing and after a few seconds the game stop running.
P.s : i'm on Tegra 2 smartphone, don't know if it matters but i wanted to point it out ^^
Anyway to make this works ?
Thanks !
Why not just use pandora in the background, or the default music player instead of going through all this? I use pandora while playing music even on foot just like the 360

I've seen that behavior on stock UCLE2 as well after flashing a rom or restoring nandroid backup.
Solution is to delete the db files in /data/data/com.android.providers.media/databases and then reboot. Media scanner will then rebuild the media indexes.
After doing a lot of searching and reading, I found the above reply in another thread. This is the same problem I am having with my music files. I tried the fix mentioned, removing the db files and rebooting. This works great and rebuilds the database so only one instance of a file is displayed. Until the next time you reboot, when the duplication starts over again. Does any one know of a permanent fix to this issue.

When I go in astro file manager>Android>data>com.android.providers.media Only album thumbs is available. This is on my internal SD and my music is saved to my external SD. Is this where the duplicate files are coming from? So do I delete the album thumbs folder?
Another option is to simply point music folder library to where you know it is. I sync to external sd with double twist, so when I use another player just limit music directory to the folder you sync to.

mediascanner issue? my music is invisible

So I installed jelly bean when it came out. (Codename Android 3.6.0 at the time of writing, but the problem persists regardless of the specific rom I'm using). I noticed that none of the music players available in the play store can find my music on my sd card. They are all in a folder named mp3, but I even tried renaming it to music - no luck. Also, the only pictures I can see in my gallery are the ones that have been made since the installation of the current rom. Does anyone have an idea how to force the mediascanner to actually scan my media? Damn, I want my media so bad

I have no idea why your music isn't being picked up. That's usually never an issue. Maybe someone else can chime in.
As for the gallery pictures not showing up. Just download Quick Pic from the Play Store. The default Android Gallery has been crying to be put of out of its misery for awhile now. It's terrible and slow. Yes, you can transfer pictures to your device and the gallery will take 5 minutes to eventually display them. Quick Pic is superior and will instantly pick up any pictures you add. No waiting involved.

Thank you for the tip, QuickPic actually solved my gallery issue, what still remains is the music list not showing up in any of the players I have tried... (Winamp, Google Play Music, Apollo, just to name a few)
check if one of the apps in use is the media scanner in a constant state of reboot.
media scanner problems often are caused by malformed jpeg file, the bug usually lies in the Exif information, you can use this tool (http://www.digitalconfidence.com/BatchPurifier.html) to remove Exif information from the file, 95% chance that everything returns to work including music and video because the media scanner is shared and if it hangs on jpeg images then can not catalog other multimedia files.
you will lose data such GPS position but the photo itself will remain intact, many have pointed at Camera360 as one of the sources of these corrupted files and I can confirm that.
I got a similar issue before and is solved by copy all media to a pc, delete the files in the phone, then move them back, see if it can help you

Alrighty. Just make sure there are none at the root of the SDcard or in folders where you want pictures to appear. Clockworkmod ROM Manager had a bug back a lil while ago where it put some .nomedia files in wrong folders, making people unable to find their music/picture.

Anybody have the solution? I am able to see pictures in gallery and videos on my MX player but no music?
I deleted nomedia (found one) and got rid of rom manager but still my music files don't show up with all the players. I can go directly to media/music via root explorer and play it though.
Go to your apps, find Media Storage, and then clear data & cache.
Download Rescan Media from the play store and run it. Wait for a bit (5 minutes should be good) and if you check in your music player(s) you should be able to see your music.
database or cache that the media scan builds is gone

I have done that and everything works fine. BUT! after a battery change or charge (plug in USB cable) the database or cache that the media scan builds is gone. Deleted or corrupted by something. Its back to the same state, no music, video, added ringtones or pics show until a rescan. What could be deleting it?

[Q] PLEASE HELP! Notification sound and music library are gone!

All of a sudden my sms notification sound doesn't work anymore. I try to look into it, finding out that the file is still in the Notifications folder and evetything, only to discover that in Play Music all my music library is also gone! Simply vanished! Of course, all the files are still on the device, accessible and playable through the file explorer (even with Play Music), but in the library they're nowhere to be found. None of them. Also, when selecting a notification sound in the (default, preinstalled) messaging app, I just don't see the 3 files that I myself have put in the Notifications folder.
I've tried re-copying the files to the device and nothing happens. Play music keeps telling me to copy music on my device via USB ..
I'm running Cyanogen OS 12, all stock, but this happend in medias res, so to speak, I've been using the OS since it finally came out. I've been looking for an in-call sound recorder though the other day and tried a few (none of them working properly), tried different settings in them. Might this have been the cause of my troubles? Also, please someone help me how to sort this out, it's driving me crazy!
Edit: I have now tried to reinstall Play Music and the BS Player, in hope that maybe I will have some drivers reinstalled and everything will turn out right. Well, it didn't.
This afternoon I found out that not only my audio files, but also my pictures and videos are not recognized by any gallery-software. Not the Cyanogen Gallery, nor the Google Photos app. Nor the camera app. I can still see all the files on the device (I have tons of photos) in the File explorer, but not in the designated apps.

Workaround/Solution:
1. Delete instances of .nomedia files in the root of your sd card
2. Go to Music folder-----Create another folder in the Music Folder----Move ur songs into this folder . Now the files would appear in the multimedia player and play just fine.
3. Similarly create another folder under DCIM/Camera and move ur pics into the new folder. They will now appear in the gallery app.
======
The above is at best a workaround and I still dont know why the stock media players and gallery wouldn't recognise files in the stock directories.
I hope some senior dev or enthusiast may like to shed some light on this issue.

Thank you so much for answering! I was almost set that I'd have to re-flash the rom .. which would be rather inconvenient, as it's my exam period and I really don't have much time.
Anyway, I was thinking - Cyanogen OS 12.1 OTA is just about to be rolled out. Maybe if I wait for it to come out, it would fix my base problem? I know it's not a clean flash, but still..

Do you think it would possible to somehow "reset" the existing .nomedia files? Or if I just deleted them, would they be (properly) reset even if I don't move my media files?
Just thinking Also, would you happen to know where I should look for the .nomedia files in my root? I wouldn't want to miss any.
Hi, I am on different phone and came here for searching same problem. Well in particular your problem, as suggested above, deleting .nomedia files will do the trick.
Download es file explorer and search for ".nomedia" and delete all. Then again perform deeper search and delete them.
Sometimes clearing data of media storage also help(settings >apps>all>media storage>force stop>clear data)
What problem I am facing is, the no media files are keep coming upon restarts. Very annoying and doesn't go even after restored to earlier back up...
Anyone who knows solution for this, his help will be greatly appreciated.

Video skipping forward issue

This happened when I upgarded to nougat on my s7 edge and now occurs on my s8 plus. The first thing I noticed is that video and image titles have changed to random numbers. The second issue being that the player can no longer skip to the next video [or image] despite being in the same folder. However, these features work inside the stock samsung gallery app. The next video in the queue can be played and titles show appropriately. I do not have encryption on and I've tried a factory reset. Could this be some security measure in nougat / touchwiz or what is going on. Anyone experience this?
Can't skip to next file anymore
Hi there,
I've got exactly the same problem described by fourskim but on a Motorola Moto Play Z with Nougat
I'm not able to skip to the next video in an directory anymore.
It doesn't matter at all, which kind of data manager app i use to get a list of the files and
it doesn't matter if it is an internal directory, or a directory on SD-Card, or on a USB-Stick....
It's not very handy closing the mxplayer after every single file, searching the next file, and start the mxplayer again.
I've got the PRO Version - but it is the same with free Version....
Ne ver had this issue with MXPLAYER all the years before.
Any ideas ?

It's because nougat changes. It no longer allows the app to pass the file path to external apps. They are forced to use content scheme.
MX Player will receive something like content://com.sample.app/something. When MX Player can't detect the directory, it can't play previous or next videos from that directory.
We are working on that. It will be fixed on upcoming MX Player v1.9.0.
