This means your phone's stock recovery or any recovery that you currently have is corrupted .....
There are method to flash only your corrupted recovery , but I recommend to re- flash your stock firmware using pc ( as such methods has always resulted in failure)
Hope it helps

I mean your recovery is corrupted ...so you can either revert back to 0.96 and start flashing a fresh stock kernel or stay in the same version and flash..... recovery corruption mostly occurs when trying to flash a new recovery over the stock recovery ....

dude please help with it i am totally new to it .. tell me how to go back to 0.96 step by step please i updated this with HOX and cid changed from 111111 something to HTC_621. please tell me step by step

Surf the cwm and find an option 'mount sdcard ' or 'mount usb ' ( generally found under 'mounts and storage' )
Doing this will access sdcard on phone
check your pc whether you can access it there ....

If u can access fastboot you are fine. Once in fastboot flash the right boot.img then go to recovery reflash ur rom and reboot
I find it simpler to flash the RUU. Less work

Not quite, he also cannot access his SD card. He needs to follow the link above to flash back to stock recovery, wipe storage to get access to his sd card back, then reflash custom recovery. From there he can copy the correct ROM.zip to his sd card ready for flashing after he fastboot flashes the correct boot.img.

Htc One S bricked
Hi im relatively new at rooting and am currently experiencing issues with a bricked device.
i have two htc one s devices
my personal one is running cm10 ville with clockwork touch recovery and is working perfectly
however the second one i was using the same exact files.
this one is bricked
its in a constant bootloop.
i can get back to my recovery just fine and get to the fastboot in the phone fine
i cleared my cache
wiped my data and wiped the dalvik cache all perfectly fine when i try to flash the cm10 official rom back on it cannot mount the sd card
i would try to install a different recovery and try again maybe using viper one s
but i cannot get the phone to power on
it doesnt showup on the computer when it is plugged in while in fastboot
when i try the cmd fastboot flash recovery it says waiting for device
any advice. this is not my own phone so i need it repaired pretty quickly.
any helpful information would be much appreciated.

This little post just pulled me out of missery. Love ya man!
all you guys getting sorted
make a nandroid and sdcard bu NOW and put them on pc,
obviously leave a copy of nandroid on phone also
makes it a lot easier if you get in trouble again
and you/we will
Mounts and Storage --> Format everything --> Now Mount USB Drive --> Put Gapps and ROM
Flash it, erase cache & and Dalvik...Blah blah blah. Flash boot.img in fastboot, and there you go.
Everybody, please remember this and there won't be noob q&a anymore...

[Q] how to get back to stock rom?

Hello.
I made a terrible mistake and i delete my entire system, whitout backup first.
my device is now rooted, with twrp. I tried a several ruu, but i can't find one for version 1.18.709.3. my cid is HTC_621.
I also tried a several roms with sense 5, but the wi-fi data can't work. Right now i have no operating system.
Do you have any ideas what should i do for getting back on stock rom, no twrp and unrooted? Kind regards.

I guess i have a custom rom if i it get me in bootloader after i download updates. all i want is to have stock rom, unrooted, without twrp and to install updates ota
here is how i proceed:
downloading your rom from dropbox.
put the rom on a sd card
Open the rom zip and extract the boot.img file to the adb folder
Connect the phone to pc
opened cmd
restart phone in bootloader
type adb devices, but my device serial number arent showed here, but i have installed htc sync
Type "fastboot erase cache"
Type "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
Type "fastboot erase cache" again
Type "fastboot reboot recovery" to get to CWM or TWRP, but the command doesn't work. still, i enter manually on recover
Backup system, data, and cache but it says "failed on cache"
Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format system
Install the rom from sd card.
