only messed with apks once, but I noticed not all the files in the apk I was messing with were compressed to the same level..
I had to add one separately with 0 compression to make the apk the similar size as the original. for some reason I was being anal about it at the time... just a thought

I always compare's the compression level with the original apk...
Almost all time the size of modified apk and original apk matches (maybe with a difference less than 1 mb)

That's up to you. Just bear in mind that as its experimental, not everything works so don't waste too much time trying to get something working that may simply be down to a problem with ART

ok, art depends on precompiling code emlements, which means, eg. if you edit the layout files, it can be possible that the precompiled data leads to the force closes - especially dynamically created views, can be a killing options :/

Where is this Precompiled data located in ?
I tried wiping data,cache,dalvik-cache Still the problem exist..
Does this issue somehow related with classes.dex ?

There's no reason to switch, since now you can get the same speed with this. I flashed the mods on my N5 and N7 and have noticed a considerable increase in speed on both devices.

dalvik and art are two independent runtimes, both implemented in android since 4.4.0. the dalvik machine uses .dex files, in a small kind of "precompiled". wiping the dalvik cache only deletes dalvik related files, like the .dex files.
for art, sorry i dont know where they are located or how they are made :/
maybe try to install the modified app in dalvik, and then switch to art, so the data of the app i new compiled.

can you post a logcat?
take a look here, it seems similar problem...
maybe invalid package error?
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=61916
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2027663
you can switch to dalvik, delete the apps data in /data/data ..., install the modded apk and switch to art again

will not work on a Classic Desire .. yet
ok so i tried to port that dump and tried to flash, it seems that there is not enough space in our nand again but im not sure. i looked in Qtadb the flash procces and saw that the files are being installed to the system directory, but than when flash finishes the files are deleted... can anyone help me with this?
omerkisoss:The /system partition of our Desire is 256000Kb. The /system of Saga ROM is more then 330Mb.
You don't do anything at this point!
The thread is obviously for developers who will make a flashable rom out of it.

No, beacuse it will move the data files to the ext, but the system will still be to big for the desire.
You need to move some of the system apps to the data partition, and symlink them to system partition.
thats an option, you can use the data2ext script in order to save space in the data partition.
Other options are to try to optimize the apk's in order to save space, or to just delete some of them untill just remeber to not pass the 256mb.

hold your horses, there is a long way till we sort this out to work bugfree, data2ext/a2sd/data2sd can be changed under 2 mins, roms (this one the ace one) can be made to fit in nand without deleting important stuff.. so the problem is porting libs to desire , drivers which is hard since we DON"T have gingerbread drivers for desire

you can use a root file explorer(if you have root) to disable/turn off thermal throttle. the file is located in /sys/module/msm_thermal/parameters/enabled/ then change the Y to a N.
Also, kernels such as chaos or faux allow you to change the thresholds

oh, yea, hardware wise there has been an improvement. the n5 doesnt throttle as much or as hard as the n4. and thats odd that franco didnt expose the files for thermal throttle, many other kernels do.

I read that Nexus 5 still throttles a lot compared with another SnapDragon 800 SoC (Galaxy Note 3):
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/11/when-benchmarks-arent-enough-cpu-performance-in-the-nexus-5/
Yeah it does. 65-70 degrees C for frequency-core throttle respectively I believe.
I've set mine to 80-85 though that is NOT a recommendation!

thats because of the code, not the device. samsung sets it up how they want it, just how google sets it up how they want it. but its not a bad thing. i run my device with throttle disabled, but i dont care about heat. if google made it not throttle, all we would be reading about is how hot the nexus 5 gets. and it gets pretty hot with throttle on!

you hit thermal shutdown. its really easy to do with antutu, even with throttle on. why did it reset it, did you save your edit or did you just change it and exit?

oh, i misunderstood the first time. it doesnt stick after a reboot. after a reboot you have to disable throttle again. there are kernel control apps that do it as well, i use the trinity kernel toolbox to disable thermal throttle usually(but have to disable it after every reboot).

Everything in /sys "belongs" to the kernel and is set by the hardcoded values in the kernel when the system is rebooted. This is why we need to use apps or scripts to change the /sys values after (or at) boot

Thanks for your response. Yes, I cleared the Speedtest app's data, uninstalled/re-installed, and cleared cache and Dalvik in recovery.
EDIT: The only thing I remember doing since it last worked is to test an app called Android Tuner. I ended up uninstalling it.
BTW, I also fixed permissions.
Have you frozen anything? Or changed any location things?

I don't think I changed the location of any files, if that is, in fact, what you mean. If you mean location, as in geographic, no, I don't think that I have changed anything either in that regard.

I am happy to help in this forum, that I regret that there are sections that by not having more than one certain number of comments you can not comment. happened to me that any could have helped and have not been able to put my solution I am sorry that this is so I do not agree at that point in this forum, there are people who can provide much, and surely have not been able to publish their respuestae of aid. Thanks again for opening a post in which everyone can participate or what it is to help deserroyar the system, thank you.
Hey guys its been a long time since I've been on xda. So I'm currently running lollipop and just want to clarify a few things if that's alright with you guys. Firstly does anyone know if doze mode works on this build because i was really excited about this feature. I also want to ask one more thing. Do you guys use the adoptable storage feature? If so how are you finding it and are there any bugs with it. That's it guys sorry for the long post but i hope i get some feedback of you guys. Thanks for reading.
No, doze isn't there.. also, the adoptable storage works fine.. but like we could move ONLY SOME APPS to the SD Card in previous android versions, it is the SAME to be honest... am using it currently.. but it can help save some space for new apps...
The only problem is, we still can't choose to directly download apps to the Ext SD.. like if you download a big game, like FIFA 15 or something, it won't get downloaded..
Also, you may like to know that the Camera doesn't work in the latest alpha(ALPHA 3) as of now

No, logcats do not reveal your personal data...
Yeah, you should take logs as soon as the bug takes place

I have a question myself,
Can't the cm12.1 cam libs be used to fix the cam bug?
If the camera libs from the Alpha 1 could be PMed to me by someone, I can try fixing it in the Alpha 3 maybe?

Is there a Changelog for this build? Just asking because the OP says that the latest build is currently 20th.
