Hi all,
I need help regarding safe mode screen. Actually i already tried all methods from others forum but no success. Somehow i noticed my phone volume button not functioning. Can i do factory reset in phone setting and get back to normal mode? Hope someone will give a guide and i'm very thankful about this.

I have a Motorola Atrix that is locked and I am not sure were to begin looking for a solution.
it is stuck on the screen that says "Starting RSD Protocol Support"
I have revoved the battery countless times trying every way to start the phone into any mode where i can do something.
I have tried holding the power button while pressing the up volume, the same thing with down volume and nothing works. I have looked into several methods to root this or get into it somehow but everything I have checked into requires you to put the phone into usb debugging mode. and that is not possible.
does anybody have any ideas ?
Thanks
What did you do before it got stuck on the RSD screen? You should not use RSD for anything other than pudding (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261). Do not casually flash sbf files. Stick to full ROMs.
If you can't enter fastboot mode or recovery then you might have a hard brick?
Hi, the person who had the phone explained what she did and I thing it is hard bricked, she messed something up trying to setup a motoblur acount and decided to just do a factory reset, but she looked online and read that to reset the phone she needed to reboot using the power / volume up buttons, she did that and ended up at this screen and because she did not know to put the phone into usb debugging mode she now has an expensive little paper weight.
thanks for your reply

Can you power it down? If not try removing battery (on your own risk) for 30sec then put back in and try to get into bootloader (Power button+ Vol Down).
If you get in try recovery or flash new recovery via fastboot.
Hey there,
I have a Lenovo A916 which was pretty reliable. However, it is currently stuck in a boot loop. It wasn't the average type of bricking where one was trying to flash a new rom or where one was trying to root the phone. It was one where a vital app was deleted (I believe the OS UI, I may be wrong) and thus it won't restart properly. I have searched several forums and researched several processes but I wanted more advice before I tried to unbrick the phone myself.
Unfortunately, the drawbacks are that there isn't much information out there about the particular type of phone, and it makes it hard to apply methods that are made for more popular models.
The phone is rooted but the boot loader is locked. Obviously I cannot go into USB debugging mode but the phone does have a memory card slot. I have both the original and a custom rom downloaded and the relevant drivers. I even have Lenovo's LeTools.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Have you tried factory reset? I have the same phone.
Turn it off, then hold the middle of the volume rocker firmly and keep holding it while you turn on the phone - you will see a green tilted android.
Press on/off button 1 time
use the volume rocker to move down to wipe data/factory reset and press the in the middle of the volume rocker. Then on the next screen move down to Yes and press the middle of the volume rocker.
Your phone will now factory reset - wait until its done.
it will restart by itself - if not, then move to reboot now and press the middle of the volume rocker.
Hopefully this will fix your issue - though now your facing another one - there might be spyware on your phone and you have to re-root it and depending on the method install either superuser or supersu(best), then remove the spyware with malwarebytes, avast, 360 security. Make a list of those that can't be cleaned.
Then disable the offending apps.
BE CAREFUL! I'm not responsible for what you do!
If you by accident choose the wrong thing, then hold the power button for 30 seconds and your phone will restart. Turn if off and try again.
Be advised that you will loose all your apps and files, you should remove your MicroSD card first.
Good luck
Factory reset won't work.
You said you just flashed a new rom right?
If you done factory reset, it wouldn't reset your phone COMPLETELY. It will just reset the settings and the data.
What you need to do is you need to find the stock rom of your device. Then reflash it into your device.

No, I didn't flash a new ROM. Actually, I was using the stock ROM when the UI got deleted. I do have the stock ROM however. What is the best way to flash the ROM to my device?

Much appreciate.

.... actually i think it was my fault.
I run a stock german t-mobile s7 wich was recently updated to OREO
I managed to install adhell 3 which worked fine as an adblocker. One nasty T-mobile app kept draining my battery so i decided to enable the app-disabler on the home screen of adhell3. Unfortunately this seemed to have disabled all apps , including all system apps. Now i am stuck in a bootloop.
Can anyone give me some guidance how to resurrect my phone?
I am in vacations right now.... and i would really appreciated having a working smartphone again...
Thank you in advance...
ok.... i can´t even factory reset it.....I can however go into odin mode...

Because you can't go into recovery mode when you stuck in a bootloop, following option should help: flash your stock recovery, TWRP recovery or any other recovery for your device you want via Odin. After Odin is done and after the screen goes off you have to imadiately press volume down, power and home button. Now you are in recovery mode and you can factory reset your device. If you don't have a PC near you, you have to wait until you battery is empty, charge it and then you can go into recovery mode and do a factory reset.
Thanks for the answer!
On my device i could somehow mange to enter the factory reset from the odin screen. But i have no clue what i actually did? Do i have to reinstall oreo now? If my google backup is older than the error i produced i guess it is save to reset the device from there no?

At first, I have to correct myself. I meant volume up, not volume down for recovery mode.
Factory reset from Odin screen? What do you mean? What did you do? And if you did a factory reset and can start and use your phone normally again, everything should be okay. I can't answer your last question because I have no idea.

You will have to wait until your battery discharge fully after that you can enter in recovery mode by pressing volume up, home button and power keys simultaneously. I have gone through this too.
I made the mistake of Factory Resetting my phone after a few failed attempts at remembering the Pattern to unlock the phone, in doing so I ended up being stuck in the set-up process because I forgot the Google account I was logged into on it before the Factory Reset, had been an account I just quickly made on the spot months ago just to set up an app on it. I'm posting here for help with this since I'm on day 4 of trying to find a way to bypass this and my head is ready to explode. I feel like someone with a fresh mind would be able to point me in the right direction.
If anyone can let me know if I'm doing something wrong or missing some steps that will help me try any one of these, or honestly any advice at all... I'd very much appreciate it and it'd help relieve a huge chunk of this ridiculous headache this has all been.
Thanks in advance!
What I've tried thus far --
- I know for most ways around this, USB debugging needs to be enabled. But since I cannot get past the initial set-up process, I can't access the settings to enable it.
- I also know that for a lot of Android devices USB debugging is enabled by default in Recovery Mode but everywhere I've searched for the hardware combination to boot into Recovery/Download mode, all say the same thing:
Turn phone off > Power up with Vol. Down + Power button until 'Download Mode' is displayed (for boot into Download mode, while holding Vol. Down + Power button plug OTG cable into device)
- My problem with this is that on my device, Vol. Down + Power button, restarts the phone. So instead of 'Download Mode', I'm just restarting the phone over and over again. I was able to get my phone to boot into was Safe mode using the Power button + Side button.
- I've also tried getting around this through a series of steps which involved the 'TalkBack' accessibility feature, but when I try toggling to enable it I just get a message saying "Complete setup first to continue"
From there --
I started looking up Stock ROMs that I'd be able to just flash the firmware. But for the life of me, I cannot seem to find anything for this device. And this is where I'm pretty much at now.
To remove FRP lock you boot into phone's Recovery mode and apply
1. Wipe data
2. Factory Reset
Every Android device gets shipped by default with Android Recovery.

I can't get my device to boot into Recovery mode. Everywhere I look up, it tells me to Power off device, then Press Vol. Down + Power key until the menu appears. But on my device, all that combination does is force the phone to restart.
