[Request] Bypass security exchange mod for stock ROM - Xperia Z1 Themes and Apps

Hello, fellow users.
I'm looking for the mod which can disable security protection when using mail app with Microsoft Exchange on stock ROM. I've tried few mods for Xposed, but sadly they didn't work. Search didn't help either. Is there any mod currently in development or anything else that can help to solve this problem?

I already tried xposed mod based on this hack and it didn't work. I guess I have to try again. Do you know if I should set my email again after applying or it has to work anyway? Because I didn't at first time and still had passlock after installing mod and rebooting.

I have tried Xposed MOD base on this Hack to bypass exchange but its not working. After install this MOD, I can setup my exchange account normally without set PIN code or encrypt data. You should try again. Have you enter correctly file name of Email app in /system/app while execute .cmd file? (Eg: SemcEmail)

It works..

Xposed mod worked after I deleted my exchange account, turned on module, rebooted and re-added exchange account.
Hope this info will help someone else.

Thanks. Xposed solution stopped working after few days of using (no jokes, still don't know what exactly happened). I gave up and switched to CloudMagic - works fine for me.
But thank you for that link anyway, I'll give it a try.

[REF] CM9/CM10 apps, CWM flashable

Update: Feb. 26, 2013 - Added CM10.1 Email app (Email2.apk). Delete existing Exchange account off the device, flash Email2.apk zip (listed below), reboot, clear data on 'Email' and 'Exchange Services' apps, re-setup Exchange account on device. Exchange services may FC once or twice, but will then work fine and begin syncing email/contacts/calendars.
Update: Oct. 15, 2012 - Update Genie Widget to version from Google apps 10.11.2012 (v 4.1.2)
Update: Oct. 11, 2012 - Existing apps tested with CM10 10112012 M2 build, confirmed working. Also added CM10 Email app, and bumped Nova Launcher to current 1.3.1 build.
Here are a couple of CWM flashable apps for CM9/CM10 that I've put together. Each zip is configured with the addon.d backup and restore functionality so that the app is automatically backed up and restored as part of flashing a nightly build. No need to reinstall them every time.
Installation: Download the zip(s) to your phone, reboot into cwm recovery, flash one or more of the zip packages, and then reboot.
I'll add more if there are specific requests.
Google apps (ics) 04.29.2012: gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
Google apps (jb) 10.11.2012: gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
-- Not my work, just linking for convenience.
WISP Service: wisp-service-cwm.zip -- This is the AT&T Hot Spots service that performs automatic login to AT&T WiFi networks such as attwifi, hhonors, or other AT&T WiFi provided networks.
Email Exchange (CM9) : cm-9-EmailExchange-4.1-nosec-cwm.zip -- This is the Email.apk and Exchange.apk 4.1 for the latest CM9 nightly builds which has been modified to disable the Device Administrators policy.
Email (CM10): cm-10-Email-4.1-nosec-cwm.zip -- CM10 Email.apk with Device Administrators disabled.
Email (CM10.1): cm-10.1-Email-4.1-nosec-cwm.zip -- CM10.1 Email2.apk with Device Administrators disabled.
Nova Launcher 1.3.1: NovaLauncher-1.3.1-cwm.zip -- This is the stock Nova Launcher 1.3.1 packaged with the addon.d functionality. Did not touch the apk, provided for convenience.
Digital Clock Widget: digital-clock-cwm.zip -- This is the digital clock widget from the stock AT&T rom with the touchwiz references removed so that it will run on CM9.
Digitial Clock Widget (transparent background): digital-clock-transparent-cwm.zip -- Same as digital clock above, but with transparent background.
Digitial Clock Widget (JB UCLK4 leak): digital-clock-jb-tw-cwm.zip -- Digitial clock from UCLK4 JellyBean leak (transparent, updated font.)
Genie Widget (transparent background): geniewidget-transparent-cwm.zip -- Stock Gapps News & Weather widget with a transparent background, instead of black. Note: flash this after gapps zip if you are flashing both, otherwise gapps version will overwrite this one. 10/15/2012 - Updated to gapps-jb-20121011 version (v 4.1.2).
Added digital clock widget to OP.
Added digital clock and genie widget with transparent backgrounds to OP.
Nice work cschmitt. Is there any way you can do the same mod work to the actual clock application? Would be nice to have the Samsung alarm clock, stop watch and timer app.
Thanks.
The stock clock package has a bunch of touchwiz dependencies.

After posting on your thread I did more searching and found someone else already trying to do it. Yeah, it looks like it has deep ties into touchwiz. Oh well, one of the things to miss when going away from the samsung rom. I can find all of the functions scattered around the market and xda, but nobody does a real good job of building an all-in-on clock app. Found alarm clock ultra, probably the closest.
Thank you.

BeautifulWidgets is pretty good. It's like $2.99 or something like that, but it's a really nice set of widgets that includes clock, weather, alarms, and its got a nice look.

Thanks, I actually own it. I was really looking more for the clock app, with the stop watch, timer, world clock and alarm. The Samsung app is pretty nice. Both the one from our skyrocket and the one from the s3.

I love these and still use some of them. (The no security exchange is amazing)
Is there any need to update these for CM10? The email still works with the CM10 nightlies, I was just curious if there's a benefit to using the newer apk's
I saw a topic about how to remove the security settings, but making it flashable and having it restore after nightly updates is confusing me still
Thanks!

Like the Genie, your wish is my command...
Check the OP, added CM10 Email.apk from cm-10-20121011-EXPERIMENTAL-skyrocket-M2 build. Note that in CM10 only the Email.apk needed to be modified to disable Device Administrators, so Exchange2.apk wasn't touched.
Bumped Nova Launcher package to current 1.3.1 build.
The remaining apps in the OP function just fine in CM10.

I followed up by looking at the enabled device administrators section of security settings and sure enough email was listed in there. Does it show up but not take effect? The version I had previously on a 4.1.1 ROM worked and I never got prompted and it never showed up in the device administrators either.

There should be no entry for Email under Device Administrators.
I just tested this a couple of times this morning. Wiped the phone, flashed CM10.0.0, flashed cm-10-Email-4.1-nosec-cwm.zip, factory reset, reboot. (Not the it's necessary to wipe and factory reset, just wanted to ensure a clean slate for the test.)
Opened Email to configure exchange account, was prompted with 'Remote security administration', The server .... requires that you allow it to remotely control some security features...', clicked OK, but there was no second prompt to activate the Device Administrator and there is no Email configuration under Security -> Device administrators.
Just to be clear, if an exchange account is currently configured, it must first be deleted along with the corresponding Device Administration entry. Then flash cm-10-Email-4.1-nosec-cwm.zip, reboot, and re-configure the exchange account.

I'm still getting the Device Administrator prompt. This is the first time setting up the account on CM10 so it didn't exist previously. My process is, reboot into cwm, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, install cm-10-toro.zip, install gapps, reboot, setup gmail, install apps from play store, update apps (if necessary), reboot into cwm, flash cm-10-Email-4.1-nosec-cwm.zip, reboot, setup exchange and I still get the device admin prompt.
I went into root explorer and found that the date/time stamps for the email.apk and exchange.apk under /system/app looked to be from 2008 so it appears that they are not updating when the zip is flashed. Went ahead and manually copied the email.apk from the zip into /system/app and didn't get a device administrator prompt but the exchange service fc'd. I'm guessing it's because I don't have a corresponding exchange.apk. I thought of extracting the two apks from my old rom but that one was not built off aosp so I think the files are emailgoogle.apk and exchange2google.apk so I don't think those will work. Any other ideas?
Anything flashed while in recovery will have an 2008-08-01 file date.
I haven't tested it on anything other than a Skyrocket-- should work, but can't guarantee it and have no way to test on other hardware.
BTW, I've experienced the Exchange FC once or twice when initially syncing an exchange account, just re-opened Email after the FC and it worked fine.
Are you installing the appropriate gapps package first?
Wipe - install cm10 - install gapps - install this email zip
If you are copying the apks manually, you will just copy the email apk from the zip into system, then change permissions on the apk, and then clear data for email and exchange
I've run this package on both the gapps from July and the ones from October that rpr had in his nightly builds

Got it working. Had to manually move the files over instead of flashing from cwm but it worked after the one exchange fc.

Did this and it worked. For any newbies like me make sure you move the \system\app\email.apk to your root \system\app\ and replace the other one. After that make sure it has Owner Read/Write permissions, Group read, and Others read permissions. Then clear data and execute it from that folder to install.

Stock news & weather widget

I recently switched to Crash V6 XXLRG 4.0.4 ROm which is absolutely superb
The only thing I miss is the stock Samsung 4 x 1 news & weather widget.
Having saved it from a previous LQ2 stock ROM, I have reinstalled and can use the associated app but the widget itself did not install.
Is there any way of being able to install it?
Thanks in advance...

Hi - I think so in so far as I used the install app function on CWM and clicked yes when the blurb came up about it being a system app and did I want to replace it...
Thanks for taking the trouble to upload this Dr. Ketan - I installed it but unfortunately no change; it works as an app but no 4 x 1 widget!

Thanks Dr Ketan & afilopou - finally worked out how to do this and have moved it to the system app folder, and changed the permission to the same as all the other apps in the folder, namely -rw-r-r-- but widget still does not appear in the add to home screen widget gallery ...
Am I doing something wrong?
I would welcome any other suggestions!
You did it correctly.
And you need to reboot
another thing are you sure you are not using autostart or same application and you have disable to load this appl on boot? this also cause not to display on widget list.

I have updated CRASH to v7, widget now installed, however neither the widget or app will actually work - I get an error message saying "network error - try again later" which means I can't acess any news at all!
NB. Wif/data/downloads are working for everything else
There must be a way of rectifying this?!

Where is the apk link ?
Or install another launcher like Nova launcher, make it the default launcher.
After that install the S8 launcher from within Nova launcher.
The S8 launcher and hello Bixby both install with no errors at all if you do this.
After that change the default launcher back to TouchWiz home then restart.
No need to put apps on the desktop and quickly install them after the restart.
If you then find you don't want to use Nova any more just uninstall it.
Job done.
still no work deodex>odex apk won't be installed for telecom.apk

Yeah that does not work either. I've been running Nova launcher prime and trying to install. PACKAGE CONFLICTS WITH ANOTHER WITH SAME NAME. Every time. Tried all the tricks.
nothing works with me either. Does somebody have any other solution for this? Many Thanks
I tried every trick but the installation still fails. Turned wifi off, tried offline mode, disabled every security check, using shortcut, wiping cache, used nova... I'm using the latest Nougat with April security updates. Maybe this is the reason? Does anyone have another solution? (no-root, no data wipe)

I wonder if it would work by simply removing your existing Google account temporarily, install some apps, then add the same Google account back in?
Also, this adb install command with some option switches supposed to bypass app version issues, so if somebody wants to try it, report back please.
It would either work or fail, but it won't break anything on the phone.
adb install -d -r -t AppName.apk
adb install doesn´t work

Cannot Update Stock (Samsung) Email

Hello all,
Since the last firmware update (G930FXXS1DQHN) of my S7 G930F I have issues with seeing the folder content of several maps in my stock (Samsung) email client v4.0.87.0. Apparently, I am not the only one and have it with several (exchange) accounts. Before the latest firmware upgrade all worked fine.
The provided stock email in the firmware seems to be pretty old. Many newer releases of Samsung Email are available, but unfortunately, I cannot install neither of them (package conflict with already exsisting package error), hoping an upgrade of the stock client solves my issues.
Is there a way out to upgrade the stock Samsung email client on a non rooted S7? Thanks in advance for replies.
For info: my T813 tablet running stock email v4.0.70.0 does NOT have this issue of not displaying folder content of some email folders.

For info: my T813 tablet running stock email v4.0.70.0 does NOT have this issue of not displaying folder content of some email folders.

Thanks for reply, but I had already Secure Startup Enabled and multiple reboots....but do not see the relation with respect to options to install APK updates of stock apps. One only adds a password to eneable starting up the system. Or am I stupid ?
Any more detailed info availble how to tackle this one?

It is the known fix for the "Package name conflict" error when trying to update stock apps, works without fail for everyone up until now
Either disabling or enabling secure startup and then rebooting allows the install, doesn't seem to care which one you do as long as it is the opposite of whatever you had set when it wasn't working
Try Disabling Secure Startup > Boot to recovery > Clear cache partition > Reboot > Install APK
If that fails, enable Secure startup again and reboot once more, try installing apks
Keep in mind, if you reboot without toggling secure startup, apps will fail to install again on next boot, they only install after you toggle that setting and then reboot, rebooting normally will break it again
Well, now it is clear and it worked. Updated to version 4.2 now . Thanks for the good tip!!! It will make my colleagues happy as well.
:good:
Funny to see that this trick does NOT work on my Tab S2 T813, unfortunately.

Yes, and also running on Nougat. Tried multiple times and switched between Disabling / Enable Secure Startup and immediate reboot, then install apk.

That trick was only for the S7, not heard of it working on any other devices, would need to find another solution I guess

Rooted devices have no secure startup option
Not sure how you would install the updates apps without it, unless you know how to replace the stock ones manually using a root file explorer

APK install fail, package name conflict.

Hi guys,
I have been trying to install the latest release of Xperia Home (11.0.A.0.1) from apkmirror but I'm getting an error:
App not installed.
The package conflicts with an existing package by the same name.
I've done some digging and found the same issue with the Samsungs. AllSmokeEm provided a solution (toggling secure startup settings) but I don't believe we have this option in Sonys.
I have a sneaky feeling that it has to do with the last security patch I've installed a few days ago (41.2.A.7.65), because I never had this issue before!
Thanks for the help.

I am using the latest update, the one you tried. I didn't have any problem upon installing it since I am a beta user so I get it from Update Center. I suggest you subscribe to the Xperia™ Home Open Beta community in Google+ to get updated. But if you don't like but still want to install the laest home, I see that there are two 11.0.A.0.1 files in apkmirror. Try the other one, you might be able to install it.

See the screenshot. If you downloaded the first one, try the second one or vice versa.

Thank you very much for the help, it worked! I'll have a look in the beta community.
Thanks again.
Dear Friend. I had the same issue. The solution comes with root: Go to /system/priv-app/home-sonyericsson-release and rename the apk that exist in folder, copy the downloaded home and put the same name that original ones. Give the permission 755 ( -rwxr-xr-x ) and just to void some error perform the cache clean from the app . Search for "tela inicial Xperia" ( "initial Screen Xperia" or something like this ). After that, restart the device. Now you are using the last home version with no app drawer icon!
