xperia e cant connect to wifi - General Questions and Answers

Hello xda-developers!
I have xperia e and it cant connect to my wifi and to another network. At home I have WPA2 encryption and interface type: 802.11b/g. My router is Thomson ST780. Before WPA-PSK i had WPA+WPA2 and also couldnt connect. Much time before, I had different SSID and then could connect. More strange is that I can connect at the cafe, where encryption is WPA/ WPA2PSK.
If anyone had the similar situation or knows how to solve mine, I would be very grateful
Regards.

VOX not connecting to router

My VOX has stopped communicating to my router. This appears to have happened since I accidently deleted profile but that could be co-incidence..
It sees my network...
Settings VOX
Net type INTERNET
Auth WPA 2
AES
USE IEEE 802.1x YES
AEP type: Smart Card or certificate
Settings WAG200G nothing really relevent here except to say AES as above.
My phone seems to connect WITHOUT encryption but when I add encryption (with real simple password) this is where the phone can't connect for some reason... My laptop is still connected to the router without any problems there is no MAC filter or anything like that.
Anyone please help!
BTW tried hard reset not helped.
i have the exactly same problem. i tried other kinds of config on my router but nothing worked.without encripton or password it connects...
Not connecting to WIFI
Seems more people have this problem?
WPA2 does seem to be a problem. Personally I also use fixed IP, but never got my phone connected to my home network.
@work I use WEP and DHCP, no problem connecting.
@home I use, as mentioned, WPA2, AES, Fixed IP, router.
If anybody got a simple answer...?
btw, I got this problem after using other roms(for almost a year now). Basic HTC rom (WM 6.0 :-( ) seems to work fine.
Half connected in fact
Hi, I'm also getting a wifi problem after installing the RUU_Vox_HTC_FRA_1.34.406.1_4.1.13.54_03.10.90_Ship ROM (and thus resetting everything in the profile), but I wonder if it's really the same thing.
My phone connects to the wifi, gets an IP (both the phone and the router show the same IP attributed), but PIE and Outlook Pocket can not use the network. It's just like they couldn't see the network. But they don't use Edge either to connect, so they probably somehow try to send data to the network, but they fail.
Oh, and WEP encryption changes nothing. And I can't test with fully removing the encryption, as I use an internet box, not a standard router.
What I don't get is that I was browsing just fine on this ROM and the same config in my router I wish someone with more knowledge would spare a minute to help us out here or at least point us in the right direction
Solved
I upgraded the firmware on my router... :d thx

Problem with Topaz Wi-fi router connection

Wi-fi issue

Hello there,
I experience the following problem with my Sony Xperia E SS. -When I turn on Wi-Fi it scans for connections and when I find one and type the password, it just saves it without accessing it (I have tried several routers, searched the forum and made some adjustments to the router that might have helped, but with no result). And when I turn another device into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot it connects to it properly, but there is no access to the internet. Furthermore I cannot download the internet & mms settings no matter how I try so in general I cannot access the internet.
Is there any way to fix this? (I have tried updating with pc companion and update service)
Thank you very much

[Q] How to connect to ad-hoc wifi connection

Hi
Can anyone please tell how to connect to ad-hoc network? I have used many ROMs(Stock ICS, JB leak1 and leak3, mokee, pacman, miui) but not able to connect to ad-hoc network in any ROM. In stock GB I was able to connect to ad-hoc wifi. I also connected to ad-hoc connection in JB leak a couple of time, but not able to connect every time. The behavior for ad-hoc connection is somewhat strange, some times phone just keep on "obtaining ip address" step and some time it connects to the network but internet connectivity lost after few minutes, and some times it does not find the ad-hoc connection at all. It does show other wifi connections from my neighbourhood but It does not show my ad-hoc wifi connection.
If anyone has faced such issue, then please help.
Thanks in advance for your help

I have "data card" to access internet and the lite version of connectify does not support the sharing of internet connection using "data card". is there any way other way I can share my laptop's internet connection with my phone?
BTW, is there any issue with our device/Roms to connect to ad-hoc wifi connection?

WiFi and FritzBox

Hi,
is there a fix for the wireless connection bug between the opo and a fritzbox?
The problem:
The opo is not able to connect to the wlan on the fritzbox with DHCP enabled more than one times.
It is a known problem, there are a lots thread out.
The point is, that the fritzbox is recongnize the opo on every connect as a new device.
When the option "always same ip to the device" is enabled the opo canĀ“t connect anymore.
Some people slove it with unchecking this same ip feature. So they will get a new ip adress on every connect.
I can not use this because i need to have the same ip all the time.
Rebooting the phone (or turning on/off flight mode) helps and you are able to connect once more.
I also tried to assign a manual ip to my phone (not using DHCP). But it not working stable. Sometimes it still crash.
Anyway i was woundering that there are no threads about that problem? Am i the only one?
Anyone knows how to fix this?
ive read about that problem but myself never faced it. (settings like you mentioned). i got the keep ip feature active + dhcp
Fritzboxes I've been connected to:
3390 (at home constantly)
7490
7270
latest firmware.
I have the Fritzbox 6490 and no problems... maybe you could try to reset the router?
