[Q] How to connect to ad-hoc wifi connection - Motorola Atrix 2

Hi
Can anyone please tell how to connect to ad-hoc network? I have used many ROMs(Stock ICS, JB leak1 and leak3, mokee, pacman, miui) but not able to connect to ad-hoc network in any ROM. In stock GB I was able to connect to ad-hoc wifi. I also connected to ad-hoc connection in JB leak a couple of time, but not able to connect every time. The behavior for ad-hoc connection is somewhat strange, some times phone just keep on "obtaining ip address" step and some time it connects to the network but internet connectivity lost after few minutes, and some times it does not find the ad-hoc connection at all. It does show other wifi connections from my neighbourhood but It does not show my ad-hoc wifi connection.
If anyone has faced such issue, then please help.
Thanks in advance for your help

I have "data card" to access internet and the lite version of connectify does not support the sharing of internet connection using "data card". is there any way other way I can share my laptop's internet connection with my phone?
BTW, is there any issue with our device/Roms to connect to ad-hoc wifi connection?

Problem with Topaz Wi-fi router connection

When I enable wi-fi router on my topaz, the network is not seen by either the PC or netbook. I tried to create an ad-hoc connection too but it seems like the PC waiting connection by the device (and I need a reverse communication..) Anyone can help me? Thanks so much!

Accessing internet from WIFI connection

I have an issue with a Sprint TP2 with WIFI. I'm able to connect the router but not able to access the internet. If I connect my phone to the laptop I can use the internet if I change the (Connections:connections: network management) from Sprint to My Work Network but I'm not able to connect via WIFI. I have (Connections: wifi:configure network adapters) to WORK or THE INTERNET for Broadcom 802.11 DHD Network Adapter but it doesn't help. Under Connections: tasks:MY WORK NETWORK:Set up my proxy server I check the box next to THIS NETWORK CONNECTS TO THE INTERNET but it won't stay checked. The profile for the router has been deleted and recreated with no success. I've tried other WIFI routers with no success. My touch pro has no issues. BTW: I'm using version WM6.5.

Sharing tethered internet connection

I live in the sticks and the evdo on my phone is the only high speed internet connection available.
I have no trouble using the ICS to tether to a computer. What I want to do is tether and then share that connection with other computers on the network. When I go to network connections and right click on the windows mobile internet sharing device icon and go through and choose to share the connection with other computers on the network it tells me that the ip address required for internet connection sharing is already in use.
I am guessing that it needs 192.168.0.1 for the network internet connection sharing to work, and that the phone (touch pro) is assigning it to itself when I start ICS.
Anybody have any idea how to make this work?
Thanks

[Q] Using 3G and Wifi simultaneously

I have a Samsung i5800 and would like to use my data plan to use the Internet at home.
I tried setting my router Dlink DIR600 (ddwrt) to connect the phone but for some reason the Dlink is unable to connect to the Adroc network generated by android-wifi-tether.
So I thought to make the phone connect to the Dlink and to make the computers to route the internet through the android but the android does not allow the Wifi and 3G running at the same time.
Is this possible?
no!!!!!!!!
you cant link your router to your phone to boost the signal per say. What you can do is just a simple android tether to the devices you want to use at your home
You can't do that on your Android phone.
Thank you.

[Q] Cannot connect to Wifi Hotspot in Android 2.3.5

I downloaded this program called mhotspot to make my laptop a Wifi Hotspot and shared my dial-up connection with the hotspot.
Now when i connect to the hotspot, it disconnects and halts at "Obtaining IP Address".
To resolve this, i added Static IP address. This fixed the above problem.
Now the wifi gets connected, but when i try browsing in my phone, it does not show up the webpage.
Is there any way to connect my wifi hotspot to the phone?
Phone: HTC Explorer (Pico)
Android: 2.3.5 Gingerbread

From the mhotspot website:
My 'android device' won't connect to the hotspot
>Actually,to say it is a bug in the Android OS related to wifi.
>To reload the wifi driver dial *#*#526#*#* (or) install the "wifi-fixer" app from the market

However, at the same that website looks REALLY sketchy. Ridiculously poor English and a horrible site layout are both bad signs. On top of that, if you're running Windows or Linux (or probably even Mac) then you can create an ad-hoc network (i.e. WiFi hotspot) without any third-party software. I'd get rid of that mhotspot program as fast as you can.
Check out this article for more info on setting up an ad-hoc WiFi network on Windows:

I created an ad-hoc network, but my phone doesn't detect it at all.
As far as i remember stock Android can't connect to wifi ad-hoc hotspot. Only custom roms like Cyanogenmod can do it You should create an Access Point connection using program called Connectify ( if you use Windows 7).

Installed connectify, but the same problem persists. I can connect to the network but internet is unavailable.

I think I remember this being a common problem with the stock soft, with CM it works perfectly.
So either you switch or you need to use an app for this...
Have you set up AP like here in attachment? On my phone works perfectly.
No internet

I had the same problem using Mhotspot & trying to connect my Samsung Android phone to it. Mhotspot is a credible & very popular software ranked number 1 by CNET so don't worry. It's lightweight & free. The "obtaining ip adress" problem may occur due to the limitation cause by your firewall. I disabled my default windows firewall. You can simply add an exception for mhotspot in your firewall settings or disable it since windows firewall is useless anyway. That solved the problem for me.
