USSD Codes depend are the carrier not the phone... No matter if your using a flip phone Moto, LG , etc They are ALL the same..

So why is that it works at my galaxy s3 and not my Moto G, using the same carrier, the same chip?

That's what I'm getting at.... You have something disabled or the moto g is not accepting the codes. But there's no other codes.

That's so weird... Seems that nobody is able to use it on moto g. I just want to change my networks to wcdma only and can't find a way to do it.

I have never heard of a USSD code to change mobile network selection... USSD Codes are use for Checking Min, Balance, IMEI ETC.
I think you are thinking about TestMode/Debug codes.. and in which is something completely different and is NOT a USSD code, You need to find Motorola`s code for test mode etc.

You may be right... I just can't find these codes. I've searched all over Internet. Is there any way to obtain these codes?

[Q] Hangouts Dual chip?

Anyone got or is there some way to configure the Hangouts to decide which chip to use in SMS?
I want to know it too
Sent from my Moto G using Tapatalk
I think you can't do it. Since hangouts isn't open source and Android API doesn't support dualsim by default. In a next version (kitkat) maybe we can select which sim will send SMS, due to improvements on SMS management api,
Sent from my XT1033 using Tapatalk
Just to let you guys know that by default the hangouts choose the first chip to send SMS. It can help a little if you just send SMS using one carrier.

DROID MAXX working perfectly on T-Mobile

My XT1080m is not the Developer Edition, and unrooted, but went to T-Mobile, swapped out my sim for a T-Mobile sim and everything is working perfectly.
Just switch preferred network to LTE/GSM/UMTS and data, phone calls, and texts work just fine
4GLTE the internet is great but i couldn't send texts
EDIT: T-Mobile network much more stable with this app...

Best settings will vary depending on where you are...
You running 4.2.2? Because 4.4 has bad radio issues on. TMO which is what im testing right now
Maxx'd out Kit Kat

You won't be able to make phone calls or send sms while attached to the lte network on 4.4. It's a known bug.

That doesn't sound like "working perfectly" on TMo.

If this phone were working on TMobile, it should also work on AT&T. Right?
Finally decided to use that app and I got better speeds, not bad for Mexican carriers

AH ok, according to GSMarena, the Maxx lacks 850/1900mhz bands that the moto x has.
Thinking about getting the Maxx.. I am on T mobile...Do I need the DEV version ? If not does the VZ version need to be unlocked and rooted to work? Figure since this is last of the real Moto I would really like one to hang on to...TIA

No need to unlock or root anything. Keep in mind that you need to be on a particular version of 4.2.2 (mentioned earlier in this thread I believe) in order to get LTE speeds. If you update to 4.4 you will have issues with calling and texting unless you disable LTE and stick with HSPA+

That's how it was for me.... Data was great on LTE, but sms and mms weren't working... But switching to CDMA (H+) data is more than fast enough and txt and mms no longer have issues

Download using both the networks

Hi this question is in regard to the dual SIM model XT1033
Is there some way that we can get both the networks active at the same time such that we are able to download files using both the connections resulting in higher download speed using only the phone networks?
I do remember reading that this was possible for wifi and mobile network
It, however, would be really useful if this option is created in some way.
Please forgive me if this is technically not possible.
I am new here
Sent from my XT1033 using xda app-developers app
I'd say it's technically impossible, since we'd need 2 radios working at the sime time. It's like being able to switch between calls received on different SIMS.

Only 3g on moto g instead of 3g as a preferred network

Is there any way I can use only 3g network on my stock moto g as the 3g network in my locality is weak ???
Sent from my XT1033
Hm there's a dailer code you can enter to change them sort of setting in a menu but I couldn't possibly tell you what it is. Try google
Moto g dailer codes
Or
Moto g service menu/secrate codes

In network settings, set the network mode as wcdma only or 3g only.

*#*#4636#*#*
Go into phone information...scroll to the bottom, you should see a drop down that gives you several network options
use tellinfo

Use the app "Phone Testing" and in Phone Info Tab select "WCDMA" only..

What have you accomplished with the hidden menu?

To get to the hidden menu for those who don't know how simply dial it 277634#*# after the final # it will go to the hidden menu itself. I haven't messed with it much being I'm used to my samsung phones after 8 years of only samsung I'm new to the LG scene. But what I would like to know is what have all you guys/girls learned, figured out, and or done with the hidden menu to improve you phone experience rather it is speed battery or what ever. It would be nice if you post on what you have done and what it has done for your device experience.
Unlocked my APN for editing. Nice.
I did that as well
If interested I have a way to make it LTE only
I've entered the 227634#*# code into my phone and it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code."
