Hi this question is in regard to the dual SIM model XT1033
Is there some way that we can get both the networks active at the same time such that we are able to download files using both the connections resulting in higher download speed using only the phone networks?
I do remember reading that this was possible for wifi and mobile network
It, however, would be really useful if this option is created in some way.
Please forgive me if this is technically not possible.
I am new here

I'd say it's technically impossible, since we'd need 2 radios working at the sime time. It's like being able to switch between calls received on different SIMS.

I reset. I go 4g only. 2g only. It will work for a while and then just nothing.
Turning on wifi even when there is no wifi seems to help.
Anyone know a better method?

I have this problem too, I read yesterday about the newer UICC sim cards will help with this problem.
I have one coming, we will see what happens when it gets here.

Your really gonna hate this. My simcard was sent to me may 7th .
It is suppose to be the newest type.
Yes when I do get signal the speed increase is noticeable.
But it did not help the drops. Even when it shows a signal. It won't keep it.
I hate having to go in and do airplane mode all the time so I can get a signal and post to xda.

Use Set DNS from the market and wait for the official fix from LG/TMO.
Omg. I have this problem too. I told tmobile and they're replacing the phone. Does replacing the aim work though? Because i've tried that and I still can't get a steady signal.

I have the 3g version mz600...but I only ever use wifi... Can I flash any wifi only rom and it work?
I know I won't get data, but will work with wifi right?

I don't know the definite answer but I seem to remember that no it will not work.
If you're trying to avoid mobile data use though just leave it on airplane mode?
Sorry

Not trying to avoid it... I just don't have a mobile data plan setup... I bought it to use wifi only. A lot of the new roms will be 4G or wifi only is what I read.

Wifi rom will work.
Yea, wifi rom will work... but no data!

i have a 3g xoom and missed the 4g upgrade due to being overseas. all i use are wingray (wifi only) roms now cuz it makes no sense to have the 3g roms since they wont work anyway (and it gets rid of the radio signal cluster in the notifications panel).
so, yes, wifi only roms will work with your 3g xoom.
Ok so i'm having an issue, I use my phone to tether as my main internet connection. Before with my x2 i was able to turn off CDMA and use EVDO only. So text wouldn't cut off my tethering date. On this phone i'm in EVDO only mode but i still get text messages :/
I dont think i can get phone calls in evdo only but the text still mess up the internet. This is weird
This phone does data and you can use the phone at the same time. Not sure about it while tethering, shouldn't be a difference though.

I was under the impression that this feature only works while on 4g is that not the case?

Always works. Its a qualcomm SoC thing. Rezound and thunderbolt could as well. Kind of silly to jump to conclusions like that without actually seeing if it hurts anything. I've answered phone calls while playing black light online.

Its not really silly, with the x2 if you got a text or a phone call you lost internet. Everything i read said it was because of the verizon network. so i figured it was every phone. Just what i read and was told by people on here and verizon.
New to Verizon.. if I understand correctly you're saying this phone can do voice and data? Even on 3g ?
I thought Verizon's network couldn't do that. If the previous statement is correct then can we use the international dialers that have video built into them ?

I thought the same thing, But i guess that was silly of me to think....... lol Really though idk what samsung did with this phone but on 3g you can do data and voice at the same time. i'm kinda surprised. I know nothing about international dialers
Like I said, its a qualcomm SoC (system on chip) thing. What I'm saying is silly is that you already claimed the txt messages hurt your tethering.

I also came from ATT so this is a nice surprise for me.
as for the dialers, I know there are dialer apps out there (which generally come from non US phones) that have video calling features built into them, is there anyone watching this thread who could tell me if it would be possible to get one and make use of it? and would it require root to replace the dialer app? (I'm guessing it would)
thanks

Some networks sell a Tablet data package or sim .
jje
Good day.
So i purchased a htc one v from the virgin mobile network.
On opening the base compartment i discovered that there was no Sim card area exposed. Instead this version is enclosed with plastic.
I would assume that if i open the device with a screwdriver that there will be a Sim card area. however i'm not sure if it would be enabled.
Secondly, I'm not sure if the virgin mobile software would accept a Sim card.
So i want to know:
1. Will the slot be there and active if i open it?
2. Will it be possible to flash the phone to a different carrier?
Plz give me a detailed response with some sources. I wanna be sure of whether or not it is possible to use this as a gsm device
