[Q] DVR on Smart TV - any way of tricking HDD to record analog signal program? - General Questions and Answers

hi. i hope you can help me.
if i missed the topic, please re-direct me or move my topic.
i have LG smart tv, and Time Machine function on it. but as it turns out, that DVR can only record digital signal, and not analog. and we dont watch our digital tv (because it has only 10 programs in croatia), so we watch max tv program - trough our phone wire... device is connected to tv via HDMI.
is there any way to make HDD record everything, some software, or software tweak, crack of some sort? anything at all to record tv program?
thank you

Any Device that supports video out as a seperate display?

Hi,
I was just wondering if there is a device out there that does video out, but can display a seperate program on the video out port?
I.e Have GPS running on the main screen of the device, while the device outputs a media play on the video out port. Sorta like extended mode on desktop PC's.
I know some in car GPS systems do this, but im wondering if theres any hand held devices that do this.
Any device you guys know of?
Thanks!

Is there a way to use the HDMI out as an AV in?

Hi fellas,
I fly FPV and I wanted to use my Infuse to record the AV footage by splitting the video cable which goes to my monitor to my hdmi chord/dongle for the infuse.
The AV equipment has low resolution 640x480 if I'm lucky.
Would this idea work? There is no audio as my transmitter does not have a mic but If I could use a screen capture software on my phone to record my flights that would be fantastic. Is this possible? To use the HDMI dongle as an AV in to stream live video on my phone (assuming there is an app) basically using my phone as a DVR.
Thanks for any helpful response.
no but it would be cool to use a transmitter as reciever.... I mean if a PC needs a dedicated video capture device rather than the monitor-out going both ways then why would a cell phone be likely to work like that? if USB hosting gets figured out in the kernel and a USB video capture device was used the sure but the mhl is a 1 way device as far as anyone knows.
you may as well get a laptop and usb video capture card then copy the file to the phone.
Guess the laptop is as good as any it's a shame though
The transmitter that I was talking about is the transmitter on the aircraft transmitting the image which is being viewed on a monitor
I destroyed my gopro in a crash so I was looking for alternate solutions without having to buy anything as I am dirt poor
thanks a lot for your input

Stream (audio) from Smart TV to M8?

I'm curious to find out if it's possible to stream audio from my (networked) Sony Bravia KDL-32W650A to my M8. I'd like to be able to sync the audio so I can use headphones with the phone, so I don't disturb my wife and daughter while watching late at night. Using a direct headphone connection is out of the question, as I have a rather large K9 that likes to roam and trip over any wires running across the floor. Since I already have TV SideView and Smart Remote on my handset to control the TV, it would be nice to be able to stream the audio back to it.
Any suggestions?
On edit: It appears that this should be possible (mirroring) via Miracast, but appears that it may be broken in Sense 6.

I'm aware of that, but I want to stream in the other direction (just audio). I know Koush was/is working on integrating this into his AllCast app, but I think it only works with FireTV.

Is there a way to output HDMI to my phone, or to stream from a TV to my phone?

Hey everyone. I see tons of options for streaming the display from my phone to my tv, but what about the other way around?
In my situation, I am trying to get remote play working for my PS4 to my android phone, but am encountering issues getting a Dualshock 4 controller to work properly with my phone.
If I can't get this resolved, another option would be to get a playstation TV and attach it to my bedroom tv, but it's tiny, and also about 20 feet away from the bed. Not a great option for playing games. However, if I could use the PSTV and output to my phone, that would be awesome.
Is there something that either can clone the display/sound output of a TV, or even better, something that would allow my phone to directly act as a receiver of an HDMI signal from the PSTV?
Trying to google for options leaves me empty handed because most people are concerned with outputting their phone's display to their television, and I want to go in the opposite direction.
I have the very same question
I'm curious as to why I wouldn't 've able to directly stream what is on my tv to my phone. The PS3 has a controller that works through walls from 20+ ft away, all I want to do is be able to watch through my phone when I'm outside/ in another room.
I find it mind blowing that there isn't a single answer on Google after searching for hours.

Bluetooth A2DP: A Must Have Cell Phone Feature

I was playing a YouTube video on my LG V10 in the same room as my smart TV (which was on) an tapped an icon on top, of a TV with sound coming from the bottom left corner. My TV started playing the YouTube video on the tv screen. Video & Audio. Now if I can figure out how to make it work with TV & Movie downloads!

Umm... A2DP a protocol for stereo audio and control via Bluetooth...
I think what you meant was DLNA...
The tag that came up when it was playing said "BluetoothA2DP". I assume that means that someone has improved it in the 10 years it's been around.
In fact, I cannot find a single article anywhere about a Bluetooth profile for streaming video as it is such low bitrate. That's why aptX was such a big deal, it improved quality while lowering the bandwidth requirements, for audio.
As for the icon you describe, this is what it is for:
https://www.youtube.com/pair
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/3230451 (yes it says iOS, but it is the page for all devices.)
"If your TV or games console supports connecting over Wi-Fi, your device will be visible on the Connected TVs screen on your phone, tablet or computer. It isn't possible to remove devices connected over Wi-Fi from your Connected TVs list."
So you may have connected automatically with no manual setup.
