yeah, everything is fine. nexus 5 only has one speaker (on the left side), on the right side there is a microphone.

there is only a single speaker down there. the other is the microphone your phone is okay!

Thanks everyone

[Issue] short in left audio channel

Sometimes when i am listening to music the left channel will short out on my headphones. Going on and off.... would this be a software problem by any chance?

Are you sure your headphone cord isn't the problem by trying it in another source and swinging it around?
Sorry if this seems like an insulting question, just checking the easy answer.

The left speaker on the bottom is the mic, the right speaker is your actual speaker

[Q] Does your Nexus 5 play audio through one speaker?

Hi guys,
I realised this morning that the nexus 5 only plays audio through one of the two speakers on the bottom of the phone. The bottom left is used for audio and bottom right is redundant. I cannot spot the microphone anywhere so maybe the bottom right speaker is a microphone?
Can anybody clarify this or is my phone faulty?

You answered your own question...one is the mic, the other is the speaker...similar to the iPhone

Weird. You sure you record in quiet room and try speaking in low voice from time to time.

4.4.3 sound volume issue

Okay. So I've updated to 4.4.3 last week and have noticed that when playing music I can adjust the volume in Google play music. But after 1-2 songs it suddenly plays full blast on loud and I am unable to adjust the volume. Meaning adjusting does nothing. Continual full blast. Anyone have any suggestions to fix this? Thank you in advance.

Is anyone experiencing something similar or have any ideas for a solution? I reflashed the firmware...same result.

I have a volume issue as well. Sometimes when trying to adjust my ringer volume, it wont. I press the volume up or down buttons and nothing happens. A reboot fixes it though, but still annoying that it wont work when it should.
Just using the built in speaker or is it headphones? If headphones, are they bluetooth?

Did you use other players? I am using Gonemad Music Player and don't have this issue.

I only use the Google Play music app as I stream my music through that. I do not have any other music apps installed. Volume seems to work when playing games or youtube videos
Then try previous versions of Google Play Music. Maybe it's app bug.
I previously mentioned that I already tried that. Same issue.
