error flashing ftf files - Sony Xperia L

Friends i am new to flashing roms on sony mobiles and i am not able to flash the ftf file using flash tool.....:crying::crying:
This is what i have done:
0.Sony Official 4.2.2
1.Unlocked bootloader first time using sony official bootloader unlocking method
2.Got boot loop [sony's wave boot animation was looping]
3.So i flashed N-kernel from fast boot mode by which i got cwm working and then searched for CM based stable rom which can be flashed through CWM but none of them were stable
4.So i wiped data/cache from cwm and when clicked for reboot system ,it asked me for rooting the device , i clicked yes
5.Then i tried to flash stock rom using flash tool in linux but i got this error

When you say "which have both CWM & TWRP " I dont get the ides - WHen you flash only the kernel, how is CWM/TWRP showing up ? They are supposed to be residing in the Recovery partition, right ? We flash kernel into the System parition, isnt it ?
Suppose if "hotboot" the kernel without flashing it. Will I have access to CWM ?

Yes. It's possible to load a recovery during boot. We just have to patch a script/binary which gets executed during boot. For example /system/bin/charger or /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
But there are two problems with stock kernel :-
1. In 3.4 kernel for FWVGA devices, video driver (msm_fb.c), needs to be patched for fixing frame buffers. Otherwise graphics show up messed in recoveries.
2. There's also an issue of reserved fields which block cwm start-up. Though twrp boots fine but with graphic glitches due to 1.
So best I can do is to make twrp for locked BL. Though it'll be almost unusable due to graphic glitches.
I hope, you understand my problem here.

Cant you port from xperia z's recovery ?
I tried to install the twrp provided for Z on locked bootloader but not worked for our device. When I take a look on installation script, it pushes charger files to system/bin but our charger file is located on root folder. I dont have recovey so didn't tried to push Z's files on our device at correct location as i'm afraid of bootloop.
If porting of Z's recovery can't be done, please make twrp for our devices ignoring the graphic issues. atleast we will have the recovery.
and i would like to make you know if you don't that or device has CWM pre installed but with restrictions. so may be looking more into system files may make CWM possible
Thanks for taking me in consideration.
Best regards..

@hellspawn
Hi! You need to unlock your bootloader See it in the service menu, that it is allowed or not. If not, like me, you're not lucky -yet, if it says allowed, then there is a tutorial in the forum how to do this!

3. Click on the lightening icon in the upper left side first.
4. Select Flashmode and select firmware you want to flash incase you haven't put .FTF file in the Flashtool firmwares directory you can still browse it and select it from the dirctory which contains that file.

This firmware contains the all preinstalled apps which comes in the Original Stock JellyBean out of the box. And I have tweaked this firmware that way that Flashtool will probably not show any error while flashing. And the whole process will go smoothly. So basically this is the same firmware with the latest version. Cheers.

[Q] Can't use wifi, bluetooth and simcard on Xperia L

Appeared an update from sony for android 4.2.2, so I tried to update, but an error occurred. So I downloaded the .ftf and tried flashing through flashtools but another error occurred and the cell died. I changed the kernel, flashed the official rom via cwm, then returned the phone. However, it does not recognize the sim card, does not activate the wifi or bluetooth, and every time it is restarted, it seems that he restored himself, does not save the settings. I do not know what else to do, I've tried everything I've read many threads, I searched the forum and the web but could not find a solution. Can someone help me?
Thanks a lot!

What errors you get, phone is locked /unlocked, what firmware you try to flash with flashtool, what firmware you restore from cwm, what firmware you're use before that ,what kernel you use to flash, what is you phone (c2104/05)...?
Baseband from 4.1.2 not working with 4.2.2 firmware. This may be the problem with sim card.
All custom kernels with cwm needs to flash modules to get WiFi work, this may be the problem with the WiFi.
And for Bluetooth, it's maybe be from the bad flashes you've made.
P.s.- Are you sure that you got all needed drivers to flash with flashtool?

- Kernel_Vengeance_TaoShan
- ThunderZap-3.1-Ultra
- Extended_Stock_Kernel_v5
- Phantom v4.5
Now, I'm with the C2104_15.3.A.0.26_WORLD-A, that I flashed through CWM, but without simcard, bluetooth, wifi and FM.
Before the update, it was with the rom named v3_C_n_T_JB_4.1.2_15.0.A.2.17, but I can't find it again to put on device (I have the zip file, but don't have the fix for wifi and simcard).
I have the drivers for flashmode and fastboot mode, but... how can I see if is it correct?
Thanks again!

Sorry, but... what would be a "clean flash"? Like I said, I can't use flashtools to flash any rom, because it stops... :/

I guess now you're using 4.2.2 fw..using custom kernel..try ......
enter cwm
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvikcache
in mount and storage
format/system
than turn off
make sure you have ftf file to flash after that..

How about you reinstall flashtool?
And if you haven't isntalled ADB drivers make sure you install them. (if you have then, reinstall them)
Then redownload another FTF.
Now try flashing it via flashtool, check here for the tutorial
Hope it works out mate.

I reinstalled the drivers, updated the flashtools ('m with version 0.9.13.0) and downloaded another ftf (in this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340948 ) but the error still remains... :crying:
* The Baseband Version of my cell is "unknow"... Would I install only the baseband, to fix the wifi, radio and bluetooth? How can I do this? I tried to flash only the baseband through flashtools, but coudn't too, the flashtools hangs! =/

If flashtool hangs idk what other tools might help :/ sorry
so it seems you've got an error while updating?
By the way what type are you using like Xperia L C2014, or C2015? You may have installed the wrong ftf to create this problem, like flashing a C2015 ftf for C2104 :l

Install sony's official flashtool(it's called Emma). here's the link: http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/how-to-download-and-install-the-flash-tool/
When installed emma try again with the 'unofficial' flashtool(the one that hangs), it could still be a driver problem and the emma installation will reïnstall the correct drivers. If it still hangs try to flash with the emma program, sony has a tutorial(on the page i just provided you). Good luck!

Can I put the baseband's archives manually, like "copy and paste", with the Root Explorer? =) I could extract them from the ftf file, using flashtool, but I'm not sure about where I have to paste, and about the archive's permissions... Did someone think about this idea? =P
I have the following baseband's archives:

search how to flash ftf file and flash it using falshtool:good:

(for me) Flashtool is the best way to unlock/relock bootloader. its hassle free you dont need cmd promt.
heres the download link http://www.flashtool.net/download.php
if you still got bootloop, flash your device to to your stock FW/FTF
if you dont have your device back up
just search your stock FW in C2104 section here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/sony-xperia-l-flashable-ftfs-locked-t2560642
you should know your device model and build number..
NOTE: you need to root your device first in order to use Flashtool..
after flashing stock FTF reboot and wait.. it just takes time...
just hit thanks! hope it helps.. :good:

Flashing a stock ftf NEVER needs rooted device.
And you can still flash if it's in bootloop. Search in the general info thread and you'll find complete tutorials.
You can download your required stock ftf from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/sony-xperia-l-flashable-ftfs-locked-t2560642
and the guide for flashing is located at

Xperia XZ F8332 bricked after flashing of system.sin failed using flashtool

Hello, I just got my Xperia XZ F8332 CDA 1305-4972 R1D Singtel SG and I tried to flash a firmware from another region to get less bloatware and faster updates. I used flashtool and the process failed (flashing system.sin finished with errors) and the device was bricked after that. I used Xperia Companion's software repair tool and the device is working with its original firmware. I would like to know how to solve the system.sin flashing issue in order to install another firmware on my device. Thanks for your help.
I usually have this.
Make sure the firmware downloaded fully, and if it comes up just retry (Or different firmware)
Make sure you have all the drivers installed

I tried different firmwares and I'm still getting the same system.sin error. Drivers are correctly installed
What's the error anyway?

At the end of the flashing process it shows an error message processing of system.sin finished with errors and after that the device is bricked.

Seems like something wrong with Flashtool or the FTF. Are you using the latest version of the Flashtool? Make sure to run as administrator (just in case), also try with different FTF. It would be better for you to make your own FTF using the XperiFirm.

U are on locked or unlocked bootloader? If u are on unlocked try emma flash tool first, after that use andoxide flash tool, or relock bottloder first ,after that flash firmware you want. Good luck!
