since I've cracked the screen I was thinking about using it as a small server, I know that there are plenty of apps to run different kind of servers but I was wondering if there was something all in one with a web interface like freenas

I have no idea just stumbled upon this app and it said it was for the google phone and it looks to make it easier as far as root'n...... Jus gettn some ideas on the app.
unless I'm severely mistaken, that's midnight commander (mc):
http://www.ibiblio.org/mc/
or
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_Commander
It's a console program/shell run on a terminal emulator in that screenshot. You could in theory compile mc and run it on the terminal application for the G1 and have it look identically.
mc is more of a relic... you rarely hear about it these days. Tended to be popular amongst former Windows users back in the day.
with the 720p recording on this phone, im thinking it would make a kick ass webcam...is that even a possibility though?
Root your phone, get DroidVNC, forward your ports correctly on your router.
Start droidVNC (you gotta be on wifi), start your camera app.
Now login to your ip with the port, and enter the pin code in droidvnc setting, and bam, you see your phone's camera. heck u can even control your android now.

oh wow, my phone is rooted but i didnt know i could do this
I can't find the free version of Droid VNC Server on the market...

Hi! My phone fell and the screen broke, I've got touch functions, but they're pretty useless since I don't know what I'm tapping. Is there some sort of software that I can use to duplicate my display on my computer? It's a Galaxy SIII mini, running KitKat, if it makes any difference

Excelent, just what I was looking for, now I just have to see if I can get it to work
I've been playing with this one lately and it seems to work REALLY well.
Basically it's Firefox without all the garbage ......... and it's free !
I heard about it from a friend of mine and he was right on about it.
It is available from the Google Playstore.
Anyone hre try it also ?
Thoughts ?
No one else has tried it yet?

why not use Chrome Dev?
I wanted to try something that WASN'T tainted by Google.
They seem to be good at screwing up their O/S's everytime they bring out a new one.
This debloated version of Firefox seems to work really well and it's not Android.
It's nice to have options.

Hi
I just got my OnePlus 7 Pro and I've tried downloading some torrents.
On all my previous devices I could play the .MP4 file, for example, while it was still downloading, almost simulating a stream.
OnePlus 7 Pro on the other hand, simply doesn't work, can't play the file, as if it were corrupted.
Has anyone tried? Or explored this side?
Can someone help to fix this? Workaround or something ?
Please
Thank you.

It's dependant on the torrent client, you need to download in sequential order.

I tried with the app flud, for example, and I enabled sequential download and doesn't work still.
Plus on the other devices that isn't needed.
I use bit torrent and it works for me on my 7 pro.

this one worked inside the app itself, although it wouldn't let me use another one, like an external player.

How can it not? I can literally use another OLDER, CHEAPER android phone and it works.
So I do believe it has something to do with the phone OR android version Q.
Either way doesn't work, and it's something I do need at a lot for work.

Yeah, Torrents aren't illegal, and are very useful.
So idk what you're lol'ing about.
That's most likely what I will do... Instead of progress there's regress...
