Hi! My phone fell and the screen broke, I've got touch functions, but they're pretty useless since I don't know what I'm tapping. Is there some sort of software that I can use to duplicate my display on my computer? It's a Galaxy SIII mini, running KitKat, if it makes any difference

Hey guys,
I used to stream my iphone screen to my PC and was able to control it using keyboard and mouse. Is there a similar way to do this with the skyrocket? It makes it convenient here at work. Thanks!

Try this. It is what I used when my screen was broke. Make sure you have adb running, else it will not launch. Another thing is it is not working anymore on my particular ICS Rom. Should work fine on any GB rom, though. Hope this helps!
Here is the link to the google code page for this project. I take NO credit for this helpful app whatsoever. Devs and further info can be found here- http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
Note- It is a bit slower than your probably use to, but it is the only app I could find for our device.
^^ Thanks. Testing it now.
Our new app, VMLite VNC Server, should fulfill your needs, it does exactly what you need, to control android phones or devices from a PC, so you can use the external keyboard/mouse, etc. We app has fast responses, and works on rooted or non-rooted devices.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vmlite.vncserver&hl=en
so far our users like it. You can simply click a button to do USB connection:
more info here:
http://www.vmlite.com/vaac/#usb_connection
i use a program called MyPhoneExplorer and the corresponding Android app is in the store.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 AT&T and I also have a busted screen. I am trying to just pull my pictures off of it before my replacement arrives. I downloaded the SDK package you linked to but lack the knowledge to just get it to link to my phone via USB. To complicate matters I had it pattern locked but since I can't get the screen to work at all I can't unlock the phone. If I could my computer sees the phone as a portable device but won't show me any of it's files. Any pointers would be helpful.
Hmm
Well, I have a HDMI IN port in my rig . And with a MHL adapter, works perfectly fine on Windows 8.

I use an MHL adapter as well but will matter if the screen isn't functional? As far as I'm aware you still have to direct it via the touch screen....
yea..my bad..didn't read the question properly..

Does anyone know if there is a Video Screen Capture software for GS4? If tried some apps but they don't work......I heard Android 4.2.2 might be a problem.
I really need a screen cap software soon!
Thanks in adavance!
I believe there's remote control software that does it, but I would imagine they require root.

Thanks, of course I know they require root but I tried several ones and they all didn't worked even with rooted and insecure phone.
But finally I found one, seems to be pretty new SCR Screen Recorder, free mode has water mark and 3 min limitation, but thats fine:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iwobanas.screenrecorder.free
Thanks anyway! Puhhhhh I'm really happy that I finally found one......
You can also mirror to a PC and record it on your PC.
Me Gusta!
since I've cracked the screen I was thinking about using it as a small server, I know that there are plenty of apps to run different kind of servers but I was wondering if there was something all in one with a web interface like freenas

I've used this app Smart IR Remote on my phone to control different TV's, fans, A/C's without an issue.
Are you getting any error messages? Anything else we can use or know to help figure out your issue?

No errors & I just tried that and no luck. It's a Vizio TV which I'm testing on. I've tried on another Vizio TV and a Samsung one with no luck too. I know it works or at least worked on the Samsung TV but now it's not working at all on my Vizio TV and I doubt even the Samsung one. (havent tried samsung again yet) Also I put my S4 and M8 beside each other and tried using the same app to turn on my TV and where the M8 failed multiple times the S4 turned it on within half a second first try. I even took off my Otterbox case to try and see if it was somehow blocking it and it still wouldn't work. Could this be some sort of hardware problem or could it be software?

From what I've read, the IR port is the power button too. So make sure you are pointing that end at the tv. That Otterbox is quite bulky, so make sure the power button area flap is up while trying remotes out.
I don't think it would be a hardware issue if you are able to use the stock tv app to control the tv.
What ROM are you using?

I know and I did, still wouldn't work. I'm also having an issue getting 4G in areas where my friends can get it and their using Verizon too so maybe i have some type of firmware issue and I need to flash a stock RUU as suggested in my thread about that. I'll edit this or post again with the results whenever I try it.

Oops, I didn't see that you had a custom Rom. I'm guessing software issue now.
I'm also facing the same issue with Sprint m8, but my wife verizon m8 works with other apps too , I'm on stock ruu , not rooted, no s off , basically I'm on lollipop without any modification .

I keep accidently pressing the buttons while playing games or watching videos. Is there any way to disable them and use software buttons instead? I remember one of the roms I used on my S4 had this option.

The galaxy s7 has the game tool which allows you to disable those buttons when ingame, why don't you use that?
Good day.
I use an app to disable individual buttons that does not need root. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kunkunsoft.hardwaredisabler&hl=pt_PT.)
Also in my previous phone i used PIE to replace softkeys. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol&hl=pt-PT)
Hope it helped
That's the best way to ruin the phone usage experience. s7 has a Small screen already why you want to shrink it even more?

It's more the size of the actual handset. I can't use it one-handed, which is a pain at times.
Download samsung game tools it does exactly what you need
