[Q] Moto G, 3G on China Mobile? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if anyone has tried their Moto G in China, specifically with a China Mobile sim? Does it give 3G data or only Edge?
I'm interested because the press release for the MSM8x26 chipset indicated that it has support for the China Mobile 3G standard TD-SCDMA bands. What I don't know is if the Moto G has the radio hardware to support these bands.

Same question here.

Dual SIM Moto G that is compatible with T-mobile USA HSPA+ network?

Does anyone know the best place/price to get an unlocked version of the Moto G with Dual SIM capabilities? And do you know if there is anything else that is different about this model besides the dual SIM capabilities?

Hi,
I already saw the Moto G dual SIM version XT1033 available in the most popular online retailers, it's around US$250 and as far as I know there are not major differences between the single and dual SIM version.
Regards.

I'm fairly certain the XT1033 has the same band support as the XT1032, not the XT1034.
AWS support is not, to my knowledge, available in dualsim.

Hello,
I'm not completely sure about which frequencies the XT1033 handles for 3G. I only know that it works by using the HSDPA protocol. When you refers AWS, you mean Advanced Wireless Service? If yes, do you know if there's a difference between the protocols HSDPA and HSDPA+?
Thanks in advance

[Q] How to differentiate between Moto G US GSM and Global GSM?

Hello,
My sister lives in Canada and is on the wind network, which uses the AWS frequency. I found out that the Moto G US GSm version will be compatible with Wind Canada (since it supports AWS).
I wanted to buy this as a gift for her birthday so I ordered the 16GB US GSM Moto G from amazon usa and posted it to her via UPS. She got it today but is having difficulty setting up internet, I mean it is supposed to "just work" right?
So I fear that maybe amazon has sent me the Global GSM by mistake.
is there anyway I can identify the phone? I mean will the about section in settings be able to tell me if its US GSM or global GSM?
Thank you
You can tell by the model number:
XT1032 Global GSM
XT1034 US GSM (T-Mobile)
If she gets Wind Home coverage, calls and texts, she's got AWS HSPA signal and the right model. Getting the internet to work from there is probably just a matter of checking APN settings.

[Q] May I use US moto g in UK? Any resolution?

I have just moved in UK from US, and I have moto g 3G, 6 GB US GSM from amazon. I got a sim card of EE mobile and I am able to use only 2G data and to make and receive calls, texts as well. The service I bought is "pay as you go" and offers 2 GB of 4G data, I was told if my phone doesn't support 4G will run 3G but I have only 2G, on the connection bar it stays just E which is edge.
Is it possible to flash or root the phone to be able to use the 3G at least? Any ideas would high appreciable.
I think the us moto g uses different frequencies for 3g. It's not possible to make it work as the modem doesn't support the right frequency.

You must be right there is a modem inside and won't be compatible with the Europe frequencies band.
Thank you very much. Cheers.
There are two models sold in US. XT1032 Global GSM and XT1034 AWS. The latter will probably not work in UK. If you have the former, make sure you have correct APN settings. Tweakker may be of assistance.
I have a retail.US (XT1032) and i live in Ireland and i have no problem with data, calls or messaging whatsoever (I'm on tesco mobile) . It should work in UK i suppose.

Moto g lte compatibility

Was looking to buy the moto g 4g lte first gen. Was curious if this particular model can be used on any 3g network including asia and europe since it lists the bands 850/900/1700/1900/2100? Please advise.

[Q]Enable CDMA Bands 850/1900 on Moto G LTE??

I just bought an brand new unlocked GSM LTE Moto G (first gen) today. My thought at start was strictly for WiFi and FM Radio. But I stumbled on the Qualcomm SW mod using QPST and a few other apps for the regular Moto G HSPA+ version. So my question is does the LTE version have the CDMA radio present? I know the mod can't create a radio or connection to a network if the HW isn't there. I figure if it's based off the original Moto G (like the XT1028) it might have the hardware but be sw blocked. I checked the radio data and it's 2 different radios in both. But just wondering......If the Nexus 5 could do it with out "offical" CDMA bands maybe this Moto G LTE can too. I have Verizon Wireless and would like to use my Micro SIM card in this phone.
Ideas?

I'm interested in a similar thing for a U.S. Cellular Moto G LTE XT-1042 to see if I can enable the GSM radio bands on it. I know the Sprint Moto X has GSM capability which is partially used for the LTE coverage along with their mini-sim and since the US Cellular Moto G LTE XT-1042 also uses a mini-sim for the LTE coverage it stands to reason that it could work too using the Qualcomm SW mod.
I actually bought one off of Ebay with a Bad ESN that can't be activated on the US Cellular wireless network just to tinker around with. If it works I'll try to do a forum post pulling together all of the forum posts with information that I used to get it to work. If it doesn't work I got it for $48 dollars and can use it as a mini wifi only tablet for streaming music, playing games, etc.
Did it work?
???
