Moto g lte compatibility - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Was looking to buy the moto g 4g lte first gen. Was curious if this particular model can be used on any 3g network including asia and europe since it lists the bands 850/900/1700/1900/2100? Please advise.

Moto G LTE

Can anyone confirm that current Moto G 4G LTE sold here works in European countries?
The comparison chart of Moto G and Moto G 4G can be previewed here: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/4fa012ec47
By the chart the conclusion is that it can be used in EU, with the lack of LTE band coverage?
Their (Motorola's) agent isnt saying anything except that the chart is correct, however, they can only guarantee that it will work in US (since its US GSM version).
It would be great if anyone could confirm that he/she uses the device in EU and everything (with or without 4G/LTE) works.
Thank you.

[Q]Enable CDMA Bands 850/1900 on Moto G LTE??

I just bought an brand new unlocked GSM LTE Moto G (first gen) today. My thought at start was strictly for WiFi and FM Radio. But I stumbled on the Qualcomm SW mod using QPST and a few other apps for the regular Moto G HSPA+ version. So my question is does the LTE version have the CDMA radio present? I know the mod can't create a radio or connection to a network if the HW isn't there. I figure if it's based off the original Moto G (like the XT1028) it might have the hardware but be sw blocked. I checked the radio data and it's 2 different radios in both. But just wondering......If the Nexus 5 could do it with out "offical" CDMA bands maybe this Moto G LTE can too. I have Verizon Wireless and would like to use my Micro SIM card in this phone.
Ideas?

I'm interested in a similar thing for a U.S. Cellular Moto G LTE XT-1042 to see if I can enable the GSM radio bands on it. I know the Sprint Moto X has GSM capability which is partially used for the LTE coverage along with their mini-sim and since the US Cellular Moto G LTE XT-1042 also uses a mini-sim for the LTE coverage it stands to reason that it could work too using the Qualcomm SW mod.
I actually bought one off of Ebay with a Bad ESN that can't be activated on the US Cellular wireless network just to tinker around with. If it works I'll try to do a forum post pulling together all of the forum posts with information that I used to get it to work. If it doesn't work I got it for $48 dollars and can use it as a mini wifi only tablet for streaming music, playing games, etc.
Did it work?

Any advantage to LTE model on T-Mobile?

Simple question I think. I'm looking at getting a Moto G as a cheap phone for my Mother who is new to smartphones. I'm wondering is their any advantage for me to get the LTE version. It will be on the T-Mobile network.
From what I've read the LTE model supports the two primary bands (2 & 4) used by T-Mobile but not band 12 for the new network they are working on. I don't feel this is a big deal for her however. What is confusing me is the specs listed for the Moto G (2nd Gen) say it can reach speeds of 21/5Mbps and the same speeds on the LTE version. I'm starting to think the LTE version and the normal Moto G would end up on the same connection on the T-Mobile network but I'm not sure. I don't want to spend more for the LTE for no actual advantage.
Thanks.
@JayG30
You get the added Micro SD slot on the Moto G LTE unlike the standard Moto G. If your in the UK you can if you want to move over to EE which owns both T-Mobile and Orange (I myself am Ex-Orange Customer!) that way you'll get the 4G speeds. I did that on PAYGO Orange to EE and you can i think do the same on Contract not sure.

US Cellular Moto G LTE unlocked by default?

https://www.uscellular.com/site/legal/mobile-wireless-device-unlocking.html This seems to say that all US cellular 4G motorola phones come already unlocked. Is this correct?
I'm looking get a Moto G LTE xt1042 off ebay for use on Tello, who is a sprint MVNO. They say any CDMA unlocked or "sprint-ready" device will work.
It looks the Moto G LTE doesn't support Sprint's LTE bands 25, 26 so I guess I'll only have 3G (?).

Can't get 3G and 4G on my Moto X 2015

Hey everyone, I just bought Moto G 2015 as a backup device, and it really is a nice little device. After setting up the phone I noticed that it always stays on 2G and never goes to 3G or 4G, despite having ample cellular network strength in my area. I searched internet a bit and found that my phone, XT1548 is CDMA variant and lacks the necessary bands for connectivity in Asian markets.
So, I wanted to inquire if this can be changed by flashing modem files of Asian variant of Moto G, as I once did with my Moto X 2014, or this phone lacks the necessary hardware to connect to Asian networks.
I'd really appreciate your help.
Regards.

Nope... The XT1548 CDMA model is will not work in Asian markets, or any GSM market except basic GSM connectivity because of a hardware difference in that particular model that is intended only for use on CDMA networks, unlike your Moto X which uses the same hardware but different radio firmware.
