Hello,
I was wondering if i can get audio out thru usb post. I searched and see that franco.kernel can do it i guess on usb dac devices.
So i have these samsung infuse 4g desk dock and Motorola Atrix Standard Desk Dock. They both have 3.5mm audio out jacks thru out usb.
I tried both of these docks with stock and franco kernels but i couldnt get audio out..
Also I tried 'USB Audio Recorder Pro' application, but it didnt help me to get audio from usb too.
Does anyone try anything like this? or am i missing sth?
Any help will be appreciated

Can anyone running one of the Froyo leaks confirm if the audio out via the USB port works like it should? I'd like to know before I go buy a cable.
I currently have to plug both audio and usb cables in when I get in my car and I'm looking to cut it down to just the one.
TIA
no it does not and this is the 4th post about this lately, btw. try using the search feature.
I searched "audio, usb, froyo". There were 6 results but only 1 relevant, about it not working with the media dock on 11/11. Sorry the search function missed the others, but thanks anyways. Has anyone successfully gotten it to work, might be a better question.
unfortunatly, no. no one has. the official samsung desk dock uses the usb for audio out and its still not working there either.
So i updated my phone to the official Rogers 2.2, but i cant get the audio out to work still. Anyone know the reason for this?? Am i missing an option somewhere?
bump? am i the only one having this problem????
I am using cog 3.1 rom and the audio is working great for me in the car/home app. And the gps is almost spot on. Cant wait for the next upgrade in cognition roms. This guy is great!

Are you using the headphone jack? Or the mini USB?
You should be able to use a 1/8th to 1/8th cable to connect the headphone jack on your phone to the AUX port on a car stereo and get full audio regardless.

The dock blocks the audio port. The dock uses the USB audio out.

Might want to follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916233
Did you turn on audio out? Its the speaker icon within teh car/desk home apps (if theres a strike through, theres line out to the back 3.5mm port)
yes i finally figured out the audio out icon button. Only problem with it still, it doesn't work for phone calls! Ive only tried music and that worked fine.
I have an infuse dock, hoping to be able to connect one cable in car for charging/audio. when i plunk my ns4g (using codename 3.6) into it, it seems to know it is in a dock, brings up the alarm clock app, but sound comes out of phone speaker, not headphones attached to dock. i also have an epic 4g tough that does the same thing on cm10. Is this a hardware issue, kernel issue, etc? Is it even possible with an NS4G?
Could someone confirm that the NS4G doesn't have the right hardware to provide analog audio out through USB? WOUld love to just forget about this, but until I get confirmation it's driving me nuts. nOt looking for USB DAC, just would prefer to have only one cable for charging and audio out, or to use my infuse docks.
It doesn't as far as I'm aware. I'm wondering though if it's an app thing or really a hardware thing.
Does anyone know how to get the audio for phone calls to go through the car speakers using the iBolt car dock?
The audio for everything except phone calls goes though the usb connection to the aux port in my car and works beautifully, but when I make/receive a phone call, it changes to speakerphone.
I know I could run another wire from the headphone jack, but that seems silly when all the other audio goes through the USB connection just fine.
Currently I am rooted and running the latest JB leak for my Verizon GS3, but I had the same problem on stock ICS as well.
I tried the app called "Setting Profiles", but I could not get that to help any. I also tried manually turning off the speakerphone, but then I heard nothing.
Thanks for the help!
Nino
Silly samsung did not implement phone calls through micro usb. Idk why they would allow audio out theough micro usb but not calls. I've tried over 5 roms to see if any work, sadly non do.

I have my S3 on stock software. Bought this pioneer deck that says its android compatible. Could use the headphone aux in but wanted to use the USB audio. Is there something I'm missing. I put the phone in "media mode" and the deck says na USB audio when I connect it.. so its recognized but when I play something on the phone it just plays through the phone speakers. I'm new to this integration. Searched the forum with no avail. Any help greatly appreciated.

Most decks are "android compatible" by either reading the phone as a usb device or by bluetooth. Since the S3 doesn't present itself as a usb storage device, it won't work via usb. The only ways to connect it is either through aux cable or bluetooth connection. Btw have the same deck as you lol
Ha thanks for the reply. Aux it is since no Bluetooth on it. I bet you like those colors don't you.

Haha, yeah the colors look sick. If you want to have a bluetooth connection, you can do a round about way. If you want a kind of iphone/ipod touch experience (changing songs/volume from the phone) with the S3, get a bluetooth adapter such as the auris. You connect the bluetooth adapter to the iphone cable and then just sync up the bluetooth to the phone. Bluetooth 4.0 aptx quality supposedly equivalent to usb.
