K2u_4.2.2 stock / tool for root - HTC One SV

After searching I found and tried this tool, requires S-OFF.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1870652 ..... my phone rooted, (just hit -"Root Device").
I'm on stock 4.2.2 stock recovery etc, I have flashes the xpirt's Stock Modded Kernel.
This worked for me K2u (possibly for the other versions), try at your own risk.

Nice tool. Though, I would prefer to flash supersu manually vice something like this. This way I am fully aware of what is taking place, but this is my personal preference.
However, this is a nice find so thank you for sharing it here.

Not sure if you've noticed here in the forums but, custom recoverys aren't paying nice with guys that have updated to 4.2.2
Some of them had an updated Hboot inside their OTA.
This is why he has posted this I'm sure.
Just so your on the same page.

Ah, was unaware of this issue. Thanks for updating me.

Your welcome sir.

Yes, should be downgrade from hboot 2.21 to hboot 2.0 to be able to flash recovery
and do not want that.

Hmmm, now that you mention it, I do recall see @old.splatterhand giving a warning about him having to downgrade the hboot.... Sorry, don't have 4.2.2 yet, but I wonder once custom recovery is flashed if going back to 2.21 is safe? Personally, I wouldn't know at this time.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but in order to root this phone you need to flash an already rooted ROM, you must use the nvflash link that was provided for you no matter what, and then once CWM is flashed, flash a ROM.
Hope this helped!

Ding ding we have a winner. Nvflash cwm recovery then install rom. All the roms you will find here unless it specifically says for warranty purpose are rooted. Super one click hasn't worked since froyo

Super one click doesn't put cwm recovery on the phone if you want rooted stock kwes has one pre made flash through cwm easy as pie guys. I dont understand why you would want your phone rooted with no recovery installed. Just makes it harder to fix if you mess up

What to do... what to do...

I did not make a nandroid of my stock system (30 lashes with my own strap). Consequently I've been looking for the stock firmware to download. It is apparently only available through hotfile.com and I can't complete a download (been trying all day). Does anyone have stock jellybean for the gt-p5113 that can pm me to make arrangements to share through dropbox or something.
Thanks
Edit: I'm in the USA so I need what seems to be the general version.

Bro its not necessary that you flash original firmware!!!
Go to development section and download a Rom say ripper Rom.
Its good and flash it via cwm recovery!!!
And if you do not have recovery installed than install it.that will take 5 minutes at max
Enjoy.

I realize this is kinda ocd but I'm really upset that I didn't make a nandroid before I flashed cm10.1. Consequently, if I ever need to return my tablet to Samsung I can't revert it to stock. I'm just trying to get a working copy of the firmware (jellybean for gt -p5113 USA version) to have on hand. I'd like to try other roms but I want the ability to revert to stock first.

Bro first flash any Rom,you can download that as file hosting sites for them are good.so you get your device working.
And later when you get stock firmware via hotfile just simply flash that.

Thanks it's working fine with CM 10.1. I'm just being a little crazy about not having the backup and trying all day without getting a download. I suppose it will eventually download if I keep trying. Sorry for the bother. ( and I'm not a bro I'm a grandma LOL)

No reason to start 2 threads on the same topic. Mods will most likely close one of them. Hotfile is as good as it gets. I suggest you check your internet connection. Downloading by phone is not the best way. And if you use a pc then make sure your computer does not go to sleep before the download is finished. Almost all the files in the links I gave are US. Cellular South is Mississippi. Not sure what the XAC region code is.

Remove Custom Padlock

So, folks. I am pretty new to the community, and would like to start trying to contribute some useful information. :good:
Pretty straightforward... The way I managed to remove my custom padlock on my device was to flash a modem after I flashed my ROM and kernel. Upon rebooting, I would no longer have the padlock. Has worked for me dozens of times. (With touch-wiz based roms)
If every one else finds that this will not work for them, let me know, and I will gladly remove the post.
Pad Lock Gone After Flashing Modem- Using:
OUDHS Recovery 1.0.3.4 Here
Ktoonsez Kernel Here
Modems Here: Click ME
Thanks I didn't know about this method I've been using triangle away which usually involved many steps including editing my buildprop so it can read my actual model.
This way looks much faster.
Didn't work for me.

This procedure above works some of the time not all the time...quickest would be have a original stock rom backup...restore it run triangle away..done...flash or restore back to whatever.
This method did not work for me on MDL and will not work on the OTA update of MF3.

My understanding is that it's good if you needed warranty repair. Other than that, it doesn't mean anything. Folks, anyone back me up or refute this?
.
Triangle away is really just to clear/reset your binary counter to 0.it will also remove the padlock in some instances.

Flashing 4.4.2 without the new bootloader

I want to upgrade my N8000 to stock 4.4.2. I read that by doing that I will loose the option to go backwards if I will want. So, there is an option to flash new firmware with the ability to go back completely?

Yes you can root your tablet and install mobile odin app and flash 4.4.2 rom with mobile odin in this way you will be able to upgrade without bootloader update.
I'm already rooted. I just want to test official 4.4.2 and then decide if it suits my needs better then jb.
Is there any guide how to do it right using mobile Odin? I don't want to get hard brick.

Any stock-based 4.4.2 will require the new bootloader, and once you flash it, you can't fall back to the previous bootloader. But I don't think it's a big problem - 4.4.2 works fine on N8000, and there are some even better alternative ROMs such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762418
And what about KNOX?
Does the stock KK for N8010 come with KNOX, and if so, is it possible to flash it without KNOX, or to remove/disable KNOX afterwards? Thanks.
And how to remove bloat ware apps before flashing the new kit Kat ROM?

Can't reboot into recovery....

So where do I start... Vzw m8 4.4.4. Firmware, k.... Now I'm running latest multiboot compatible twrp. I am booted in to my main Rom... Viperone 2.5. I was running viper 3.1 on Thursday, but my phone was static-y on the other caller end. So I went to twrp, reinstalled a backup of my 2.5 and good. Well after I did that I wanted to get rid of Red Text on splash screen so I grabbed the latest of that and flashed via hboot. Done. Then... I wanted a custom splash, so I tried to flash an old 4.4.3 version of a splash and I guess that screwed things up, even though it said failed.which I figured . Fine. But now I can't get back to recovery. I tried to reflash multiboot version twrp, then latest regular tarp, then clockwork mod, and back again to tarp. And no go. So..... Any ideas anyone? Is there anyways to ruu without having to do all thousand steps through adb and such. My adv ain't working on my computer currently for some reason.....
