Hello all! First thread here woohoo)
Let's get to business.
I solved the Nexus 5 quiet speaker sound problem by using the loudMOD + viper4android.
The problem is, that if I am using any music player -> sound is loud and fine, because the viper4android EQ preset is used.
But, if you try to listen for the same sound via Sound->Ringtones menu or if somebody calls you -> it's loud but frequencies are all messed up and it sounds awful ;'(
You can try to reproduce it by using any decent rock song
Can someone help?
Thank you!
P.s sorry for my english, not my native language)

Okay guys, hello to all!
I have the same problem as SergeyBE told here:2-3 month ago I got installed "IncreaseVol.cab", it's was better sound during the call, but twoo weeks ago it's beginning rattling and noising. Now I can hear just durring the call just if I push the button "Speaker", if I play mp3, it's sounds like it have to be.
So my speaker (which one when I listening to someone during the call) so it blowed up Yeah, there is noise and really bad bad sound But that speaker which is for when phone is ringing or listening to the music works fine after the boost! Now my phone is repairing but I want to increase a ring volume and volume when listening to the music (or watching video) without increasing volume parametres for the speaker which is working during the call!
So can anyone help me here? Does anybody here have original audiopara3 file with increased only Ring volume and Multimedia volume? or can somebody here make it for me? thanks a lot in advance
So I've been looking for something to boost the volume in my bluetooth headphones. i tried DST mananger and that didn't touch it. is there something else i can do to fix this issue??

If you're using Gingerbread, Volume+ can give bluetooth sound a serious boost.
You can purchase it from the android market here:
market.android.com/details?id=com.TEST.android.lvh&hl=en
Or install it manually for free from here (at least for now):
androidaudiohacks.com/home/
I've never had problems with music over bluetooth, but videos tend to be a lot quieter. Watching TV on a noisy train was very difficult before I got this app, but now I can hear it loud and clear.
P.S. Excuse the unlinked URLs above. I'm too much of a noob to post links apparently. Just add http

it's fine.. and do u mean the original uhpdate from at&t or a rom using gingerbread?
Bluetooth volume boost?
I have a Samsung Captivate that runs on Firefly 3.0 froyo rom. The problem is that the audio of music and most importantly videos are not loud enough. Voodoo control plus does a great job of increasing the volume for wired headset. But I use bluetooth headset to listen to music and watch movies. I can hardly hear the audio in noisy environments.
Can someone suggest some app or fix or mod to increase volume in bluetooth headset?
I came to know that volume+ app for gingerbread does this job. Any similar app for froyo? or Voodoo control plus can actually help with BT headset volume boost?
Hey, when i hear music over in ear headphones, then it is pretty quiet.
My old LG was much louder with the same mp3 files.
Only when i use the build-in speaker, then it is loud enough.
Somewhere i read that that is limited by the EU to prevent hearing damage.
But that doesn't help me, because all my MP3's are almost same db level (mp3 gain).
Is there a way to get it louder? Ofc. does my phone has root.

Try using this app from the play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.omegacentauri.SpeakerBoost&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm1vYmkub21lZ2FjZW50YXVyaS5TcGVha2VyQm9vc3QiXQ..) It seemed to work for me on my Galaxy Y. I'm not sure about any other phones, I haven't even tried it on my Miro.

As I told someone else , Do what i did, find the app called earpiece in the play store. After you install it, open up a music player, play a song, crank up the volume and open earpiece app. Next.thick the audio trough earpiece box and see what happens. You should hear a huge difference and the sound isn't distorted. If nothing changes just click and un click it a few times untill you hear a difference. And also if that's not enough you can also thick the volume boost box but that, as far as I can tell makes your treble stronger and leaves out the bass. Anyways just try it and I can promise your volume will improve.
Btw this works great with the headphones, I haven't tried it on the speaker phone. So just try it out and tell me if it works
Well i've tested gamer649's app until now. And it doesn't work for me. I cant hear any changes, even with 100% loudness.
Earpiece also not worked for me. It only worked with the built-in speakers, but there was no change on the headphone loudness

Regarding the earpiece app, did you remember to click on the " Audio Trough earpiece"?
Try it and if you don't hear any changes try it again a few more times. Sometimes it takes a little while until the app changes the volume( even dough in my case it starts right of ).

Well, of course that works. It can change the loudness of the speaker on the back and from the front, but has no effect on the headphones. They still have the same loudness even when i pull it up to the max ...
You can always try custom ROM like me - CM10 works fine on J, minus few minor bugs. It's pretty loud and the equalizer is just some nice stuff. :good:
Hmm yeah, would be an idea.
But before i try that, i want to try to get it work. I've also written sony an e-mail, and they said, that they had to limit the loudness because of an EU law
we've already tried fixing the loudness in the stock firmware itself but it didn't work... no im on CM10 and enjoying the music !!!
Hi,
I'm not sure if I'm the only one with that issue but when I turn on equalizer, i got breath (IDK if that's the right word in english, it's "du souffle" in french, a "shhhhh" sound) at each blank in a song.
No problem at all when equalizer is off.
I tried several earphone, in-earphone and headphone but nothing change. I tried other music player instead of Google play music, same issue if equalizer is on.
I'm on stock and rooted, anyway to get that breath off with equalizer ?
Thanks.
Hiss?
Does the Same happen when eq is set flat?

Have you played around with the EQ settings? It might be specifically Bass Boost or Surround Sound which is causing it. For the record, there is no audible hiss when using EQ for me.
I think that it's hiss.
No hiss when EQ set at Flat, i'm not using Bass boost or surround.
It seems to be linked to 14kHz frequency. I got the same hiss with the n7 2013 when i play with the 14 kHz frequency.
No issue with my Cowon J3. Weird, so i won't use this frequency.
Thanks to all anyway.
Edit : Hiss even with EQ off at very low volume (so i will increase it because it tends to disappear at higher volume, EQ just accentuate the effect at low volume) on both N5 and N7. Bad thing from coming from a great MP3 player such as the J3 lol.
Thanks anyway
The Nexus 5 isn't the greatest audio player ever in terms of quality but there are things you can flash to make it louder. I believe there is even a ROM built by audiophiles.

Normally, if you have a problem with a mod, rom or watever on xda the right thing is to head to it's thread, or the thread you got it from and complain there, you have a better chance of fixing it that way... As someone else there might have had the same problem or better still i fix might have been posted.
Regardless, even tho i havn't tried this mod, i have read in the thread that the said v6.0 has issues as u described and recommendation is people should flash back v5.5 as it was better. Even the OP of the said thread said he will fix in the next update.
Go to the thread here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development/stereo-speakers-sound-mod-v3-2-z323-0-1-t3015912) and follow up on the discussion. Read the last few pages. Goodluck
As far as I've been reading, it's a common problem on most devices for the crackling on the top speaker when loud, it happened on my first z3, so far it hasn't happened on my current one, I'll test later and see if it does happen and I simply haven't noticed.
Only way I've found to stop it would be to lower the volume. Or if you can somehow get an equalizer app that works system wide, lowering the bass may help.
