Impossible to end current call and answer incoming one ? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys!
I'm looking for a way to "hang up and answer" when I receive a call but already on another one...
(I found that thread in Nexus 4 forums talking about the issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2104668)
I think it is a weird thing Android does not support that. My last phone was a Sony Xperia Z and the Sony firmware included that option. Unfortunately, phone was poorly designed and not rootable (bootloader locked by carrier) so I pulled the tigger on Nexus 5 and would be delighted to see that feature coming back.
I would be willing to pay for an app also. if you're aware of one that would solve my problem on Android 4.4 (kitkat)
Thanks.

Check this video, at mark 1:16.
You will see Sony Xperia has the option "End current call and answer"
It's what I would like.
Event the Samsung Galaxy Mega has it
Both videos come from ATT

[Q] Please answer please

Hi xda developers , I am pleased to be here
I have only one question and hope to get an answer for it
you know the Samsung Galaxy S4 came with new Smart features like Smart Scroll , pause , etc ...
is these features related to the S4 hardware itself , or just something is concerning with it's software?
if that related to it's Hardware , so no way to port that to another android device like S3
but if that related the the Software , so all android devices will get the smart features which is the S4
the S4 android version is 4.2.2 as you know , and S3 has now 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 , so the software is the same
so why the smart features is not working on S3? I know the 4.2.2 is just leak for S3 and not official but at least has the same features of S4 except the smart features
the second thing is if tat related to the S4 front camera and the proximity sensor , so it must work on S3 because S3 has the two things
I sow in android 4.2.1 which on the Samsung update site GT-I9300 ILO I9300XXUFMB3 after I flashed it on my S3 when I long press the smart stay icon I get 4 features :smart scroll , pause stay and rotation
but scroll and pause is not working , why that?
and I found a custom rom in this nice site called "Glamour S4" with all S4 features , but just icons and text , not working.
so is that features will not work in S3 or what? because if it will not work , I will buy S4 , but if it will work, then when that and with custom rom or official ?
please help me because I am from long time ago I am searching for that
by the way!
some developers in Israel name" Umoove" talked about Eye Tracking technology and I watched a video which shows the eye tracking seems to smart scroll working on s3
and some other teal developed same technology called "TheEyeTribe" but nothing is out yet
so please answer me if it will run on S3 or it is not available now?
thank you
your post makes me think youre in the wrong forum. do you have a verizon S3 or an international version?
OK your post is confusing as you don't specify if you have the international S3 or the US version. All those features are for the S4 and possibly the note 3 so they won't work on any version of the S3 without a third-party app.
Well he's on the international s3 cuz he flashed the 4.2.1 ROM from Samsung and obviously didn't brick.
This is the wrong forum, but to answer your question, yes that is mostly hardware limitations.

[Q] Some questions on the Galaxy SII Plus

241871833
Hi all,
Sorry if this isn't the thread to post to, but I came accross this thread and feels like this is the place to post any SII Plus questions, correct if I'm doing something wrong.
I just bought a Samsung GS II Plus. Opinions, was it a good buy? I bought it for €179,99, as my budget was a bit tight. But there are several quad core available right now, especially the Wiko, which seem really nice.
I decided based on screen size (5" just feels huge!) and internal storage space (8Gb, 4 available to the user, which is quite disappointing). And of course, the price, which seemed like a good one, altough the specs aren't the most recent ones.
After buying it, used with Android ver 4.1.2 for a whole day and upgraded it to 4.2.2 as it was available.
Q1: What happened to the bubble lockscreen notifications with this update? They were replaced by a new kind of notifications that have absolutely no functionality at all.
Q2: Is it possible to have the bubble notifications back?
Q3: Will a Kitkat release be available to this phone?
Any answers you might provide are welcome.
TIA

You can change the lockscreen effect from the settings About the kitkat-you can try some custom roms bcoz i'm not really sure that we will receive official Kitkat
It's not the effect, but the notifications for unread SMS ans missed calls.

There are now many posts on the front page of this forum about this apparently being the case. (Just if you missed it)

request from developers" using android to perform a smartwatch task."

Hello experts.
i have a phablet " galaxy note 8" and another xperia p android
i have a problem
when i walk down the street and i get a call , i have to get the tablet out of my back bag , open the cover , and discover that it is an unwanted call.
and smart watches are ridiculously expensive.
im looking for an app that makes when i get a call on the tablet to see who is calling through the xperia phone ,just like a smartwatch , i think it is doable.
all i need is to see who is calling on the tablet through somthing that easly reachable.
and please do not refer me to any tablet talk or something that connects a tablet to a phone because it doesnt make it the other way around
i want to use the phone to make me see who is calling on my phablet " the phone here is the one that is being used as a smartwatch"
SMSreader is an app that can announce who is calling. If you don't want that then invest in a case with a window and magnet. The phone will display the information in the window without opening it. Otherwise you'll have to find another solution. That or have your calls forwarded to the smaller of your phones

Huawei Watch: any user? "Lost Pairing" bug when using audio?

Hi guys.
I have an "old" Z5 Premium Dual and I'm affected by the "lost pairing" bug when using audio on my Huawei Watch.
I'm looking forward to check new Xperia's to know if they're affected by this bug because in this case I'll look to another phone to replace mine when it will die (it's one and a half year old with some issues and repairs). But it's hard to find infos. Can you help me?
Thanks to everybody!
I haven't had that bug on any of these builds on the xz but this bug is a common bug on n5x roms from a couple months ago, used to drive me crazy always repairing.
Yes, it happens on this phone, or at least on my XZ Dual version. But it also happens on other phone *and* watch brands, and as far as I can tell is a Google bug, not a phone / watch manufacturer bug.
After 2.0 Wear update no more issues! Works perfectly!

HOW TO USE SAMSUNG CONTACTS APP ON SONY XPERIA

Hi All,
I am keen to know, can I use the contacts app from Samsung kitkat 4 on my Sony Xperia x compact?
The app was on my Samsung Galaxy s5 mini.
Apparently it's made by snap.inc.
CONTACTS BY SNAP.INC 2.2.22
The reason I like the app is because of the call log I use it for my work
Can someone help me get this app working on my Xperia running oreo 8.0
thanks

Isn't it easier to find another contacts app which is running natively on your current device and had a similar call log feature?
Maybe it is no longer located in the contacts app but in the diaper app.
My father who is 71 has been using the Samsung for years had to upgrade his phone. I wanted to use the apps he was familiar with. He cannot use Samsung any more because he wants to put the phone is his pocket and the screens are too big. He has 2 phones a work phone and a personal phone.
2 phones in one pocket. Old man hard to learn new things
