I am wondering if there is any planned development for the recently released updated Transformer. I am currently looking at getting one but I would like to know that there will be updated ROMs that will be released for it. I noticed it doesn't seem to have its own forum yet. Does anyone know if it is likely to be supported in the future by ROMs like CyanogenMod? Or will it be one of the unlucky unpopular tablets that doesn't get any custom ROMs? Like the galaxy Note 10.1

I'm a noob to this so if I come off sounding ignorant please forgive. It looks as though the G Tab may be coming to an end of life from Viewsonic. I'm looking to purchase one and am wondering something. It looks like the custom ROMs all come from people changing ROMs from other devices that use the Tegra-2 chipset. Is that the most common factor? I mean, there are a TON of new tablets coming that use the Tegra-2. Would it be possible that some of these new devices will have their ROMs ported to the G-Tab? I know we will not "know" until these new devices arrive, but can someone with more experience making custom ROMs than me chime in on it?
thanks.
I heard that android 4 has been released, anyone knows if we can update our devices? (and how?)
we will be able to upgrade, given 2 scenarios: htc makes an official update - wouldn't count on it, at least not if you not intend to be 150 years old; someone ports the software from a nexus. most probably you'll see it as CM8. but first google needs to release it, so far only some googlers have access to it, but at least it works on nexus s phones already, hence i gve cyanogenmod the best chances to come up with it first

No, not yet. There are currently no ROMs available out in the open with ICS. The first one to come out will be on the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Here, Read this.
CM8 was for honeycomb but that was only for tablets and apparently not released by google. Ive read that ICS will be released and will be ported and released as CM9.
Unknown I guess is whether there will be a stable release for desire s...

I would like to know as well.
Or is it possible to flash in any unofficial JB?
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the JB update has little-to-nothing to do with Sprint, but rather, Motorola itself. At the very least, I don't think that the update has any interaction with Sprint at the current time, since as far as I can tell, Motorola still has to finish building the JB software for their phone, and make sure that it doesn't break anything. It also doesn't help that they have at least two other devices (RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD) that they have declared will get the Android 4.1 update before 2013, so obviously they'll be focusing on these two devices first and foremost.
Information on Motorola's update schedule can be found here.
As for unofficial JB ROMs, you can always keep an eye on the two Android Development subforums for the Photon Q (Android Development and Original Android Development) to see what kinds of mods, ROMs, etc. have been developed and released. I have yet to see anything particularly stable, and I myself am still running the most recent official build of Android 4.0.4 that Moto released not too long ago. Anything beyond that is definitively use-at-your-own risk, as I have yet to find any ROMs that are even in Beta, much less have a stable release.

Hey guys, I know it hasn't shipped out yet but I am thinking about getting the Samsung Galaxy s4 on Verizon and am wondering if anyone knows whether or not there will be an AOSP ROM for it. I currently have the Galaxy Nexus, and before that i had the first Droid so Touchwiz scares me! I have read a lot about there being so many different versions that the custom ROMs for this device might be lacking and now with the pure android version being released by Google it makes me even more worried that the Verizon folks are going to get left out of the pure Android experience on the Galaxy S4 - if that is the case I might have to pony up for the Note 2.
Even if its speculation I would love to hear your thoughts and I apologize if this has been addressed (I searched, I swear) or if I'm putting this in the wrong section
Hi, I'm on a Galaxy Nexus but planning to move to the Moto G. I already asked here some time ago if it was worth changing and I was convinced. Now, after a couple months since it was released I'm wondering why isn't there any custom rom yet for this awesome device. Is it just a matter of time? Locked bootloader/kernel/lack of AOSP sources or something like that (I've got very little knowledge of this xD) that prevents developers from creating new ROMS?. Lack of developers? Lack of CM/PA/other teams support? Am I just an idiot that doesn't know how to look for stuff in the forum? :silly:
I really want to move to this device but I love all the extra features my Gnex has. I don't expect to have all features right away when the phone is released, I know things take time. But I just want to be sure that there isn't any problem for developers to do their job and in a (near) future custom ROMs will come out.
hello and welcome to this forum first of all .

Oh thanks, that's what I wanted to know, that sources were released yesterday. I don't mind waiting (especially now I don't even have the phone), I just wanted to know that there were no problem regarding sources or stuff like that. My brother has a Motorola RAZR maxx and there were some problems so I wanted to make sure Motorola has changed in this field after Google purchase.
