What is OmniROM?
A new Android custom rom has been announced at the BABBQ (Big Android BBQ) by @XpLoDWilD, @Chainfire, @Dees_Troy & Team. For more information go to omni rom's site: http://omnirom.org/
This is Unofficial build compiled by me! I'll try to do daily releases until Omni team releases stable official builds! Also I have began compiling the ROM's with the latest Linaro 4.7 toolchain and -O3 flags with Bulletproof kernel. Thanks to @scrosler, @jakdillard, @DJLamontagneIII for all of the information and tips on building ROMs and @flar2 for letting me use his kernel.
If you are looking for deb version go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49472196
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* cyber warfare, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device. I will just laugh nefariously
* in your face! And if you dont like this rom, stay away from this thread!

I flashed this when I upgraded to 4.4 Stock...do not know if its necessary but I would recommend it...

Wow. Looks GREAT!!! SUPER EXCITED. You might want to swap the flashing procedure as it is vice versa.

Do you have a github link? Specifically to a repo for proprietaries with the new kitkat blobs.

With regards to proprietaries I used the ones posted on Google's site https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/drivers#razorkrt16o and used all OmniRom sources on Github.

Yeah dre1187.. It happens. I appreciate all your doing for the Android Community!

Thanks!! With regards to multi-windows once it gets added to Omni's source or rather they re-commit it then it will be there. I am trying to keep it as close to source as possible until they release an official version. For now I will only change things if they are broken.

I tried getting DSP to FC but I havent been able to...not really sure what the issue is but will continue to test.
I was able to get AOSP browser to FC when setting to the template to 2010. I tried out @scrosler AOSP browser and his does the same, after looking at a logcat it has to do with how the page renders checkboxes...not really sure how to fix it :/ I know it works on Chrome if that is helpful.

This workday can't be over with soon enough so I can run home and flash this! Thanks for the work!

Switched to ART and this thing is super fast.

I come from 4.4 stock. For omni on mako I had to flash old modem. Is here something like that to do?

Will the keyboard bug be ever fixed?
Installed and running beautifully. Andi, I will test only Omni builds from now on, too much hassle to switch a couple a times per day between Omni, Mokee and CM11...

Great Work
First off I wanna say that you are just awesome Andi. You are there in EVERY thread. We all really appreciate your work.
I want to give kitkat a try but dont want to flash it over my current one due to data loss scares I had with titanium. So is this rom working with dual boot Black hawk kernel.???
Great work as always.

Ketut's Next kernel will not work with this. I tried that before with early mokee build.
Titanium Backup does work in Kitkat, but only the latest two builds.

Yup stock fexus mod 4.2.2. It's great especially with oc next kernel and multiwindow mod.
Did you try ART in the other 4.4 roms?? How much difference does it make??

Kernel of this rom can be OC by default ( must go to Settings/ About and tapped 10 times on build to enable Developer mode (Settings + Performance).
I run everything in art (so far Omni, Mokee and also Cm11).
It does take a long time to boot, because the part, which was previously kept in dalvik is compiled to machine code, so it consumes a little bit more memory, but runs much, much faster. Nothing else but good experience with it.
If you are afraid because of the keyboard bug, you might try Mokee, it is very good.
The best would be to first flash twrp recovery and to make a complete backup of all 6 partitions on external sd card. Once you have it, the funny part starts (you can always go back with complete restore)
You will see: Once you try Kitkat, you won't go back!

Might be the new libaudio...
Hope to get this fixed soon, or we'd have to be reverting to older libaudio
I've got a report that a clean flash solves the "call audio" problem.
Proof:
Rom as it's beta 1....quite good... many small bugs to go as even mentioned in post #1...
Good progress bro I'm dam sure u will provide us the BEST experience in our Pico... ur omni rom is also doing quite good... keep it up bro :beer: @thewisenerd

This should fix the "user at other end not able to hear your voice properly" bug
If it doesn't work, reboot once?
p.s. This *should* be flashable on all of my kitkat ROMs, but I need testers for them all.

the icons of the launcher3 at the bottom is a little far from the icons on the screen。
What are the bugs in this rom???
Bootanimation specially made for our device, yay!
Many thanks to espen96 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5250979) for making the new awesome PA bootanim, and resizing it for our device too
Here in attached is the bootanimation for our device, personally tested by me (not flashable, atm): View attachment 480p.zip
you can install it using adb by:
Code:
adb shell su -c 'mount -o rw,remount /system'
adb push 480p.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
adb shell chmod 755 /system/media/bootanimation.zip
adb shell reboot (optional, in case you want to view animation :) )
This would be the bootanim by default, in future builds (if PA doesn't make a better bootanim, ofc)

Good stuff there
I have a question about "Patches" in OP.
Are they included to your ROM, or I have to patch it myself. If it's so how to do it ?

Good work there.
Will try this out the next time I need to format my phone.
Just flashed it. It's awesome.
Installed tons of apps and the rom is still running smooth.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I have no idea what is HALO and Multiwindow, Omni Switch etc.
Will be great if you post some info for users like me.
P.S - I just hate bootloader image It's too big for our screen.
[Q] - Any chance of customizing App Drawer rows and colums?

Here you go brother : http://d-h.st/YPD
Here are some minor issues I found:
1. When you remove the search bar from screen and then you want to remove widget or icon the "remove area" is not shown.
2. In the first 1-2 hours when I flashed it when long pressed Tiles from the status bar the phone didn't freeze. Now it's freezing on long press as CM 11.
Otherwise, I confirm that this is great ROM with more functions. Fast and stable!

1. It's the Launcher3 issue I think. You can use a custom launchers like Nova, Apex.
2. I don't have that problem. Can you logcat when it happens?

It's entirely possible that features not used by me are broken, but overall the device should be usable. You have been warned.

SuperWipe: When installing a new ROM, it is usually better to do a factory reset. In case you like to live dangerously, and spam threads with its consequences, stop reading this now.
So, made some modifications to the existing superwipe.zip, adding support for:
inbuilt journaling disabling (assuming you have an ext4 file system)
inbuilt NAND recovery
Download: View attachment 2693524
Note: A factory reset would work just as fine

Its probably u. Make some more space in system partition by removing some apps like apollo, media files from zip and then do clean flash. And use stripped one gapps(u can find it in other thread)

Smoothness of Stock ROM with greatness of Substratum Themes

What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.
Anyway to get a working system I added some changes from CodeAurora Forum and CyanogenMod. I added also non-AOSP features for a better user experience ("Clear All" button in Recents) and I'm NOT going to add something other.
What is OMS?
OMS (Overlay Manager Service) which was designed by google and its modded by our developers to include it into AOSP ROMs.In short,OMS is a Theme Engine replacement and it can do wonders!

I've flashed it , SMOOTH LIKE HELL ! ! !
I've been using this for 10 hours. Everything is fine except flashlight (which i dont use). Super smooth. In my opinion, this is better than cm14 for falcon.
Great work @srisurya95 :good:

Other ROMs (e. g. CM) are pre-rooted and u don't have to flash SuperSU. But in this case u have to flash it by yourself!
