Thread Added to Index thread

Installing
Will the keyboard bug be ever fixed?

Installed and running beautifully. Andi, I will test only Omni builds from now on, too much hassle to switch a couple a times per day between Omni, Mokee and CM11...
Tapatalked from P5100

Great Work
First off I wanna say that you are just awesome Andi. You are there in EVERY thread. We all really appreciate your work.
I want to give kitkat a try but dont want to flash it over my current one due to data loss scares I had with titanium. So is this rom working with dual boot Black hawk kernel.???
Great work as always.

Ketut's Next kernel will not work with this. I tried that before with early mokee build.
Titanium Backup does work in Kitkat, but only the latest two builds.
Where are you currently? Stock JB?

Yup stock fexus mod 4.2.2. It's great especially with oc next kernel and multiwindow mod.
Did you try ART in the other 4.4 roms?? How much difference does it make??

Kernel of this rom can be OC by default ( must go to Settings/ About and tapped 10 times on build to enable Developer mode (Settings + Performance).
I run everything in art (so far Omni, Mokee and also Cm11).
It does take a long time to boot, because the part, which was previously kept in dalvik is compiled to machine code, so it consumes a little bit more memory, but runs much, much faster. Nothing else but good experience with it.
If you are afraid because of the keyboard bug, you might try Mokee, it is very good.
The best would be to first flash twrp recovery and to make a complete backup of all 6 partitions on external sd card. Once you have it, the funny part starts (you can always go back with complete restore)
You will see: Once you try Kitkat, you won't go back!

Do not use "Google Stock Package", because we are not on Nexus or other Google Play Store device.
Use Mini modular, if you need something extra, add it manually.

Wow I see how powerful the whole thing is now.
You can set whether you want Phone UI or Tablet UI and the DPI size you want for each app. So I can have regular phone interface with my usual statusbar but can set the browser to use the tablet interface with tab bar!
Also here's a thread compiling Themes, Mods and Guides for Paranoid Android (including how to get Apex Launcher to work):

AOSP 4.0.4 IMM76L by broodplank1337
Info:
I'm very happy to release the first alpha build of AOSP IMM76L for Samsung Galaxy S Plus (GT-i9001). Most of you probably know that i've been busy with compiling AOSP for a long time now, and I finally succeeded to compile it by using a very wrong and lame way (tut will come later). Anyways the build is running very stable so far and the performance is very neat. Currently some CM9 sources are copied to the AOSP build to make it working correctly, all the apps (except Phone.apk) are compiled from original AOSP source, I use the framework files from CM9 (Ivendor) but downgraded to get the AOSP wanted result.
I've included a stock kernel based on Arco's i9001 kernel, I've replaced interactive with smartassV2 and added SIO, these 2 are the default choices for the kernel/rom. The kernel is compiled with Linaro toolchain for best performance.
(Thanks to RobyRc for uploading)
Finally we got ourselfs an AOSP Stock ROM to modify ! Please give me as much feedback as possible, so I can improve the ROM!
What's working:
Audio
Receiving and making calls
GPS
Compass
Proximity sensor
Wifi
Bluetooth
USB mass storage
HW accelerated gui
HW accelerated video
Camera
Wifi and USB tethering
What's not working:
FM Radio (use Spirit FM as alternative)
Bugs/Changes Section
New Release! Alpha 02
- Fixed FC's at APNList/AccessPoints
- Removed Dialpad preferences / additional vibrate options for Phone.apk (CM9)
- Original Extended Power Menu / Statusbar now
- Removed ThemeManager/ThemeChooser/Development apks
- Added more sounds
- Much higher performance thanks to linaro "stock" kernel (with some castagnait tweaks)
- Updated libs/egl
- Removed all deprecated and useless files
- Added init.d support (make the folder and give permissions of atleast RWX-RX-RX)
- Probably more, but I forgot it, will add it when I remember
And for the record, I have no clue if incall volume is fixed, couldn't really test it today. Also same thing for random reboots, I haven't experienced one since the new version, so I hope that's for all of you!
Download:
http://www.mediafire.com/?5yh59w9av8qkk39
Reported bugs for Alpha 01:
- FC on Settings.apk (Settings > More... > Mobile networks > Access point names) and (Dialpad > Settings > Dialpad settings)
- Duplicate and unwanted (CM9) sounds (/system/media/audio)
- Sudden reboot (cause is still unknown)
- Incall volume bug (we meet again)
User-suggested changes for next build:
- Reduce number of homescreens from 5 to 3
Personal suggestions/notes for next build:
- Clean deprecated apks? (Thememanager/Themechooser/Term/Development/Superuser)
- Remove unnecessary binaries / libraries (/bin, /xbin & /lib)
- Add forgotten MusicFX.apk (EQ/Seekbar for Music.apk It seems)
- Update EGL modules

Yes, though its getting better and better. Since yesterday for example, the camera is VERY usable now!
Does bluetooth work properly in this build or does it still stop streaming with every little obstruction?

One noob question sorry. Turning the Force GPU rendering may affect the ram memory, or the battery drain?

Actually, turning this on lowers CPU usage because its the GPU that renders, so it might even be beneficial for the battery,,,

General Information:
This is my continuation of doing AOKP PUB Builds just adapted for the Nexus 7 Flo. PUB (Project Unicorn Butter) aimed to bring Linaro toolchain and other optimizations to the normal AOKP build. My goal is to simply continue these builds providing releases based off current code. Current builds are using the latest (2013.09) release of the 4.8 Toolchain. Builds using O3, strict-aliasing, and other optimizations where applicable.
Releases:
The target will be weekly builds on the weekend with a build during the week only where needed for bug fixes to be merged or some major change we just can't wait for
There are two Release Types
TYPE 1 is your traditional ROM Flashable zip.
You must flash gapps after flashing this ROM as it can not be included in the ROM zip.
Current Gapps: gapps-jb-20130813
Slim Gapps(needed for full Dark UI functionality): Slim Gapps 4.3 DownloadsTYPE 2 is an Aroma Installer that includes the ROM, latest gapps, and many other options. See Post 2 below for further details.More than likely any middle of the week builds will not get rolled into the Aroma.
Kernel:
I am currently building the flo kernel from aokp google/msm source (stock). It is the kernel that will be installed if you just flash this as is. This is a perfectly fine daily driver, should be stable and safe across all devices.
If you are looking for better battery life, better performance during gaming, or even just more control over various settings at the kernel level then feel free to try one of the other great kernels offered for this device. I will not recommend one, I will recommend you try them all and see which works best for you.
Installation:
Download rom zip and gapps
Reboot to recovery
Wipe cache/dalvik (full wipe when needed)
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Reboot

Optional Inverts:
You can get inverted applications in multiple ways. First I'd recommend going to System Settings and flipping the switch for Dark AOKP.
This will invert many of the core Gapps for you. For any other applications you may want inverted, there are two great threads that will make this trivial for you:
Midnight Gapps Project
Team BlackOut
Thanks:
- faux123 for his kernel included in this aroma.
- Tk-Glitch for his kernel included in this aroma.
- amarullz for aroma itself and the continued updates
- the great boot animations by thor6577, be sure to check his thread for more!
Thanks, downloading, will report back when flashed.
Update: Really stable so far, and smooth, gonna try the Aroma one later, thanks!
:good: Thanks, i'm waiting for Aroma Link, It still not up yet i think. :good:
Finally, and it's nice too see the kernel built from aosp which means no cm drama recently.
Unfortunately it also breaks the compatibility with custom kernels like latest cm nightlies did, blue screen on boot.

Loved this ROM on my Grouper. Pumped to see it come over to Flo!

This sounds great. going to have to try it. I will assume that the posted build has the broken user profiles as this has been broken in AOKP source(at least on flo but maybe other devices) since Sep 29th. I will wait until this issue is fixed in AOKP source before trying this rom as i need user profiles.
Psyched that you finally made it over here Mr. R! :good:
Can't wait to give this beast a go. Only thing left is for Morfic to bring his uberness to the kernel world for Flo/Deb.
It's been a while since I've seen you in the S3 section, nice to see you here as well. If we are already on another AOKP rom do you think we could dirty-flash this or is it different enough that we should do a full wipe?
the Aroma download link doesnt work.

I dirty flashed from stock and had a process.acore.whatever keep crashing. I cleared contacts storage data/cache and force stopped it and haven't seen it since. Should be fine but if you see weird issues don't post them here until you try a clean flash, that's all I ask.

I don't really play with user profiles so not sure exactly what is "broken". However clicking on users did give me the process.acore has stopped message and clearing contacts storage data and cache made that go away. I can create a user profile just fine in my quick little test.

Any chance of seeing a "OneAromaToBindThem" for Flo, with all of the Aroma goodies but without the AOKP ROM itself? Loved having this toolbox for flashing various ROMs on my Grouper. (Yes, I know I could just download the full Aroma, but space is at a premium on my internal storage.)

ugh... so many things to maintain... And since I'll no longer include inverts there would really just be kernels and apps right?
I feel like its a waste to have the inverts as the thread I link to in the OP keeps them updated and honestly once TRDS got good I rarely even flash another inverted app now. Is there something else you used it for that I'm missing?

I flashed this when I upgraded to 4.4 Stock...do not know if its necessary but I would recommend it...
Wow. Looks GREAT!!! SUPER EXCITED. You might want to swap the flashing procedure as it is vice versa.

Do you have a github link? Specifically to a repo for proprietaries with the new kitkat blobs.

With regards to proprietaries I used the ones posted on Google's site https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/drivers#razorkrt16o and used all OmniRom sources on Github.
Yeah dre1187.. It happens. I appreciate all your doing for the Android Community!

Thanks!! With regards to multi-windows once it gets added to Omni's source or rather they re-commit it then it will be there. I am trying to keep it as close to source as possible until they release an official version. For now I will only change things if they are broken.

I tried getting DSP to FC but I havent been able to...not really sure what the issue is but will continue to test.
I was able to get AOSP browser to FC when setting to the template to 2010. I tried out @scrosler AOSP browser and his does the same, after looking at a logcat it has to do with how the page renders checkboxes...not really sure how to fix it :/ I know it works on Chrome if that is helpful.
This workday can't be over with soon enough so I can run home and flash this! Thanks for the work!
Switched to ART and this thing is super fast.
I come from 4.4 stock. For omni on mako I had to flash old modem. Is here something like that to do?
