so I purchased the 32 gig nexus 7 2013. all is well and i am enjoying the 32 gigs of space (technically 27 gigs if you know what i mean) but one day i decide i want to put kitkat on my tablet. I rooted my tablet and installed a nice pre rooted kitkat 4.4 on my tablet. now for w/e reason my tablet and computer tells me i only have 9 gigs of available space. BULL****! This is a 32 gig tablet there is no way that kitkat installation took up that much space. So then i went and did a internal SD card format. It wiped everything and "bamb" I had my 26 gigs, I went about installing a few apps and before i know it my computer tells me i only have 9 gigs available....what gives? how is the rest of my space all the suden being occupied?

Hello everyone.
I have this strange things going on with my microSD card.
Recentely i bought 32 GB card for my nexus one (using cyanogen mod 7)
When i use that card on my pc i can write all the files at 5 MB/s speed. Then i put it inside my phone and it doesn't mount. After few tries like 4 or 5 it mounts but after that some files are gone from sd card. Allways leaving like 30 GB of empty space. So if i write more it will delete some so it would be 30 GB. Then it mounts normally.
Ok now more then half of you will say that this is fake card or smth. But i downloaded H2testw program and checked my card. Everything is fine with it. The program wrote 32 GB of data and verified everything. Its just problems with phone reading SD card. Anyone can help me ?
Hmm........
So noone has any ideas ?
Check your phone for firmware updates that might raise it to the 32 gb ceiling. Maybe there is a Cyanogen 7 update that will take care of this for you. Also does your phone support SDHC cards?
SD Card Not reading correctly
If you haven't done so, you might want to check the specs of your device to ensure that it will accept 32GB. Some devices top out at 8 and 16GB respectively.

That, and I would upgrade to the latest nightly of CM7.
It is probably not "32gb" "Genuine" memory card.
I've purchased the memory card couple months back and
It says "16gb" when I put musics/videos in the memory card, it was unreadable and unplayable. I think it had actual memory of "2gb", so yes, I've been scammed by Chinese people =P.
I recommend you to check your actual memory by using this program
"H2testw"
Hi!
I've replaced my stock 8 GB SD Card to a 32 GB in my HD7 according to the thread in HD7 General forum.
I've used my phone for the last couple of month (HD7 Deepshining ROMs, mainly) without any issues but last week my card filled up (due to photoes, mail attachments, etc.) to 16 Gb (still got 14-16 Gb free space) and I've got random reboots. Some of the reboots ended with the message that my storage card got corrupted and it needs to be reformatted or replaced. Once I hit restart all went back to normal till the next random reboot and so on.
I've flashed Deepshining 7.7 and emptied my card so everything is normal again as I'm still under the 16 GB "barrier".
I assume that the phone is limited to the 16 GB max storage size and cannot address the card above that space. I wanted to ask if anyone using larger cards than 16 GB has filled up its card ever without any issues? Is this a limit designed in OS or my card is really damaged? I don't like the idea to disassemble my phone just check the card for errors.
Regards,
Cina
How much memory does the system, apps, and everything else use up?
I'm not sure if I'm going to get the 32 GB yet, and I'm trying to figure out how much space is taken up by everything so i know how much space I would have left if I by the 16 GB

Approx. 3GB...I have over 100 apps and some files/music stored on my N4 16GB, and have 6GB remaining. More than enough space.

If your gonna be storing movies, I'd get the 32gig, On a 16gig N4 and have 2 gigs left, with 3 movies a few albums and around 20 apk's.
The space fills up fairly quickly
Im on 16GB N4 and still have enough space. Have ~3GB.. have music and videos stored on my phone.
Unfortunately in Canada they only sell the 8 GB model and 1 GB Ram... if anyone who has it is it worth buying? How is it?
Honestly I am still happy with mine but the the 8 GB does not leave a lot of room for storage. Right now I don't have that many apps installed and I have 4GB left. That's not much but I keep all my backups on an OTG usb which helps.
Even with onlyb1 gig of RAM its pretty snappy and has never been an issue for me personally. If it were me though I think I would go with something newer given the chance. The phone is a couple years old after all.
don't be upset. 8gb enough, if u need more also u can use a portable HDD. our falcon is the only phone I got, which can deliver 4.5 volt via OTG. u don't need any xtra power to run a HDD. just direct plug and play.
I'm not able to use any SD cards as internal memory per Android 6. I've got the Moto X Pure (XT1575) with android 6. I'm using a 128 GB SD card. I have however tried a couple of 32 and 64 gb cards. I did get an old 1 gb card to work though. The other cards work all day long as portable memory but won't format as internal. I've tried a phone reset. Motorola tells me I have to send it in. But I'm not comfortable able going without for 5+ business days. Has anybody else been able to get this feature to work on their Moto X?
I do know you need a pretty fast MicroSD Card for it to work properly. I bought a 128GB Class 10 UHS-1 card from Best Buy for like 40 bucks and I've had in for almost a week now with no issues!! See what class your cards laying around are or go for the one I was talking about, that one will work for sure!!

I don't think speed is an issue. The 1 gb card I did get to work as internal memory was from an ancient Blackberry. Could it in fact be a defective phone?
