ROM
Stock ROM : The ROM which came with your device without any modifications
Custom ROM : Custom ROM is the ROM developed by developers on the basis of stock ROM or unofficial ROM developed from source like Cyanogen mod, miui,..etc.
Ported ROM : Ported ROM is the ROM ported from devices of other brands to get the interface of other brands. Ported ROM is also a Custom ROM Example : Xperia UI in samsung and XOLO
RECOVERY
It is a Bootable partition where we can boot other custom ROMs and kernels and erase the system data in our phone(same like Boot manager in PC)
"RECOVERY MODE" : It is the recovery which comes with every phone officially without modification. It has only options to erase user data AND HARD RESET to OEM (original equipment manufacturer) SETTINGS and install official firmware updates from XOLO.
"CUSTOM RECOVERY" : Most commonly used custom recoveries are CWM and TWRP. They both have lot of options than stock recovery. It has options to install custom ROMs, kernels, format system data, create partitions and install different mods
Difference between CWM and TWRP : Both are good in their aspects TWRP is more easy to use and advanced than CWM. Lets discuss the features
In TWRP we can backup any specific partition you want but CWM not you have to take backup as whole in CWM
We can rename the backup in TWRP but in CWM not
File manager option is there in TWRP but in CWM it does not have it
TWRP allows us to use programs like goo manager, ROM toolbox,etc... but in CWM only allowed is ROM manager
ROOT
ROOT in android means it gives superuser permissions to you to install mods, to install custom ROMs and edit system files. ROOT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PERFORMANCE
COMMON INSTRUCTIONS TO INSTALL CUSTOM ROM

Then navigate to the zip file where you have copied the file and select it
Wait until it completes installing it will show update installed successfully when its completed
Now select reboot option
When your device boots you have successfully installed custom ROM in your device
GENERAL SOLUTION FOR ALL PROBLEMS FOLLOW THEM ONE BY ONE UNTIL THE PROBLEM SOLVES

[ROOT/CWM/KitKat MOD] Allwinner A31 Series - Dyno 7.22 / Bmorn M2 (1024)

This is a small thread regarding the Allwinner A31 based Dyno 7.22 / Bmorn M2
This tablet is based upon the Allwinner A31 Series SoC used in the Onda V971 Quad-Core, with a 7'' HD IPS screen @ 1024x600 resolution and running Android 4.2.2
To Root and install CWM on this device go to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143581 (Credits to XDA Member hariprasadiit for making the thread)
After the device is rooted and CWM installed, follow these instructions:
1 - Download the file "KitKat Mod Recovery File.zip" from this link --> =http://www.4shared.com/zip/jyHpnYNBba/KitKat_Mod_Recovery_File.html
2 - Reboot into CWM and make a backup to your external SD Card
3 - Boot into the Rom normally and perform a Factory Reset from within settings --> backup and restore and select "erase sdcard" to make sure you avoid any conflicts.
4 - Unzip the file you downloaded and put the folder "2014-02-14.16.45.38" into clockworkmod/backup on your external SD Card
5 - Reboot into CWM again, go to backup and restore, and select "restore from external sdcard", select the "2014-02-14.16.45.38" backup
6 - Reboot the device.
I have not managed to make a proper Rom zip file because of the missing META-INF file, so i made it a CWM recovery.
This is NOT a Custom ROM, it's a modified STOCK Rom.
The Android 4.4 MOD includes:
-->Almost all Android 4.4 system apps, including the Google Experience Launcher
-->Android 4.4 Font Pack
-->Modified Dalvik-Cache values for better RAM availability and modified Wi-Fi Scan Interval for better battery performance
Some Android 4.4 Apps were excluded on purpose due to some incompatibility and fc's. These apps are:
--> Google Keyboard
--> Google Photosphere Camera
--> Google Gallery
--> Google DeskClock
IMPORTANT
If for some reason your device enters in a bootloop, just connect it to your USB port on the pc while bootlooping, start the Phoenix Suit program (wait for it to recognize the device), and reboot it to recovery from the program's menu. Your device will boot into CWM and there you can restore your previous backup
This backup is in Portuguese, so to change the language, go to Settings ("Definições"), then to Language and Input ("Idioma e Entrada") and in the first option, change to your desired language.
Enjoy, and Cheers to all!

Just to be sure, does the CWM recovery version matter for installing kitkat? I have v6.0.2.7. Is there any updated version of CWM recovery that is A31s specific? Thanks.
So far that's the only version available for this platform, and the only recovery as far as i know.
The CWM Recovery File i provide, as stated in the OP, is not Android 4.4, it's a modded Stock Rom with the 4.4 app and font pack and some tweaks.
Just follow instructions and you'll be fine
Sent from my LG-E440 using xda app-developers app
Installed Successfully
I installed the mod successfully. Thank you.
The old link is down, new link for the file updated in the OP
Hello, anyone have "KitKat Mod Recovery File.zip" and can reupload it?

Zopo 4.4.4 miui glitters XOLO Q3000 in its Aroma loop

Dear XOLO Q3000 Users,
I am porting today the AROMA based MIUI ROM for our device.
It is based on the rom of ZOPO-zp980 4.4.4 version. I just mode and copied some files from other ROMS and made it work for this devise.
It is just a copy and paste one and nothing is created by me.
I have added some more application.
Almost most of them are functioning.
Please down load the ROM from Google Drive in the url below:
url: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz8Fgu4wkBnqOThCY25HcFpmWDA/edit?usp=sharing
Follow the following steps:
1. Download the ROM and put into a folder in your sd card and take it to your sdcard without extracting it
2. Go to CWM or touch recovery. I have incorporated the Carlive touch recovery 2.2 based on CWM 6.0.4.4 in the ROM itself and you will open the recovery in the same.
3. Carry out the wipe all after clicking wipe function before installing.
4. Select install zip and select the just download rom and flash it.
5. Please wait for some time and it will boot up in about a minute or 1.5 minute.
6. Enjoy.
Boots takes about 1.5 to 2 minutes. Carliv Touch recovery 2.2 based on CWM 6.0.4.4 is built in the ROM.
For any doubts and other problems write here.

In the case of a OnePlus One, this was a stock 4.4.4 ROM. If you're using Windows, you can use the official NETHUNTER WINDOWS INSTALLER, which selects the correct image to download based on your device model.

I can confirm that this also works on OnePlus One! In my case these are the steps I followed (for your own sake, please read all steps before doing any of them):
Start from having a Stock CM12.0S Lollipop ROM installed.
If wasn't done previously: Backup + Unlock + Root + Backup EFS.
Install MultiROM and get it running according to one of the guides linked-to from the Play store page of MultiROM. Make sure you select the correct kernel version 5.0.x!!!! I wasn't paying attention and lost both of my WiFi and cellular connections after reboot and had to flash a bunch of stock ROMs randomly to fix it.
Perform a nandroid backup and copy it to your computer.
Install NetHunter using the Windows tool (may require manually flashing the kali_linux_nethunter_1.xx_...zip at the end) (see link at the top).
Install MultiROM again, this time on NetHunter, selecting the proper kernel (4.4.x).
Go to the MultiROM TWRP and:
Perform a nandroid backup as a precaution.
Transfer the first nandroid backup to device and add it as a ROM "from backup".
Swap the main ROM (which is currently NH) with the newly restored backup (Lollipop).
Boot into Lollipop and run MultiROM again, going through the setup steps again (this is needed so you could boot into NH. If you skip this step you will get a message when attempting to boot into NH that the kernel needs patching).
That's it!
Finally got NH to dual boot on my N5 CM12.1 nightly by installing multirom with CM12.1 kernel, search and download aosp_hammerhead-ota-eng.proxuser-14-11-2013 zip to your SD, flash via modded multirom twrp: advanced, multirom, add zip and reboot. Be quick and choose to boot into the Kitkat ROM. Reboot again but into recovery and flash SU to Kitkat ROM via advanced, list roms, choose the Kitkat rom, flash zip. Reboot once more and flash NetHunter Kitkat zip on top of the Kitkat rom you just flashed and rooted with SU via Advanced, multirom, list ROMs, choose Kitkat rom, flash zip. Optional: Reboot into recovery, go to advanced, multirom, list roms and rename it to whatever you want e.g. NetHunter. Reboot, Enjoy!
Tried several stock lollipop ROMs with NetHunter for lollipop to no avail. This is the only method I found that worked...

Download CWM & TWRP Recovery for LG G Pro 2

I rewrite this from forum.xda-developers.com :
ClockworkMod is a software developer which offers various Android apps. It is primarily known for its custom recovery, commonly referred to as CWM (ClockworkMod) Recovery, used in many custom made ROMs. Once flashed, this recovery replaces the stock recovery of your Android device. Using this recovery you can then do various system level operations on your LG G Pro 2 , such as create and restore images backups, flash a portion of or an entire custom ROM, and use other developer tools. ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) is a replacement recovery option for Android devices, made by Koushik "Koush" Dutta. It is based on the Android 2.1 (Eclair) recovery image. Features include Nandroid backup, adb shell, advanced update.zip options (ignore asserts and signature checks), and file browser for choosing update.zips
The ROM Manager app may be used for installing CWM, overwriting the device's stock recovery. As with the stock recovery, CWM can apply software changes to the device. Unlike the stock recovery, CWM is able to entirely replace the device's primary Android operating system ("flashing a new ROM"), including with aftermarket replacements such as CyanogenMod. Once installed, CWM it is accessed by turning your device off, then triggering the bootloader prompt by holding down some device-dependent button combination as it is turned on. CWM is also known as clockwork and CW recovery. They also provide the following apps:
ROM Manger: An app to backup/restore NANDroid backups
Tether: An app used for tethering regardless of carrier based tethering plans
Helium: An app used to backup user and system data on your device without the need for root
DeskSMS: An app to send and receive text messages from your email, browser, or instant messenger client
TWRP, short for Team Win Recovery Project, is an open-source recovery image for Android-based devices. It provides a touch-enabled interface which allows users to install third-party firmwares and backup the current system, which are often unsupported by stock recoveries. Therefore, it's often installed when rooting Android devices.

[ROM] Pantech SKY Vega Racer 3 IM-850K (and L/S) ROM based on Latest Stock Kitkat

Instead of rooting, installing CWM and then installing the ROM, it’s better to just:
• Copy the downloaded ROM to Internal Memory or SDCard (modem file also for L/S versions)
• Download universal fastboot/adb drivers (link provided)
• Turn Off the phone, Press VolUp+VolDown and press power until you are in the bootloader
• From there select Fastboot
• Browse for drivers when prompted and install them (you may have to forcefully install them)
• Download recovery (link provided) and run CWM 6.0.4.8.bat (recommended) or TWRP 2.8.6.0 (may not work well with stock based roms) and the phone should boot straight into recovery
• Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Dalvik
• Formatting System, Data and Cache is up to you
• Install ZIP and when you are about to reboot it’ll ask to disable flash recovery, select NO to keep the stock recovery as you can boot into custom recovery directly anyways
• Stock recovery is a better option for factors resets and adds a little more security of data in case phone is lost/stolen
• Doesn’t matter if you are coming from AOSP or any other ROM. This ROM also installs Modem, Stock Recovery etc…
Enjoy the stock KitKat sweetness 
NOTE: You may also try installing the ROM on L/S versions but make sure to install Modem file right after installing the ROM. Links for modem files are also provided here for convenience
