[WIP][MOD] Molitov² a SnapChat hack by me and my team. - Android General

A project I have been working for a month. Been learning smali for about a month. It's quite fun once you get the hang of it.
APK and source will be released soon.
Here is a video just showing it off. Any feedback is appreciated. (Well not mean mkay?)

What exactly does this do? Your hand blocks the screen in the entire video.

Sorry if it was not clear. Basically it disables notification to the other person (screenshot, opened etc.) and makes the timer never run out.

Haha!!!! Maybe you should have used your other hand when doing the demo!

My idea for the demo would be touches enabled and having my phones screen on my PC. All the solutions I tried got only 5fps or did not work. If you know a good solution for this I will redo the demo.

Looks interesting, when you going to release an apk?

Keepchat is an xposed module, and xposed currently doesn't work on 4.4. So far I'm looking forward to this.

Thanks for your interest! Just need to test the build scripts across different directories to avoid hiccups. So far results are good and it appears it does not matter.

Slightly disappoint to hear that, yet I'll still be waiting to see what happens. Yet that being said, take your time, its better to have a quality application than something that has many issues ;3

Alright. Got variable dumping working over logcat (Fighting with permissions was the problem) Sadly I'm sick and switching to Telus Optik tomorrow.

What Works:
Data (With workaround, listed below.)
Calls
SMS
GPS
Camera
Torch
Other stuff...
What Doesn't Work:
WifiAP
USB Tethering
Reboot to recovery
Other stuff I'm sure...
Data workaround:
When you first boot JoyOS up, go to Settings>Operators>Access Point Names, and tap the radio button for Sprint. This unfortunately doesn't stick on reboot, so anytime you reboot you have to go back to APN's and instead of tapping the radio button, actually tap on Sprint. This will open the settings for the Sprint APN. Just back out of it and 3G will activate in a few seconds.
Bugs:
Some Chinese here and there.
Home and search keys, capacitive and physical, may stop working. A reboot fixes this. (Rare, only happened the very first time I got it booting.)
Lockscreen may stop appearing when you unlock your phone. A reboot fixes this. (Rare, only happened the very first time I got it booting.)
Sometimes sms' don't show up in the app when received. I don't know why, or a possible fix other than using a third party sms app. If you want to keep the iOS style, I suggest ChompSMS. (This may be an upstream issue with the SMS app.)

Variance is always good, regardless. I'm happy to learn there's more Android development out there I didn't know about. And besides, I've already stolen that Ipod Music clone... My wife and I both use our jailbroken iTouchs around the house and she'll love having the same player.

No worries, only a handful of people have it at the moment.
You can get it here:

Some good, some bad.
1) Does anyone else think its design looks Win8 Metro inspired?
2) More stuff, including free music I would have otherwise missed. That's nice.
3) No more app-by-app auto-update choices. Meh.
4) Still no "default install location" in ICS/JB back. Meh.
In general... it's the choice we're required to have, so I'll live with it.

just another link for you guys. and yes, in case you're wondering, i'm using my sgs4g temporarily. long story, so don't ask.

Update on #3. It does still have app-by-app auto-update... they just hid it. It's now in the menu (hit the menu button) rather than showing when you're just looking at the normal app page. So it takes opening up the app description, waiting for that to load, hitting the menu button, waiting for that to load, and then hitting the back button twice to get back to the app list now. Whereas before it was just open the app description and whether or not the description loaded, you could see the update status and just back out immediately. Way to simplify things, guys.

Working great. Except having sound motion and lock screen motion on together. Causes sound to change on/off when locking screen.
Unlocking screen doesn't work just lights up the screen. Have to manually unlock. Whether you disable lock screen or not.

Do so! It is amazingly smooth, and, although for now it lacks some features we are
used to it is only a matter of time until those incredible developers are able to incorporate
them. For now third party apps do a decent job. :good:

What's wrong? it works.
Scott has taken a good path, solidifying the basics before adding the perks. Nothing like a good foundation, and 4.4 is doing more for our old Infuses, even in its current WIP, than any version of Android since Gingerbread.
My only issue is the rom isn't letting me restore my texts from super backup soon as i get that working i'm using kk as a daily driver
Battery life seems to be better than 4.3. I see lots claiming massive battery time increases, which has me curious how many people leave things like gmail sync,Google now, etc running all the time.

nearly all sms backup apps arent working because of the way sms app handling is done in kitkat. the backup app has to become the default messaging app. i think only sms backup & restore supports this right now, so give that a try. works great for me.
