(Q) Does the nexus 5 have 1 or 2 speakers - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Was just wondering does the nexus 5 have 1 or 2 speakers because at the bottom of the phone there 2 separate holes on either side of the charging port but only one side gives out sound is this normal?

Wired hands free kit not working!?

Hi guys, I've had the phone for a while but never thought to try it with a hands free kit. So I tried to make a call with my beats solo headphones with the control talk cable. Mic was not responding but I could hear the person on the other side. The phones internal mic was also disabled. I then tried it with a HTC headset, same outcome. Not sure whether the Nexus is just not compatible with a wired hands free kit or its just my device.
Any advice?

Have you tried using the cable on another device or a friends device to test the mic? Did you seat the jack all the way down? There's no definitive click but the jack should be able to go all the way down. I have used the mic with a few wired headsets, Sol Republic Amps HD and my V-Moda M100's. I have used the mic on both without an issue.
Works with both of mine to

I've tried the headsets on a HTC One S and a One X and they seemed to work fine on them!
I also tried them on my father's Nexus too but didn't seem to work with his phone either.
So stupid! I don't know why my Nexus's are having this problem?

so no one can help me?
I just looked at your head phones online. Honestly I think it is where the connections are placed on the head phone jack.
All my wired head sets have three lines on the jack. The beats solo shows only two in the pictures.
This is the only logical thing I can come up with

Vibration Motor Question

If I have my Nexus 5 on a desk in front of me, I am unable to feel/hear it. Did I get a defective unit? I am missing notifications...

When your holding it in your hand does it feel strong or week? Also are you using a case? Some cases may be causing it. Most that have reported vibrator issues have been plaining of it being very loud.
Get this app to increase vibration if you feel it's too weak: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dunnow.software.vibrationTuner

This app is great I feel like 70 is good. 63 is eh. Thanks! This won't hurt the vibrate motor or make it die out early?..

Nah. Other manufacturers implement this as an option in their stock roms.
I set mine at 80%

Did the 4.4.2 fix the speakers

Undoubtedly the speaker volume on the 4.4.2 is much higher. I would say it is perfect atm. The only problem I can see at the moment is the hissing sound on the silence parts of a recorded video/sound....
I'd recommend against buying this phone if you want good speakers bro. For obvious reasons lol
